I am disabled w/brain injury and only income is *********** to help pay my utility ****, but I still had trouble paying balances, On/abt end of 2018 a woman showed up at my door and would not leave until I heard how much $ I could save and cancel anytime. After 2 hours she called manager and he assured me I could cancel service anytime; so I agreed to use them. Credits never amted to more than $100.In May 2021 I sold my house and moved to *******, but Clearway advised they did not service ** so I had to email them final paid **** for usage to 5/28/21 to Clearway, O&R, my new lease and copy of **** from new energy company. I did on 7/7/21 yet they continue to **** me now for Reassignment Fee of $600.00 I never heard about before. I called 12 times and finally they answer after waiting on hold for 45+ min, they told me to pay Re Assignment Fee or go into collection!! I closed my account properly and was never told of any Fees additional to paying off usage charges. PLEASE HELP ME!?Business response

Clearway began billing on a second account in January 2021. We mistakenly paid on this second account for 4 months until we caught our error. They are still charging us on this second account. We have continued to pay our correct account with them. We have contacted their customer service several times via email and send a note with copies of the emails return receipt, which they received July 16, 2021. We have not gotten any response from them. The incorrect account number is *********. The amounts we paid in error are: $302.52 in January, $214.78 in February, $233.76 in March and $160.81 in April for a total of $911.87. We would like a refund of this amount and for them to stop billing us on this second account.Business response

We entered into a contract in Oct 2018 being told we would be getting refunds because we were seasonal and woudn't be using all our electric. We continually get emails stating refunds have been issued. We never get the refunds. Recently, we have begun getting bills "because the facility isn't producing enough". I have ALL correspondence (12 calls and/or emails) detailing our issue. They fail to acknowledge receipt - or make promises they don't keep ("our records show you haven't cashed the checks, we'll re-issue).At this point, we just want out of the contract. Due to health reasons, we had to move to ******* in 2019 (6 months a year) and have gradually had to increase to 8 months a year.PLEASE HELP!Business response

Hello, we are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with your solar production and wish we could be of any service, however, we do not have any contracts with you and have not done any business with you sir. I believe you have the wrong company. Your name isnt in our data base and your address listed isnt in California, the state in which we conduct business. I am rejecting this response because:1) ********************* has been on Social Security Disability since ****. ************************* since 2016. We are married. The young gentleman that came to our house in 2018 told us we would never have to pay anything as a result of this contract because we only lived in this house 4 months a year. This is because ******* disability does not allow her to be in the cold weather. It would generate credits to go towards reducing our Eversource ****. Shame on us for not investigating further but a lot was going on and not much was known about how Solar Farms actually worked.2) Contract signed Oct 2018 (credits issued quarterly). Now end of Sept 2021. So, by my count, that's 12 quarters. By their record they have sent 4 refund checks - only 2 of which were cashed. If, as we were told, we would always be getting credits because there is NO WAY we could use what they could generate, what about the other 8 quarters? And, they have know since June 2019 that the checks were uncashed - and have chosen to ignore it (even though I have called or emailed in excess of a dozen times).3) They say "***************** has also received an account credit of $50". We have no idea who this person is and why they are connecting her with our account.4) We never provided a final Eversource **** (and can't) because we are - and have been since 2015 - summer residents only.Their customer service is reprehensible. Along with definite misrepresentation. Then, add harassment with the continued ****-sending - knowing there were uncashed checks promised to be re-issued. Would NEVER recommend them.
