Business requested that I purchase homeowners insurance for my home when my property was completely burned down due to fire. I am still in the process of generating plans for a rebuild and they are forcing me to purchase homeowners insurance. I have sent them paperwork showing that the home has completely burned down.

My homeowners insurance is impounded into my mortgage payment. CMG is responsible for making the payments to my homeowners insurance and keeping it current. In April, CMG didnt make this payment to my homeowners insurance. I received notifications from my homeowners insurance that the policy was about to expire, and reached out to CMG and was told it was taken care of. I even received email and physical mail from CMG saying my policy was reinstated and everything was taken care of.That was not the case. My homeowners insurance policy expired, yet iam still paying for the expired policy through my mortgage payment.Since April, *** contacted CMG over 20x, and requested to speak with a manager on 6 occasions. Once I was denied the opportunity, and every other time I was told I would receive a call back. It has been over 2 months now and CMG is yet to have a manager call me.In addition, it appears they added their own homeowner insurance plan, and that has caused my mortgage to go up $40/month.In summary, CMG didnt pay my home owners insurance policy, that Iam still currently paying for, then causing my policy to cancel, leading me with no homeowners insurance and no response from CMG for over 2 months

      Complaint: 21811782

I am rejecting this response because: CMG information they provided is not accurate on several levels. Even in their own response, they provide a letter congratulating me on getting coverage, while simultaneously saying that I'm not covered.

Since this complaint was filed even, I received a call from CMG on Thursday. We went over the issue for the 20th time, and I was told I would receive a call back that day. Which is yet to happen.

CMG repeatedly points to the insurance policy not receiving payment and then expiring, yet they never acknowledge the payment is impounded into my mortgage, and this missed payment is due to their mistake. I have had two 3-way phone calls between CMG, and the insurance provider, at CMGs demand, both of which the insurance provider told CMG they are incorrect, and that the payment request was sent on time. Every phone call I have had with CMG, and the insurance provider, results in them pitting me against the other company, and sending me to clean up a mess I didn't make. This is extremely unprofessional.

In summary, I have never missed a mortgage payment. Almost 3 months after this all started, and I'am yet to receive a call back form a manager despite asking for one specifically on 5 occasions. My impounded taxes and insurances fall to the responsibility of the lender paying them, but here I'am with no homeowners insurance, despite never missing a payment.

The only option I have been ever given by CMG, was to pay out of pocket to get my policy reinstated, and then to be reimbursed another day. This is unacceptable to me. In no scenario should a consumer be paying out of pocket, twice, for the companies lapse. What if I didn't have $400 to shell out? Would I be told that I'm SOL on insurance since I can't cover the companies mistake until they pay me back?

      Sincerely,

      *************************

The mortgage I had with CMG was paid in full following the sale of my house in June 2022. I was sent the proceeds of the sale that amounted to $1300.00. A separate check was sent to me with the remaining escrow balance from an insurance payment of $6,000.00. The check was stolen, washed, and cashed by someone that was not me. I was told multiple times to submit an affidavit of forgery, which I complied with multiple times after abiding by waiting periods throughout 2022 and 2021. I filed a police report to no avail. My notarized affidavits of forgery have gone unanswered and the entire problem remains. I stead of fixing this problem CMG gives me the run around and just waited me out hoping I would go away. I want CMG to replace the stolen check since they can look in their records and see the check was not cashed by me.

      Complaint: 21675580

I am rejecting this response because:
      1. CMG states they sent the Affidavit to the bank but did not state which affidavit (I have sent many) or when they sent it.

      2. CMG states they did not find any evidence of mishandling of the documents I have sent, but what about the notorized copies I sent over the last two years that have gone unanswered after they were delivered.

      3. CMG has not provided the reasoning (re: documentation) they used to establish their position and instead rely on the consumer to ask for their documentation. I believe this is another attempt to leave my issue unresolved until I lose interest or give up

      4. I want CMG to reissue the refund check as it was their duty to ensure I receive the funds, and they made no attempt to safeguard its transit.

      5. I want the documentation they used to substantiate their claim they did not mishandle my past affidavits.

      Sincerely,

We have a mortgage with CMG on a property, **************************************. We sold the property and closed on 3/19/2024. We used Reliable Title for the closing. They disbursed a check to pay off our mortgage in its entirety in a prompt manner. CMG still has my online account showing that I not only haven't paid off my mortgage, but now have a late payment of April 1, 2024. I called and the human I finally spoke with checked to see what was going on and said that no payoff check had arrived. I then followed up with Reliable Title and they have proof the check was received by CMG. CMG hasn't presented the payoff check to be cashed! I know this because Reliable Title knows CMG hasn't deposited the check as the funds haven't left the account. I am a tax accountant and it is beyond belief that any company would be so incompetent or cavalier with any funds, but especially a check for over $160,000! I have never been late on a payment and my credit is impeccable. Their failure at their fiduciary responsibility is astounding and extremely disconcerting.

I am rejecting this response because:  I am attaching proof that CMG Mortgage received the payoff funds on 3/21/2024 and an employee named ****************** signed for the check.  CMG did not properly credit my account with the payoff funds until after I called CMG and my title company called CMG on 4/4/2024 to complain and to find out what was going on.  The response I received to my BBB complaint was just further evidence of CMG Mortgage once again lacking integrity.

Made a payment to CMG Mortgage **** on February 19, 2024 for my first payment which was due March 1. Check was cashed by CMG Mortgage on February 26. Tried multiple times to set up autopay however the website said it could not find my information. Called the customer service line *************) multiple times to ask why website does not recognize my information and to verify that my payment was received and can never reach a live person. Left multiple messages and no one ever returns the calls. Emailed ************************** and finally received a message that my payment was received however, I then received a call on March 21 stating I am late on my March 1 payment and threatened to turn this information over to the credit bureau. At this point I am furious as I have NEVER BEEN LATE ON A PAYMENT in the 50+ years I have been paying bills. They then stated the loan servicing company I should be sending payments to had changed but I have never received information on the new loan servicing company. They proceeded to tell me they just sent the information via US Post on March 19 so not sure how they expect payments to be made to a company that I had not yet been informed to send payments to. Spent 3 hours on the phone calling various other numbers within CMG, still with no resolution. This company has the worst customer service.

In July of 2023 we attempted to pay ahead on our mortgage, the payment was applied to principal instead of the next months bill as requested. We incurred a late fee that we were not notified of. In September I was notified via credit bureau that we were 60 days delinquent on our mortgage payment which we were certain was not accurate. We had proof of payment via our bank account. We contacted the company and was informed it was due to unpaid late fees. We paid the late fees September 13th 2023. My mortagage has now been filed to all 3 credit bureaus as delinquent every month since July *************************************************************************************** my vehicle on time and my ability to move forward with purchasing a new home amongst many other challenges. We have contacted this company repeatedly and filed an appeal which we have written proof of it being approved along with written statements saying they would have this rectified and that we did not owe our mortgage payment in March to alleviate financial burden to us. W have been reassured since November that we had completed all necessary items to remove this from the credit Bureau. We filed disputes with all 3 Bureaus ourselves after they did not file any paperwork as they stated they would and they are all pending answers back from the mortgage company now but no one has responded. And as of 3/10/24 my credit was just hit again with a delinquency notice on this mortgage payment that was not paid late. I want financial compensation for this and I want this company investigated for fraud.

My mortgage payment that was paid for the month of March 2024 was $4152. My mortgage payment as contracted when the loan funded should be $3570. I have been paying as a ranged and yesterday there was an increase of almost $600 and I contacted CMG Mortgage to understand what was going on and how the increased came about. the account technician that picked up the phone stated that my payment was going to remain $4159 and I just needed to pay it because my taxes and homeowners insurance went up. I knew for a fact that my taxes went down as there is no more mellow in my neighborhood. I asked her to look into it further. She had such a poor attitude. I asked her to reduce her attitude and to address the way that she was talking to me and be respectful she placed me on about an 11 minute hold and came back to the line Stating that my payment should not be $4159. I asked her for a manager so that I could have my account reviewed the manager that came on the phone. Her name was ******. She said that her employee ID and initials were BMZ before she could look into my account as I was trying to get her title and her name spell correctly , she hung up the phone I tried contacting CMG Mortgage all day yesterday I even left my phone number for them to return my call. I was unsuccessful in contacting them. Additionally, I left an email and asked for them to call me stating that I have this problem I have yet to receive a response. This has happened to me three times since having a mortgage with CMG my payment has fluctuated Without explanation, I am looking for a resolution and to have my payment restored to the contracted amount was or less.

I applied for loss mitigation on my mortgage last summer. I was approved for a loan modification and reduced mortgage payment of 1668 as a result. My first payment was due Feb 1st.I called/spoke with a loss mitigation agent the last week in January to schedule my payment for Feb 1st, and the agent advised the amount due was *******. I scheduled the payment for Feb 1st and it cleared my checking account on the 5th. However for the next couple weeks, I kept receiving messages saying I never made my payment. I finally spoke with a young lady in loss mitigation the week of Feb 16th who confirmed receipt of the payment, the account being current, and no further action being required on my part.I continued receiving communications saying I had not made my February payment, so I contacted CMG again the week of the 26th, and they advised my account was now delinquent because they ran an annual escrow analysis on 2/20/24 which showed a shortage of *******. They automatically took that amount and spread it over 12 months, including Feb 2024 as one of the 12 months, therefore increasing the payment amount due. I never received a letter in the mail to this effect, so I had no idea. They stated that as a result, they held my February payment of ******* in a separate account and that they would not apply the payment until they received the difference of ******, which totals the new payment amount of 1827.20.I expressed that this increased payment places me back in the same situation that led me to apply for loss mitigation and that I could not afford this. She said if I opted to pay the escrow shortage in full, it would restore the previous mortgage payment amount of 1668. I reluctantly agreed to pay the full escrow shortage using my tax return. The young lady applied notes to this affect, and CMG STILL misapplied the funds and kept the increased mortgage. I need them to fix their mistake and restore my reduced mortgage payment immediately. This is THEIR error, not mine.
