Approximately 5:35AM, June 6th, 2023, I took a Yellow Cab from the corner of Iris Avenue and ****** Ave, San Ysidro, **. Arrived at my destination and asked the driver "how much?" and he said "ten dollars" and I said "that's not how much the meter says" and he says "ten dollars is the minimum payment" I told him that is the "Up Front" price offered by Yellow Cab and I did not choose that option. I asked how much is it on the meter and he says saven dollars and 29 cents. I paid the driver 8 dollars and asked if that was okay with him and he said yes. It was the Etritrean (?) Taxi cab number 203. The week before when I called for a Yellow Cab, two different times the automated recording asked me if I wanted "to see" an "Up Front" price instead of paying for the meter and I chose to see what it would be and later found out that I did, in fact, choose the "Up Front" price when I did not want it, which was also more than the meter price. Both times the drivers said they could not change the price that showed up on the meter, which was that "Up Front" price. the only way I figured it was to look at the meter even before I sat down inside the cab and if it showed that "Up Front" then I will cancel that cab and request another ride, wanting to pay what the meter would say not showing that Up Front pricing.
