I canceled my membership on Patreon in July of 2024. I also removed my payment method from the app. I have been getting charged monthly since July. I have reached out to support multiple times and have gotten no where. I have also reached out to my bank.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:It is too little, too late. The business continues to cut and paste responses that are no longer relevant. They claim, erroneously, that I am still a member, while their own system clearly shows I am not a member, but have been charged.
I want an apology, and I want compensation for my time at this point. I also want them to have a bad rating here, with my complaints and the complaints of others accessible somewhere-- so that others can be warned! They are stealing from well-meaning customers.

On February 18, 2025, I paid $120 to subscribe to a creator on Patreon, but on February 21, Patreon notified me that my account would be deleted and asked me to provide information. I immediately provided the information they needed, but they still deleted my account and did not refund me. On February 18, 2025, I received a fan subscription worth $120 at ************************. However, ************************** froze the funds, claiming it was because my account was new. They told me I could withdraw the money after five days.Then, on February 21, ************************** deleted my fans account. My fans reached out to me asking for a refund, and I assured him that I would return the money as soon as I received it.However, Patreon kept coming up with excuses to delay my withdrawal. Eventually, they told me I would be able to withdraw the money no later than March ******** is March 14, and 13 hours ago, I received an email from ************************** that said:This is a reminder that due to suspicious activity, your Patreon account has been disabled and is scheduled for deletion. If you believe this is a mistake, please contact us.I contacted them immediately, but they havent responded at all, and now I cant even log in to my Patreon account.Since the moment I learned that Patreon had deleted my fans account, I havent used my account, nor have I posted any content or made any comments that could violate their guidelines. I am rejecting this response because: this will be the second time all your responses in as many months that you have suggested the same AI generated response to all my emails and your suggestions on both instances have been the same with the same no action or correction to this issue. At this point in time, your are essentially stealing from me every month, and have yet to correct it, despite you acknowledged that my information has been ans subscription has been canceled from your platform. I have responded every solution you have given me, and no action has been taken or resolution has been brought forward on your end to suggest you have even looked into the matter. When you take money from someone and you do not provide a product or service back, I think that would be considered stealing and is still illegal, as far as I know, in this country, even when you do it over the internet. At this point, the money is a very a small amount but for people living in the real world, it starts to add up. So I just chalk that up to doing business with impersonal companies such as yourself. On February 7, 2025 I was automatically charged for a one-year membership to a creator in the amount of $108. I was notified that the creator I was following was leaving Patreon on February 28, 2025. I have reached out to Patreon three times to issue a refund for the remaining months (March - December 2025). The amount I was requesting for reimbursement is $99.I was told that this doesn't align with their Refund Policy and I would not be getting a refund.When I looked into Patreon's Refund Policy, it states the following situation or scenario may qualify a refund: "Item not received (creators should clearly state the delivery window for the product, service, or benefit and communicate with the fan if the delivery window needs to be adjusted)." Per the request of Patreon, I have reached out to the creator three separate times for a refund. The creator has not gotten back to me. They urged me to do the following: "If you have not received a response from the creator regarding their refund policy on Patreon and you need more information, we suggest contacting the creator directly outside of Patreon. You can do this by reaching out to them on social media or any other platform where you found the creator's Patreon page."I don't believe it is ethical advice for them to suggest I seek out a creator on outside platforms when the charge was done by them (Patreon).Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:The issue was not resolved on February 25, 2025.
On February 27, *** from Patreon Support wrote this: We have carefully reviewed your refund request and unfortunately, we cannot issue a refund at this time. This is because your request does not comply with our Refund Policy.
When I reviewed the online Patreon Refund Policy, it states Item not received (creators should clearly state the delivery window for the product, service, or benefit and communicate with the fan if the delivery window needs to be adjusted) can qualify for a refund.
I responded back to *** on February 27 that I am not receiving an item for 11 months out of the 12 month subscription. This qualifies for an "item not received".
On February 28, *** responded back "I would like to reiterate that we cannot offer you a refund as your request does not meet our strict refund policy. Please note that this decision is final and there will be no further reconsideration. I'm sorry to inform you that this will be our final communication with you regarding your refund request as we have exhausted all available support options in this case.
I appreciate your understanding in this matter, and I hope this clarifies the situation for you."I would like to point that there is difference between a STRICT refund policy and a MISLEADING refund policy. Since I am not receiving services that I have paid for, I have been misled.

I am rejecting this response because:Patreon Support has not provided an alternate solution and/or worked out a compromise. The issue is not resolved because, again, they have charged me for an annual subscription that only provides 1 month of access. I am requesting a refund for the 11 months that is unavailable, which aligns with their refund policy. In their response to BBB, they are recommending I can contact Patreon Support, which contradicts the email they sent me on February 28. In their email, customer service representative *** stated "I'm sorry to inform you that this will be our final communication with you regarding your refund request as we have exhausted all available support options in this case."
Again, I would like to reiterate that not a single support option have been given to me in our communication.

Patreon is STEALING from me by overcharging me tax by almost double and is refusing to refund me and will not say whether they will continue to steal from me or not. Sales tax in ************* is 6% and for ************** it is 1%. Up until this month I have paid $3.15 tax on $45, but this month that went up to $5.92 which is 13%. They are stealing and if this is happening to me, how many other people are they stealing from? That's so much money-- it would be a felony if it was a private citizen.Business Response

I support one artist on Patreon, for $1 a month, which I have done since early 2017. Recently, it came to my attention that Patreon has been deducting $3 a month from my bank account to allegedly pay for another subscription. This has apparently been going on for years. It was such a small amount that I admit it escaped my attention until now. However, I can find no record on Patreon that specifies what this $3 subscription is for. I have attached copies of each year's billing history to exemplify that only one subscription, the $1 one, is showing up as a legitimate subscription. The $3 subscription does not appear under my settings, only one subscription appears, the $1 a month one. I have attached a copy of my "membership page" at Patreon to prove this. I have contacted Patreon about this via their webform, which is the only means in which to contact them, demanding an answer to what the $3 per month that has been deducted for many years, is for. I have not received an answer after waiting over a week. I tried contacting ******, which the payment goes through, asking for assistance from them, but they are unwilling or unable to help. Since the bogus subscription does not have any information attached to it, there is no way on Patreon to identify or cancel it. If you would like to see my emails from ****** that verify that the $3 a month is being deducted, I will be glad to provide them.Business Response

I cannot accept this response the way it is worded. "We recommend that the user waits for our response and then continues to respond to our emails since it is the best route for a resolution." How can I "continue to respond" to emails when I have yet to receive any communication from them? I contacted them directly over a week ago and never heard back. Furthermore, there is no timeframe specified for me to "wait for [a] response". Will it be a few days, a week, several weeks, longer? This just seems like a delaying tactic, and a very vague one at that. Once the business contacts me with more information about the mysterious $3 charge, that will give me more information to work with.
