Other than them not providing a report on one of my children the experience was good. They do answer their phones just not helpful in addressing the issue of getting the report resent even if you provide an updated fax number.

Had tests done in Apr - Was quoted ZERO cost, that these were completely covered. Today I get a bill for the testing. 10 months later. If you ever have any testing to do through these liars, which I do not recommend, get proof of their false claims so you can defend yourself later.**********, as I read through all the reviews here, I see that these practices are just how the company works. Wish I'd seen this before. Read the reviews here people, before you deal with these crooks and liars.Review from James L

Same experience as others here. Simple swab test that the doctor said would be 100 they charged my insurance **** dollars and billed me nearly 700. I called and the cash price would have been 250. I had to argue a lot to get any reduction and they wanted my tax info for my income. Really terrible behavior taking advantage of the system and the customer. Shameful.Invitae Response

Market their genetic tests as $100, but that fee only applies to low income patients and requires an application. Actual test was $450, but they tried to bill ** an additional $10,000 ! Fortunately, we have good insurance, and they were able to dispute it. Just want to warn others who may not be as fortunate.Invitae Response

Apparently we should have checked the reviews before using Invitae. I called ahead about a preventative test, and was quoted $0-25, but at worst would be a maximum of $250. I received a bill some weeks later for over $1600. Calling their customer support did not help, and I was asked to provide tax information to see if we qualify for a bill reduction.My doctor gave me the name of this place, so I assumed it was a good option. I'll be reaching out to my doctor to prevent their practice from handing out this company's information anymore. I also look forward to reporting this company's malicious practices to the relevant government agencies.If only we could give 0 stars...Invitae Response

This company rips people off. I called in to ask how much NIPS testing costs if I didn't have insurance. They told me $250. The same NIPS Testing was billed to my insurance company at $2000 and "discounted" $1578.35 for United Healthcare. I received a bill for $421.65 w/ my insurance. Something doesn't add up... $250 without Insurance, but $421.65 with my expensive insurance. Seems like this company takes advantage of the insurance companies and those with insurance. How is this company still in business? There are plenty of similar complaints about this companies lack of integrity and overcharging customers.Invitae Response

Horrendous customer service. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone outside of when your insurance covers it. They blow you off for weeks at a time, refuse to answer calls or emails, and are incredibly rude on the phone. If you're going to spend cash money on having any DNA testing done, go through Nebula instead.Invitae Response

I was surprised to see so many negative comments because our experience using this company was anything but terrible. We were so happy with how quick, inexpensive, and thorough the process was. We did bill through insurance but Invitae made it so easy for us. We just wish there were more genetic counselors on staff.Review from Ali K.

I also have had a terrible experience with this company. I got a NIPS Test in May of 2022 and was quoted $100 without using my insurance. I had my baby in November of 2022, and did not hear a peep from this company until October 2023. A year and a half later?! They have been contacting me this past month and telling me they charged my insurance $1400 and my insurance did not cover all of it, so I now owe $600. My insurance lets me know whenever I have a claim filed, and it has not shown up through my insurance AT ALL. I thought for sure this was a scammer pretending to be invitae until I googled it and found these reviews. I will be telling my OBGYN office about my experience because I am sure they would think twice before recommending a shady company such as this to their patients.Invitae Response
