I purchased travel insurance from Generali Travel Insurance company. While flying from ****** to *************, with stop in **********, ** my flight got cancelled @ 11:30pm. There were no accommodations from American Airlines. I was stuck in the airport overnight; everything was closed for no food or drinks were available. My son arranged for me to fly out to ************ since there were no flight to *************, the then drove down from ** to ************ to pick me up so I would be on time for his ********** Graduation.I filed a claim with Generali # *********** when I returned May 22. I have gotten nothing but a run around. 1. they need more documentation, which I provided, 2. They asked for more documentation, which I provided (again) 3. now no response, no communications, nothing. The claim still is pending, pending on what I don't know. I have included the president ********************* and the ********************************** and I don't get any response. I have to call every day and they another BS reason, The last one was they can't read Word docs, it has to be in JPEG. So, I sent the whole lot of documents again in JPEG file format. Still waiting. Worst company, worst customer service and worst communications, period. If you need travel insurance, go elsewhere.Review from Liz C

Generali Global Assistance, Travel Insurance Company. Terrible customer ********************. They hung up on me several times. We bought travel insurance with them on Justfly.com but when we filed the claim, they did not process it. I had to cancel because of a surgery and I had doctor's ********* not allowing me to travel. They replied to my email with a reason that not existed that is "Justfly told them that we still have future use, thus Generali will not pay." I called Justfly to verify and they said it's not true. I called them many times and get so many different reasons not to pay. Everytime I called they said claim department closed. Left messages. No call back from them. Do not buy insurance with them. Generali travel insurance needs to be sued and shut down.This is my Claim Number: ***********. Claim amount is $914.Generali Global Assistance Response

I purchased Generali travel insurance for a trip in February from ********* to ***** for a cruise. Our pilot walks in 45 minutes before the plane is due to take off, says he is sick and walks out. The airline had no backup crew so our flight was delayed 8 hours. Because of this we missed our cruise ship and had to pay for accommodations in ***** and then flights to ******* and accommodations there so we could catch our cruise liner. Immediately upon getting home I submitted my claim with all the receipts and documents. Generali didn't get back to me for quite some time and asked for documents from the airlines. While I was waiting on a reply from the airlines, Generali closed my claim. I called to have it reopened and the rep said I'd have to talk to the manager so they forward me to the manager, who doesn't answer the phone. So I left a message, which was never returned. So I sent an email, which was never answered and so the cycle went on and on. I have called, left messages, emailed, gone through the eportal and this crooked company does nothing to answer you. I have never received a call or any communication. Every time I leave a message for the manager they never call back. This company is a scam and they should be put out of business. I had family on this trip that had purchased through another company and they had a refund within 30 days. Generali travel insurance needs to be sued and shut down.Generali Global Assistance Response

Such a loss working with them. Unclear coverage and cost me a thousand dollars for thinking I had coverage when I didn't. Awful loss to me, but I guess ****** learned. I wouldn't recommend.Generali Global Assistance Response

My mother in law was hospitalized on a trip to ***** with severe pneumonia. Generali claimed that she was not covered for days despite sending proof of coverage. Claim was submitted and only partially paid out- no reimbursement of copays that primary insurance wont cover and no reimbursement for missed hotel days due to trip interruption. Tons of documentation submitted. Multiple calls unreturned, different answers every time. One sales person said I shouldnt get a call back because the story is too confusing. This is the worst flight insurance company in the universe. I booked travel through a popular online reservations app and bought Generali insurance in the event my flights needed to be changed or postponed until a later date. We had unforeseen circumstances come up and I needed to cancel our flights. Generali did NOT back up or provide any kind of insurance for our flights, meaning I lost more than $1,200 on the flights I had to cancel. When I reached out (as their agent who sent me the denial of my claim indicated in their message to me that I could respond back with questions), the agent whose name I'm happy to provide if the BBB wants more information, never replied back. Additionally, Generali then had the nerve to send a customer survey out asking for me feedback. I provided honest feedback and explained not only were my flights not insured at all, but the agent never replied back to me. Have not heard a peep since. I want my $1,200+ refunded or at least the ability to use those canceled flights at a later date. This is 100% stealing.Generali Global Assistance Response

DO NOT USE GENERALI (case # ************) yearly we travel to LV . 1/24/24 my husband was hospitalized due to having a stroke It was then discovered he needed surgery with a wait of 10 days due to stroke. Since we had driven to ********* which is over *************************************************************************** fly home Wife doesnt drive so on 1/28/24 our SIL and daughter (RN) flew to LV to drive and medically assist us home the following day. Flight was denied. Generali has done nothing but repeatedly requested the same information over and over and lost what was sent to them. It was never expected for any medical to be paid as we knew ******** would cover. They did reimburse us for the 10 days lost at our Airbnb with flight being denied. . I requested they reconsider and they said possibly EMT (emergency medical transportation) would cover it. Then it started all over with wanting everything and anything. They wanted dismissal information and we informed them it was on the physician statement they received. Nope not good enough they wanted the discharge paper from the hospital. Sowe sent that! One comment that they made regarding this was we needed to call for approval for the flight before hand. Really Generali your communication is so bad who knows how many days before we would hear from you. This was not a situation we could just sit around and wait for you to respond. Yes Generali I know there was a number to call but whenever we did we were told someone would call us back and that was never promptly done Now after all this Generali has gone silent and they are not communicating any longer. Here is my take on this. They just keep asking over and over for stuff just to hope they wear you down. After reading all the reviews and BBB complaints our story is no different from hundreds of others. How is this company even still in business.. Generalli Global It is an insurance company with an old history, unreliable history, and survival. The claims of the insured are treated and analyzed to look for the negative side and take out-of-context policy benefits. When the insured submits a claim for ''trip interruption'' in the case of Travel Assistance insurance, marketed wholesale by tourism operators, as if they were selling candy, only to earn a commission that Generalli pays them and the client purchases, without realizing that he is acquiring ''dead letters'' in an insurance contract that he will not respect, there will be no act of Honor from the insurer. The insurance policy conditions have a very relevant title: GENERAL EXCLUSIONS. This means that the claim or event that is not specifically EXCLUDED, the insured's claim PROCEEDS, and the insurer PAYS.These media and the organizations offered by the state and national government are the supports to claim our rights and disclose the malpractice of insurers. jCDGenerali Global Assistance Response
