      No way to reach anyone with issues and does not allow you to get support when there is clearly platform IT issues. DO NOT USE. They take peoples money for connects but then because of their platform errors, freelancers lose money on not being able to accept jobs/proposals

      I am filing this complaint regarding my recent negative experience on Upwork. I had a scheduled interview through the platform, and the interviewer failed to show up without any notification or communication. Despite the expectation that professionals on the platform be held accountable for such behavior, there seems to be no direct mechanism for reporting or addressing this issue on Upwork.Upworks reliance on AI-driven ONLY feedback system that appears to prioritize only positive reviews is a concerning approach to conducting business. It leaves users without meaningful recourse when issues arise, and creates an unrealistic portrayal of the services provided through the platform. This lack of transparency and accountability has turned me away from using Upwork for any future projects.Upwork needs to do a better job of holding all users on the platform accountable for their actions and providing a clear, accessible method for reporting no-shows, misconduct, or other professional discrepancies. The current system, which allows problematic behavior to go unchecked, damages user trust and diminishes the overall quality of the platform.I hope Upwork will take this feedback seriously and implement the necessary changes to improve user accountability and provide a more balanced, reliable platform for professionals.

      Both my profiles (freelancer and other) were suspended b/c I posted i needed help created a duplicate account for a social media company. I was promised my profile would be reactivated. it's been over 24 hours and it's not. I'd like it reactivated so I can continue paying vendors I've hired. don't see the need to suspend my freelancer profile also - seems a bit harsh. they are unrelated. don't think i'll post new projects here again if I can avoid it. logon

      Horrible service is a scam and steals their freelancers money. I was blocked from the account that I had worked on for over two years because a client of mine wasnt paying me and I offered alternative options for payment. If Upwork actually cared about the people who worked on their site, they wouldnt end your account because a client is not paying for the services that you have already completed. Instead, I got blocked and all of my money that was pending (thousands) is now in Upworks pocket. When I reached out, Upwork told me that that was their final final decision and basically too bad on me. This is a complete scam. Do not use this website. ******** customer service. Literally stole money from me that I worked for.

      Upwork fails to provide its promised protection from fraudulent conduct by its freelancers. If I could provide less than a one star review I would. This company does not fulfill its contractual obligations to protect its customers from bad actors that utilize its platform.

      I truly do not understand how a business can take your money and then not provide any assistance or customer support when needed. When I logged on to my account I am receiving a couple of different error messages. One of them is stating my account has been limited and the other is stating that there is an error with my billing address. When I called the customer support center, I was redirected to the online customer support center. I began a chat to request help. I was clearly communicating with an **. I explained the issue and I was given a couple of resources to assist myself. I attempted to do as instructed but the issue was not resolved. I then communicated this to the system and I was basically told that my account was suspended and that I should have an email explaining why. When I explained that I had not received an email. The ** started from the beginning asking me to explain my issue. I was then stuck in a loop with the ** . I went through this loop several times with no assistance. I then asked several times to be contacted by a representative and was told I could not speak to anyone. My account was suspended without explanation and the company is refusing to assist me in anyway. I would recommend for anyone looking for freelance work to look elsewhere.

      STAY AWAY FROM UPWORK. One of their freelancers ripped my off, and I had zero recourse. Upwards "mediation" was a sham. Upwork did nothing to get my money back.

      As a professional web and graphic designer with 30 years experience, I was shocked to see all the fake job and project posts on Upwork's platform. And the fact you have to pay "connects" to apply for jobs is really unethical considering 90% of the jobs are bogus or severely underpaid. I looked up the businesses when they actually gave a name and 3 were bogus websites-- just data mining --and Upwork lists them as having hired people before for projects. A chiropractic office actually had call to action buttons on their site about buying mortgages and their text was about healing Cincinnati slipped disc ???????. Would be funny if I wasn't paying to apply for what I thought was a great ********** either the fake companies are hiring people to write nonsense copy for fake websites or Upwork is generating fake projects to make it look like they have work so we pay for more connects to be able to apply. So many are fake and generic and suddenly matched my skillset that I am leaning towards Upwork using ChatGPT to create bogus ads since many are duplicates in verbiage and the pay is sometimes way off. I also noticed as numerous reviews have said, that the minute the jobs post suddenly they already have 30 applicants are are already taken. And most of the jobs are posted in the middle of the night which is common for fake and auto posting accounts. I highly recommend NOT using Upwork or you will waste your time and money trying to get work that if you do find real projects are so poorly paid you will have wasted your time even more. Used to be a decent platform but it's just fake now.
