This is a complaint against aidvantage student loans and their constant harassment of payments when a payment has already been made. Its an insane time right now too and stressful enough as it is to be getting bombarded with email after email after already making a payment. Its just harassment at this point and it needs to be stopped.Initial Complaint

I have parent plus student loans and am working toward PSLF. ****** advised me to consolidate my loans to be eligible for forgiveness and one time adjustment which took me to 119 and that I needed to go on a *** repayment plan. On May 22 2024 they placed me on an Administrative forbearance on my original loans , and was told the forbearance would count toward my PSLF, on May 23 2024 I did a direct consolidation and was told it would take 30- 60 days. On July 24, ********************************************************************* review. I was put on a standard repayment plan that does not qualify for forgiveness and was told not to start repayments and was told to go on forbearance , now again in October 2024 they put me in it again and told me in January 2025 the other repayment plans will start again, that made no sense to me. I understand whats happening in the courts but my direct consolidation ICR plan should have been done before that happened. Student Aid told me Mohela should have put me in the correct repayment plan. I have been given incorrect information all along the way , anytime I called I got different information. I believe now Im beyond the ********************************************************************************My Mohela account number is ************. I would appreciate any help you can give me. Loan is not accurate as EdFinancial indicates every month since April 2024 that my payment is past due even when I have activated autopay. I have called the company every single month since April to solve the issue and have to upload bank statements for them to clear it and this last month, even though I made the "past due" amount the payment was not reflected and the past due amount has more than doubled at this point. After investigating statements, they have not been applying my payments correctly. Have called multiple times and the staff never helps and no one has ever transferred me to a supervisor. Only one person was helpful through this journey, and didn't solve the situation. Refer to the document attached for a detailed timeline of events since April 2024 through September 2024.Initial Complaint

I graduated college in 2015. My federal loans were with navient. I had private loans to pay off so I tried to manage them for awhile but couldnt afford. I struggled greatly with navient from 2015-2019. I made some payment and put my loans into forbearance for a time. They were giving me inaccurate information so after researching my options, I moved my loans to another federal loan servicer, ****. A condition to move my loans was consolidation which I did. My loans were with **** in 2019 but were somehow moved to Aidvantage without my consent during the pandemic. Now my loans are at a much higher interest rate and Aidvantage is telling me that I will accrue $90K in interest which is way more than the original amount I ever took out. I cant afford these payments and I wouldnt have consolidated had I known this would happen because I had loans from 2005-2006 that had 0.5% interest. When I call Aidvantage I either cant get through (wait on call for over an hour only to be told their no longer taking calls and hung up on) or they refer me to the department of education. The department of education is also not taking calls but I was able to speak to someone over chat today. They said there is nothing they can do and keep referring me back to my servicer. I accrued I retest during periods of time that I was not supposed to accrue interest and now Im accruing at an astronomical rate that I will never be able to get from under. There is NO ONE on either side who can help and every month I accrue more interest. I need help. This is so unbelievably unfair and no one is taking any accountability. I didnt agree to these conditions and theyre just moving our loans all over the place without consent and adding interest. When I talked to Aidvantage last night they told me there were too many letters on my account to review with me on the phone and I could review in my account but I cant find them anywhere on my account when I log in. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?!?Initial Complaint

I am reporting Mohela Student Loan servicer for bad business practices and negligence in regards to their communication with clients. I believe the company needs to be investigated, their IT and technology audited, and the customer service department examined for their lack of competence. Their practices are inefficient, predatory, and may result in inaccurate information being reported to the credit bureau. The company is currently transitioning their online account management system (Which began on 2/215/23), which is the system that handles all electronic payments, and continues to lie about the planned end date of the transition. We were originally told it would take 2 business weeks **** Currently, the website is still saying I am in a transition phase with no end date in sight. Due to this, we cannot make online payments to our account. The company also could not guarantee that payments made during this time would post to the account on the effective date, with the only way to make a payment being by check via mail. I spoke with a representative on Tuesday, 3/6, whom informed me that their are no payments due at this time, however, that is not stated anywhere on their website, and the representative would not provide anything in writing to corroborate this. ****** also did not make clear how a check mailed for payment could be assigned to the correct account, making me extremely weary of mailing a payment. I also enrolled in auto debit on 2/14, to which I was told it takes up to 3 billing cycles for that to take effect (not listed anywhere on Auto Debit FAQ). Aside from this, I have made my monthly payments to them every single month, on time, (receipt and email confirmation can be provided) and yet, I still receive "past due" notices from the servicer. They also make paying principal and interest payments extremely confusing by separating the total amounts due each month. I believe Mohela is purposely and maliciously complicating the student loan process.Initial Complaint

I recently submitted document proving my eligibility for teacher loan forgiveness. The documents that I provided proved the schools that I worked at were on the **** directory.I gave paperwork before giving my final paperwork to have my loan put into teacher forbearance as all of my interest had been paid in full. However, despite putting forth the appropriate comprehensive paperwork, I was dismayed to find that edfinancial has not followed the terms of the forgiveness program. Not only was my paperwork denied, but interest accrued on my loan after it should have remained at the approved forbearance amount.Despite my efforts to resolve this matter, including contacting customer service several times through email and phone. I have received an unsatisfactory response .Furthermore, my complaint to the *************************** (CFB) was acknoweldege by Edfinancials Resolution team but I have not received a final answer within the specified deadline.
