My wife had been a member at Cyclebar ************* and the membership fee went through my credit card. She had an injury and an ankle surgery in Nov. 2022, and we called Cyclebar ************* to suspend the membership for six months, so they did. The recurring membership ($80/month) re-appeared on my credit card in June 2023 (see attached pic for billing and refund history), since the physical therapist advised that my wife do not participate in such activities, we contacted Cyclebar ************* again trying to terminate the membership through a lot of emails, text messages, and phone calls but none of them got any reply. After the membership charged in July 2023, we decided to visit them and only found out that they had been closed since April 2023 (see attached pic of their close notice). We visited their sister club in ********* but their owner said they cannot reach the ************* owner either. We were left with no choice but to call our credit card company for a refund on the past two months and block further charges from this closed business. Today we received a call from a collection company saying that we owe Cyclebar ************* $700+ and is going through the collection process. My wife and I were shocked, and we went to the club trying to understand what was going on but realized that they are still closed! It is just ridiculous that a closed business keep charging memberships, ignore all the calls and emails and text messages, and send us to collection. Moreover, there is no way that the memberships since this June can add up to $700+, and we highly suspect that they also included the agreed on membership suspension period (Dec. 2022 to May, 2023).Therefore we are complaining through BBB, hoping that you could help us resolve the dispute, get us off of the collection list, and restore the mis-reported credit history, if any. Really appreciate your help!
