Dear Better Business Bureau,I'm filing a formal complaint against Reddit, Inc. for their failure to enforce their own content policies, resulting in significant harm and distress to *********************************.Nature of Complaint:Reddit has failed to remove posts containing harassing, doxxing, defamatory, and infringing content, despite multiple violations of their own content policies.The posts attached in the pdf file have caused significant harm to *********************************, including damage to his personal and professional reputation, severe privacy violations, and potential interference with an ongoing *** investigation.- Harassment: The posts harass and target *********************************, spreading malicious and false statements aimed at damaging his personal and professional reputation, violating Reddit's Policy on Harassment and Bullying.- Doxxing: Personal information about ******************** and his mother has been exposed, violating Reddit's Policy Against Doxxing and Privacy Policy.- Copyright Infringement: The posts include copyrighted material related to ******************** without permission, violating Reddit's Copyright Policy.- Defamation: The posts contain false and defamatory statements about ********************, misleading the public and harming his reputation.- Potential Tampering: The posts contain false information that could interfere with an ongoing *** investigation into the Exzo Network hack, which may be construed as tampering.Despite notifying Reddit of these violations 5+ times, they have failed to take appropriate action to remove the harmful content. This lack of enforcement not only contravenes Reddit's own policies but also perpetuates physical and financial harm against ********************.We request that the Better Business Bureau take action to address Reddit's failure to enforce its content policies. Specifically, we seek the immediate removal of the offending posts and a commitment from Reddit to prevent such issues from recurring in the future.Initial Complaint

Reddit continually engages in unfair, discriminatory, and fraudulent business practices by manipulating content, spreading disinformation, penalizing users with vague or non-valid claims. For example, this site allows hate speech to thrive but silences or blocks users with disagreeing view points. Its pitches itself as a safe place for constructive conversation but allows vitriolic content and mods continually block individuals for, in the last example, evaluating both sides of a topic. Further, there is no mechanism for resolution to these issues within the site. Sites are run with full ability to discriminate, promote disinformation, punish dissent, and encourage harassment against minorities. I have been threatened with violence on many occasions and this is allowed to thrive and is actively encouraged by Reddit. The primary complaint here is that Reddit has posted rules stating that threats of violence, harassment and other nefarious acts are prohibited but in practice these rules are not followed. Reddit is an unsafe location for any person as it does not have any legitimate mechanism for establishing controls and standards around how its rules are interpreted and enforced.Initial Complaint

Reddit is denying me service by banning me on 3 seperate accounts based solely on a report sent from a moderator of a subreddit that had no reason to report me. I receive no help from customer service and I am being censored. Not only is this against the law it's against our fundamental human right to free speech in every country.Initial Complaint

I had a case where another Redditor used excessive vulgar language against me and bullied me. There was no way for me stop it so I disputed with the Redditor back. However, as a result, my account was suspended because of this. I would like to ask Reddit lift the suspension on my account since I did not provoke or start the dispute with that other Redditor in the beginning, but rather I was just defending myself.Initial Complaint

Account suspended for doing nothing. With no explanation other than "breaking the rules". However, impossible as account was not accessed for over 12 hours during the period of a warning email hours after going to sleep and then 4 hours later a full suspension all while I was sleeping and had no activity at all. Reddit refuses to explain what "rule" was broken while I was NOT using my account. The only last activity is politely asking another user to NOT use racist slurs, which is in NO way breaking ANY rule.************************************************************************************************************************************ needs to reassess PROPERLY and reinstate account as no rule breaking has occurred or show exact proof.Initial Complaint

My account was banned for harassment. The notification told me that I sent a message harassing another user on ********************** on 04-19-2024, of which I had used the phrase, "Hahaha." far too menacingly in Times ******************* a two-day period, of which includes the 19th of April, I sent one message. This single message was in response from an auto-mod (a programmed bot account) auto-banning me from the sub-reddit r/teslalounge for joining another sub-reddit r/cyberstuck, a sub-reddit dedicated to laughing at all of the broken down Tesla Cybertrucks. Mind you, I've never been a member of r/teslalounge and I'm not really sure how they knew unless they are using bots to crawl all of reddit daily. 0_o I was unaware that the phrase "Hahaha" was so controversial and I've since reach out to Reddit but I do not believe their appeal process is staffed by a human, nor do I believe the decisions to ban me was made by a human. I mean, only a complete idiot would actually ban someone after a mod who drives a ***** cried that someone laughed at me... but then again, these are reddit mods and admins.I don't care what happens at this point with me account as I've lost all faith in the platform at this point, though I feel my situation should be documented as it clearly shows that Reddit admins and mods have full reign to ban someone despite all of us having to agree to the terms of the website... and the website didn't mention anything about mods and admins not liking that someone laughed at their auto-mod silly ban message to a sub-reddit THAT I HAVE NEVER EVEN JOINED!I would like a real person to tell me how dumb both the mod and admin who banned me are. Reddit isn't being held accountable to its users.The mods are out of control, and there's little to no repercussions or recourse for people who are unfairly banned because of mod abuse - as in there's no way to report moderators who go on a power trip to higher officials. reddit is like a police state now - one wrong word, to the wrong moderator and your account will be banned forever with no chance of appeal (even if they falsely purport that as an option)Mods will even try to permaban you for interacting with subreddits they personally don't like - you don't even have to break the rules, they'll frame you and pretend that you did something you didn't.I made an account when I was 15 that made one of the moderators upset - they permabanned me and I haven't been able to access my account or ********************** since. It's been five years, and of course I'm a different adult then how I was as a kid - but there has to be a way to report this business's misconduct towards its users so that the moderators can face appropriate consequences.Initial Complaint

I discovered a community group on the reddit app that I belive is promoting hate speech. There are several examples of posts promoting racial supremacy and inferiority. It appears this content is being passed as fetish play, however I belive there is a distinction between fetish play and spreading hate. I attempted to bring this to the attention of the appropriate team within the app, but was instead banned for a very flimsy reason.Caution: ************* contains lots of pornographic discussion. Attached is a web link to the community as well as as an example of the problematic content. Please advise if I should send my concerns elsewhere. I wholeheartedly believe the propagation of this type of material is harmful, and malevolent and it should be investigated by an external entity, due to the in app moderators refusing to distinguish between fstish play and hatespeech.
