Similar to all of the other reviews, Gilbert made promises he couldn’t keep, took a ton of money from many people, and didn’t finish the jobs. Also I’ve had subcontractors coming back asking for money which is absolutely ridiculous and one put a lien on my house after he promised he would pay it. No one can get ahold of him supposedly. Looking for a resolution.

We signed our contract with Central Valley Landscaping in February of 2022. After we received HOA approval, work began in April with an estimated completion date of early September 2022. There were multiple delays due to workers being out sick, issues with permits, etc., but work was continuously being done for about 3 months. After that, work was very intermittent. Our pay schedule was based on milestones. First payment was made on 24Jan2022 as the initial deposit of $23,247 (15%). The second payment was made 25May2022 for $69,830 (45%) after the pool plumbing was complete. The third payment was made 22Aug2022 for $46,553 (30%) concrete framing was complete. Once the third payment was made, barely any work was completed. We had another discussion with Central Valley Landscaping in November and they said they would work hard to get everything done. Barely anything was done in November, then I had another talk with them in January and he admitted to having money problems. He said he overspent on capital equipment and didn't have any money to spend. He asked if we could spend the remaining $15,517 directly to the subcontractors so we could get the work done faster and we declined. He gave us a new schedule with the work projected to be completed in the first week of June, but came around 10 days in all for a few hours each day. His phone has been off for the past three weeks and he hasn't returned any text messages. We have subcontractors contacting us telling us that he owes them and that responsibility passes to us if he doesn't pay. Worker(s) haven't shown up to the house since 02May2023. We've now paid 90% of the project and it was approximated that about 50% of the work has been completed since Central Valley Landscaping abandoned the project.

I paid him a little over 23,000 to landscape my yard. He came and laid a small cement pad and never came back. Stopped responding to text. I only received about 6,000 of work.

I signed a written contract on 10/14/22 with ******* ********** and paid him 5,000 by check to get on schedule. Work began on 10/17/22 which included removing a small sections of grass and pavers, at the end of this day, I paid ******* 20,000 by check after the first day of demo as per the contract. Following this day, I was unable to get ahold of ******* or anyone in his company for over a month. Phone calls and text were never returned and my yard stayed in a state of dismay. I was finally able to get ahold of ******* and found him to be lying about pulling permits for the job with the City of Clovis. I threatened to terminate the contract and ******* assured the job would be worked on and get done. Work slowly began over a several month period to include, install underground water, gas and electrical piping. The above work was completed by employees of this business. Concrete was then poured by a subcontractor. ******* then requested another payment of 20,000 which I paid by check. Work then began on a BBQ island, retaining walls and an arbor. The arbor had a permit pulled by was never checked by the City due to ******* not knowing this was a separate permit and I had to advise it was and request the city come out 5/10/23 through the subcontractor who installed the arbor. This subcontractor has not been paid by Gilbert. A water feature was installed workmanship was defective as water was leaking causing flooding in my yard I had to document with pictures and video to get ******* to fix this work, which it was. ****** was installed and completed. No work was done for a few weeks. ******* was no where to be found. ******* "partner" **** began taking over the job. Another crew came out to install granite and connect gas. Granite was not installed properly, broken in several areas and has continued to break since install due to weight of appliances. - Job site has been left in unsafe manner for months on end causing minor injury to one of my children.
