1 starThe time it takes for payout is overly excessive. I work a shift and I can't get paid for over a week sometimes. Its super difficult to reach customer service tooReview fromJin H

1 starThis is a horrible app and they dont even look at your resume and experience. If you can answer the quiz then you can do any job. Then if you dont pass there quiz and fall you have to wait 6 months. There are better apps than this and I would not recommend you using them at all as server or a business!!!Review fromMaria C

1 starThe app is very inaccurate when it comes to finding jobs near your location, they post jobs for me over 60 miles away, the pay is not very good and you can't get a live agent!!! Would definitely not recommendReview fromjanet h

1 starI recently was sent to a shift in merchandising but the partner company didn't show up. the policy is that if the partner canceled within 6 hours of a shift then I would get paid for 4 hours, apparently the policy is different if they just don't show up. Once I realized the lead for the partner company wasn't showing up I called the number for them in the app and I reached out to insta work. Insta work told me to send them screen shots of my efforts to contact the lead, I did that. They told me I had to wait for an hour, which is ridiculous because they don't compensate you for the hour you waste, but I waited. when the hour ended Insta work told me I could leave and they would reach out to the partner and get approval for my 4 hour pay which could take 7 days...What? I reminded them of the 6 hour policy. After 7 days, and I asked what the status was and they told me the partner said "I went to a different location and the location I was supposed to go to had no record of me showing up so they were not going to pay me" Insta work sent me to the wrong location and should have been responsible for covering my 6 hour policy pay. The partners are aware of the treatment of insta workers by ***** work so its time they start hearing from us, getting flooded with complaints, being held to the same standard as us by us as we are held to by insta work. how many complaints do you think they can get about insta work and themselves for being complicit in us being mistreated and ripped off before they kick insta work to the curb. 2 nights after I worked that shift I broke down on the freeway on my way to work. I contacted insta work and the lead before my shift started and got suspended.Review fromLorraine(Roxs) S

1 starI am filing a formal complaint against Instawork for unfair business practices, wage theft, and policy inconsistencies that have resulted in a significant financial loss.Complaint Details:I was scheduled for 14 shifts as a dishwasher through Instawork at ***************************** ***************, each at $22.68/hr for 8-hour shifts. However, the business canceled my shifts without compensation while Instawork failed to uphold its own cancellation policies, which require businesses to compensate workers for last-minute cancellations.Instead of canceling properly, the business blocked me from shifts, effectively bypassing the cancellation penalty while denying me wages. Instawork allows businesses to exploit this loophole, unfairly depriving workers of income. Despite reaching out to Instawork for resolution, they failed to provide transparency, an appeals process, or fair compensation.Issues With Instaworks Practices:Lack of Transparency: No notice or justification was given for my shifts being revoked.Unfair Policy Enforcement: Businesses are penalized for cancellations but can block workers to avoid payment.Wage Theft Concerns: I lost $2,540.16 in unpaid wages for scheduled work.Instawork's response fails to justify these actions, leaving workers without protections. I request BBB intervention to hold Instawork accountable for unfair business practices and to seek a resolution, including compensation for my lost earnings. Please let me know the next steps in this complaint process. I am happy to provide supporting evidence, including screenshots and correspondence.Review fromJason L

1 starRip off. ******** customer service. Wont pay me. They made my ability to request hours adjustment. I was told to do this by my supervisor on site. It needs to be done everyday because their app doesnt work. Doesnt allow clock ins and outs properly. It has been a nightmare and no one cares from Instawork. It is the worst company I have ever worked for in nearly 30 years. **************** only through unanswered chats for hours and then they repeat the same stupid responses and solve nothing ! They need to be sued and when hey are everyone of so many many people complaining here on Bbb and just about them in general ought to be able to sue them enough to shut their fake business downReview fromPatrice M

1 star*I was forced to leave a star...... I REFUSE TO BELIEVE THAT A SIMPLE ARBITRATION IS WHAT REALLY KEEPS INSTAWORK FROM IMPRISONMENT FOR MODERN DAY SLAVERY!! I DID FIND THE CEO ON ******** ONCE THEY BREACHED THEIR OWN ARBITRATION, CLOSED MY ACCOUNT WITH OVER A COUPLE HUNDRED DOLLARS STILL OWED TO THIS DAY. AND I WAS A 5STAR WITH MULTIPLE FAVORITES & AMAZING REVIEWS FROM ESTABLISHMENTS I WORKED AT. AND AS A 5STAR, I WAS OFFERED THEIR INSTAWORK DEBIT *********** LITERALLY CUT MY CARD OFF WITH MY HARD EARNED MONEY ON IT..ANYWAY, SEARCH INSTAWORK CEO, HES EAST INDIAN. I WAS SUCH A WRECK FROM MONTHS OF ************************** I JUST JUMPED IN THE COMMENTS OF HIS DAILY POSTS(RESPECTFULLY)ASKING FOR ********* CAUGHT THE EYE OF ANOTHER CEO WHO PRIVATELY CONTACTED ME CURIOUS ABOUT WHAT I WAS SPEAKING OF. AND THIS MAN WAS SO AMAZING, HE MADE SEVERAL CALLS & FOLLOWED THRU WITH WHAT HE PROMISED. I EXPLAINED THAT C.S.. WAS LIKE A CULT & IF YOU HAD TO MUCH OF A OPINION OR SPOKE UP FOR YOURSELF, YOUR SCHEDULE WOULD SLOWLY DISAPPEAR W/NO EXCUSES GIVEN. AT THIS POINT, IM CONVINCED THAT THE CEO IS POWERFUL & UNTOUCHABLE LEGALLY. OH & I GOT AS FAR AS MY ARBITRATION DATE FINALLY & DID EVERYTHING EXACTLY LIKE THEY ASKED & THEY STILL GOT AWAY WITH IT..UNTOUCHABLE LEGALLY. BUT THERES STRENGTH IN NUMBERS, IF THERES A 'BAD ASS' LAWYER OUT THERE WITH JUST ENUFFWOULD CONFIDENCE, ***************** ON CHALLENGING UNPAID ******************* BREACHES TO TAKE ON THIS COMPANY IN A MASSIVE CLASS ACTION SUITE. I've NEVER EXPERIENCED THAT AMOUNT OF EVIL IN ANY WORK ENVIRONMENT. I ALMOST HAD A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN, MAINLY DUE TO NOT UNDERSTANDING HOW AMAZING WORKERS WERE BEING LOUDLY MISTREATED FOR ALL TO SEE....Review fromTracy T

1 starThis app does not work if you are a true hospitality professional. It is designed for entry level hospitality workers willing to work for extremely low wages and after meeting the time table parameters set by Instawork a user can graduate to the next level of jobs that are more desirable or offer better pay. If you already have hospitality tenure outside of using the app it is NOT accounted for and you are treated no differently than someone who has zero experience. This model traps workers in low wage positions that normally they would never accept otherwise.Review fromVonda B
