Rakuten refused to give me my refund unless I listened to multiple advertisements. They made me listen to advertisements and insisted on having a payment method on file. It took me over an hour and a half on the phone with them and they were absolutely terrible.Rakuten

Ive been using Rakuten since they rebranded from Ebates in 2019 and never had issues until now. A recent Bloomingdales promotion showed 10% cashback with no mention of up to. I made three purchases and checked all exclusions carefully (as I always do), and none applied. After I made the purchases, when I pointed out the issue and expressed my dissatisfaction, Rakutens explanation was that it was 10% for Home items and 2% for all others which wasnt the case when I made my purchases.When I contacted support, they initially blamed exclusions. After I showed that none applied, they changed their explanation and said it was up to 10%, which was never stated in the original offer or exclusions. Even if that were true, it shouldve been disclosed clearly.They then offered me a $20 bonus if I made another purchase clearly trying to smooth things over. But this isnt about a bonus. Its about transparency. Customers deserve to know exactly what cashback theyre getting, and it should be clearly stated on the receipt. Ill be filing a claim with the BBB because companies like this should be held accountable for misleading or unclear practices.Rakuten

Don't trust rakuten or bbb. They lie and keep making excuses for no cash back on dozens of orders. Bbb "resolution" is obviously biased for rakuten always taking their side and making up bogus excuses.Rakuten

Title:Misleading Promotions No $30 Bonus or Temu Cashback Received Review:Im writing this review to share my frustrating and disappointing experience with Rakuten. On April 17, 2025, at 8:42 PM, I placed an order through Rakuten on Temu for a total of $33.27 (Order Confirmation ).Rakuten was promoting a $30 bonus for new users after spending $30, plus 28% cashback on Temu purchases. Based on this, I expected to receive both the $30 bonus and the cashback.However, I received neither. When I contacted Rakuten customer service, they gave me a vague and unhelpful response saying they could not issue cashback for my transactionwithout any valid reason or proper explanation.I used the platform exactly as instructed and followed all terms. Their response was robotic and dismissive, basically just a copy-paste we cant help message. This is not how a reputable company should treat ******** Rakuten account email is ****************************, in case someone from their team actually cares enough to investigate.This feels like a bait-and-switch. They advertise great offers to attract users and then dont honor them. Ive used other cashback platforms without issue, but this was honestly the worst experience Ive had.If someone from Rakuten is reading this: Please prove me wrong. I'm so disappointed. When it was Ebates I never had issues and actually when Rakuten first took over things went well. Now, I wait and wait and wait to get cashback out of pending. They tell me it is because of waiting times based on people that return things - I get that - but not when it is for cosmetics or items that you can't return! I have over $100 in pending status from January 2025 and most all of it is cosmetics which I cannot and would not try to return. It's product I use!! The next check is due to be sent on 5/15 and right now I won't even get one as my "confirmed" is $1.26 with $112 pending since January of 2025. I find it interesting that when I tried the CapitalOne cashback program I got my cashback within a two week period after I ordered from ********* (the same company I ordered thru with Rakuten). I just get the feeling there are financial issues with Rakuten - it's not like it's an excessive amount of money I'm waiting on! When I do send messages to customer service questioning this, I'm sent back an automated response saying congrats your order is eligible for cashback and is in pending status until confirmation.....really??? an ebook I ordered through ***************************? 2 months ago? I'm truly disappointed as I have gotten over $2950 in cashback over the years. It once was a great program - I only hope it corrects it's problems.Rakuten

Rakuten is using numerous excuses to not honor cashback payments. I always have problems with receiving cashback when the cashback amount exceeds the vendor's normal cashback percentage. The newest excuse is that I used a coupon from the vendor's website, which I always use when I shop. Ebates/ Rakuten has been playing these games for quite sometime, offering a larger cashback and then attempting to refuse to pay. Another of Rakuten's ploys is to keep cashback in a pending mode for months. In addition, attempts to respond to Rakuten's emails are futile since emails are returned citing the email address is unmonitored.Rakuten

Hello,I wanted to express my dissatisfaction about their lack of transparency in handling cashbacks.They have also storing passwords from other sites on their platform which was not done ********* addition,my referral bonus (like other reviewers') was labeled ineligible.Upon inquiry,a highly ****,unfriendly and belligerent agent namely ****** M snubbed me multiple time and falsely accused me of abusing the program.Her behavior and demeanor is highly unacceptable and has prompted me to never refer anyone to Rakuten.I had been a loyal member since the time the company was called Ebates and had referred it to my friends and acquaintances even without the incentive or receipt of any referral reward. It is highly unfortunate that just because of this aggressive and belligerent customer service agents like ****** M,I will not be part of Rakuten.Please feel free to let me know if you need any more information.ThanksRakuten

When it works, you can get some cash back from your shopping experiences. But when there are glitches, you are on your own. There use to be an online process to inquire about missing cash back, but that has disappeared. Now there is just a frustrating "Frequently Asked Questions" section that is only answers basic "how to" questions.Rakuten

It now takes so long to received most of the results of an order placed using Rakuten it is very difficult to follow up on these items. It used to take a few days or maybe a week with certain companies. If i didn't received something i could send information back to Rakuten. However, now i might have to wait 14 weeks. It makes almost impossible to follow up on everything. Why waist my time using Rakuten for a few pennies or a couple of dollars.Rakuten
