The pickup day for my compost was Monday, December 23rd. My compost was not picked up.I called same day to schedule a pick up for Tuesday, December 24th. Again my compost was not picked up.I called Thursday, December 26th to schedule an urgent pick up. Still my compost has not been picked up.I called Friday, December 27th in the morning to file a complaint and urgently request they pick up my compost can. Recology never picked up my trash, when I asked to be credited for the non pickup they only offered a $6 credit.This is not the amount I pay for the missed collection and I would like to be refunded in full.I have ceased services with Recology because of their lack of ability to provide adequate services.Initial Complaint

On August 14, 2024 I took recyclables to the Recology location in *****, **. A check #****** was issued for $18.42. I deposited that check to my ******* account.On 8/16 I received a notice from my bank stating that the funds had been denied by Recologys account at **********************I went to the office in ***** at which time I was told that there had been an issue with their system on 8/14 and a new check would be issued. I followed up on numerous occasions with ***** in ***** who told me the check was mailed from ************* on 10/21. After 2 weeks and no check I was told to give it until 11/21. Today is 11/25 and still no check. I want my money.Initial Complaint

Recology increased their prices more than 30% at the beginning of the year and changed their online portal. Now it's impossible to know what they are charging for, and every bill is higher and higher. When you call you hold for over an hour to speak with someone and they end up hanging up on you when they feel they can't provide you with a reasonable answer as to why they keep charging more for lousy service.Recology is the only trash company in ******* and because of this they feel they can do whatever they want, and consumer have no choice but to take it. We are paying more for trash collection for an 8 unit complex than we pay for a 16 unit complex in **********. Someone needs to do something ASAP!!!1Initial Complaint

I am resident manager for a 36-unit apartment building located at *****************************************************. Our garbage, recyclables and compost bins are picked up Monday, Wednesday and Friday by Recology ***********. I have personally been dealing with Recology since I took over as manager in 2016.Despite requesting a "no swap" order on our containers (allowing me to keep them clean and relatively odor-free) we have been receiving bins clearly marked as being from other addresses. Some of them have missing lids, and are frequently covered with old kitchen grease, vomit and other vile substances. This has been creating odor, biohazard and vermin issues. I have made hundreds of attempts to solve this problem with their **************** over the last 8 years. Despite the lovely words of ****************s personnel, nothing has changed, and our service continues to be abominable.On behalf of our tenants and building owner, I would like to request that Recology be called to task, and to actually provide the service for which we are paying them. Recology removed our recycling dumpster that is included with our *************** without warning or reason even though we have been consistent with payment. For over a week we called the recologys office every day, 6 calls total. Each time we called, we were assured this was a mistake and they will bring our recycling dumpster back the following day. Our buisness is a bar and restaurant so we rely on the use of our recycling dumpster. It is now the weekend our buissy period of the week and our dumpster is full, we haven't had anywhere to put our recycling in over a week. Recology has a monopoly on the garage buisness leaving us no other option of buisness to switch too. At no fault to us, our service was cut off although we have never missed a payment. There seems to be no accountability or remorse for Recology and our buisness has fallen victim to unfair buisness tactics and or breach of service contract. We are forced to use a hauling service at our cost to compensate for inadequate and corrupt management at ecology.Initial Complaint

I have been paying my sanitation bill every month without fail, and all I ask is that I get what I pay for. Now this is the second time the recology people has not picked up my recycling, due to premature assumptions about what's in my recycling container, and as opposed to picking up and dining me if I puts things other than what's supposed to be in my recycling container the employee leaves my recycling in the container and picks up nothing. Now that guy isn't getting paid to analyze trash he is getting paid to pick it up, and I am sick and tired of these people not doing there jobs and I believe something needs to be done about it, which is the reason for my complaint. Account Number **** ****************************** ****************, the local garbage company, has not picked up our building's trash in over a month. I have contacted them nine times in this period and have received multiple promises that the trash would be picked up "tomorrow" and that a supervisor would call me. Neither of these things has happened.We have received partial credit for missed pickup but the trash is piling ** in the pick-** area as well as in our homes.
