Spa installed in December 2018, into a deck in the same location of a 1978 spa. Deck contractor (AG Deck and Fencing Company, Owner) come to bid a new deck. He pointed out the spa was not supported on one side, and it was causing the deck to sag. Spa was not level upon further diligence. Called Derek Erhinger the owner of CCH Pools, and who installed spa. He came to our home in March and tried to put blame on the age of the deck, and challenged us if we had indeed paid for him for installing and supporting the deck in 2018. He continued to say he was not sure what our invoice had outlined, it had been too long. However, he said he would make right by us and to call him when we started the deck project. Invoice addresses install and support of spa, See attached. We let Derek know we would be starting the deck project on April 4th. He then emailed us a work order estimate of $3,000 for his company to come out and "lift spa out of deck and reinstall". I called and explained that was not what was needed. He said that deck contractor wanted that. I called deck contractor he said he did not say to lift it out completely and reinstall. He/We only wanted help exposing the spa, so he would not damage the spa edges, and he wanted Derek to level the spa and ensure it was properly installed; to ensure it would not do same and impede new deck. Derek came on site April 4th, and all agreed on timeline that Derek would come back on April 6th and assist with spa. We agreed on a price of $145/hour for a couple of men to assist; costing no more than 2 hours time. To date, we have not heard from him. Derek has not responded to calls and has not showed up. The deck contractor proceeded to remove the deck boards and reveal the spa. It is very clear that the spa was not installed correctly or properly supported. The invoice from 2018, totaling $9,000 outlines a charge for installing the spa and supporting the deck for $810.
