Nextdoor has ignored my requests to disable notifications multiple times. On approximately 2 May 2025 I received an email from Nextdoor, followed their link to disable all notifications. Today 9 September 2025 I received another local news email from ********. This is at least the 4th time that Ive disabled Nextdoor notifications in the past 2 yearsBusiness Response

The complaint review process is stacked against anyone from a conservative or Christian background. I have submitted complaints against several posts that are either personal attacks against me or blatant disrespectful comments towards conservatives and these complaints have not been resolved. The attached comment is a personal attack and I am unable to submit a complaint thru Nextdoor. The system appears to accept my complaint but when I go back to check, it was never submitted.Why is this guy protected and I am not allowed to criticize him and have his comments removed?Business Response

This neighbor was suspended indefinitely in 2020 for continuing to be uncivil toward other neighbors. We allowed him back on with the understanding that he would abide by the guidelines, and we recently had to suspend him again indefinitely.Initial Complaint

I've requested the Nextdoor Support Team to provide me a link to download my personal information from their platform: comments, posts, chats, etc, for the eight years I've been on it, to which I've only received a link that doesn't work, apologies for that and empty promises to resolve it. This action is supposed to take a couple of days - I've been patiently for months, as I've repeatedly reminded them I only get errors. They keep saying they're working on it and ask if there's anything else they can do? In one reply they even said the case was closed. It would be nice if they could just do this one thing that they promise to everyone they can.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
Their reply does not address the substance of my complaint or provide any explanation of why posts such as a Bible verse with a heart emoji, family photos, or asking a user to stop trolling me were classified as complaining about moderation. None of these examples violate Nextdoors published Community Guidelines.
Nextdoors guidelines state that neighbors should treat each other with respect and that personal stories, celebrations, and encouragement are welcome. A Bible verse with a heart emoji, family-related posts, and a respectful request for someone to stop trolling are clearly within those allowances. Furthermore, the guidelines prohibit harassment, misinformation, and personal attacks yet users who engaged in these behaviors against me (and even displayed political endorsements on their profiles) were not penalized. This shows that enforcement was selective and applied inconsistently.
Additionally, my account suspension caused real harm, including damage to my reputation and loss of business opportunities because my professional account was locked. I respectfully request that Nextdoor provide transparency into its moderation process, explain why content that aligns with its own guidelines was removed, and reinstate my account(s). If they are unwilling to do so, I ask the BBB to keep this complaint open as unresolved and note the lack of accountability from the business.

The next-door website came up in my email and stated that the neighborhood that I live in, *********** was going to use their site for our neighbor information. This was not true my neighbors did not switch from group me to nextdoor. I keep getting emails and texts even though I have repeatedly clicked unsubscribe. Now when I try to unsubscribe, the site will not go to another window for me to click this. I have tried googling nextdoor.com and nothing comes up. I just want off of their page because I do not even know the people that are on this site and they have nothing to do with my community. Thank you.Business Response

On Aug 13 my acct has hacked and a duplicate made using all my info down to favorites and visible sign in info. With a disparaging comment about me in profile. Fraudster was commenting and posting using my info. I was told by reviewer to change info on profile to differentiate from fraud ****. I did..It went from ***** *..To *** *..When fraudulent acct was taken down I attempted to change back yo my real name. System would not allow. I have been suspended for a day. Not given opportunity to change it ..which is normally a Nextdoor option. I have reported directly and thru Nextdoor support with proper id ..DL Insurance Card..I Have received no response. I have been a ******** member for years. I didnt open a new acct ..my name never changed ..Why is no one helping me..I feel Ive been treated badly.Business Response

For the past few years myself & other members have reported large amounts of Animal sales, Backyard breeders. ILLEGAL breeding, fraudulant activity regarding fake rescue's, fake rehoming of animals to NO avail. The site is constantly filled with animal flippers, scammers selling sick animals.This is prohibited on ANY ************ website. I have personally asked this be addressed by educating/training staff or remove staff who merely ignore the rules. All of which has been ignored. My partner and I were both banned from nextdoor for using alternate names for our safety and protection. We were only trying to sell a few items as were Disabled and becoming homeless. Meanwhile the site is full of constant hate speech and abusive language. The site needs to be shut down as it cant handle moderating. They are forcing the name to become public without consent of someone with an active stalker and restraining order. I also recently reported an image someone captured of a woman in a compromising sexual position without her consent, and that one didnt even get removed. Nextdoor is an extremely dangerous and negligent site, putting residents at extreme risk of violence.Business Response

This company is ran by pure hypocrisy. They censor conservatives very heavily, but allow liberal users to break various laws and slander others. They refuse to punish those who violate those same polemic break the companies own rules. Further; they allow illegal unlicensed contractors, who even admit they arent licensed, to advertise, which has been repeatably flagged for violating actual laws. And Ive cited such laws broken. Not exactly sure what the complaint is based on the neighbor's description. If a neighbor wants to help out with a job, we don't moderate those conversations. It's up to the person who is asking for help to determine if they want to utilize the help. Posts are being made that violate the Texas cottage food laws and when you report them, you get post back from your helpdesk that Im the onebeing reported for reporting the post and they will allow them up. You also have local moderators in our area now telling people that are being reported who the moderator is reporting them. so you allow people to post things that are against state law, and your moderator ***** that I reported to told me Im the one in and I should quit reporting.
