Hello *******,I'm so sorry for the late response! My notification ended up in spam for some reason. You may have gotten this worked out with LA Care by now, but if not, we want to help you get that taken care of.We received your application on January 24 at 1:29 pm for a February 1 start date. I see that you contacted us on February 28 midday and spoke to ****** ********* to cancel your application. And, I see that ***** ******* called you today to see if he could help you with the things you mentioned in your BBB complaint. On our side, I do not see a payment submitted. However, you may have made your first payment to LA Care directly. If you never paid LA Care, then likely this coverage will cancel for nonpayment. I doubt that they would send this to collections, but you might want to call them to be certain. We want to make sure that everything gets taken care of for you.**** ******Health for CaliforniaPriority Phone: ************Initial Complaint

This business claims to be a part of Covered California. I fell for it! I gave them my social security number, home and mailing address and phone number. I am very scared that my SS number will be used for identity theft. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I hope that my application is deleted from their data base.Initial Complaint

I requested a refund after canceling a membership I purchased one day after the purchase date. The reason for this is I was under the wrong impression, upon not using the membership and spoke with many agents at this company over a the course of several months, I was instructed to wait. As of today, May 31st, the company informed me that it will not offer me a refund. I was misinformed by said company and the information I was provided with many of their agents were inconsistent. Their behavior in nature was passive aggressive and not very helpful. The company I called for the initial purchase is called Health for California - Covered California Enrollment. The name of the company is where I was under the wrong impression. I am a medical member and was transitioning to Covered California. Turns out, this company isnt exactly Covered California (even though its in their name). The company phone number that I have spoken with many of their agents is **************. Whats interesting is when I searched this phone number, it doesnt belong to Health for California, but rather GlobalHealthInsurers. After being mislead on multiple occasions, my question, is there any accountability within the company? The agent I spoke with this morning said that I shouldnt believe what their agents say or what other agents I may have spoken to are not right. I have been calling the same phone number but the agent I spoke with today made it sound like I was talking to a completely different company. I have all the calls saved and can prove that I have indeed been calling the same phone number.Business Response

I was looking for health insurance and thought I was going to medical site. But I went to **************************************************************** which looks like it's a real site. Since I filled out their form this morning they have called me over 60 times. When I ask them to stop they hang up. The last guy that called, I asked him to stop and he told me no. I asked him to confirm that he won't stop calling me and he said that's correct and was VERY creepy. Please help me. They won't stop.Business Response

******,
What you experienced is extremely frustrating, and I'm so sorry you had to deal with that. We do not do that to our clients. I can assure you that was not us calling you. The caller ID phone numbers on your screenshots are not our phone numbers. Our caller ID is: "Health for CA - ************".
With that said, I have a good idea as to how this happened. There are these websites that sell your information to brokers. And once they do, you get tons of phone calls. Here's the trick! If you are on a website and they ask for your phone number before they tell you how much the health plans cost, THEN RUN!!! Those websites will sell your info to 5-15 brokers, and then they will call you over and over for the next couple weeks.
On our website, healthforcalifornia.com, you'll see that we do not do that. You can view the plans and prices without giving any contact info. We only ask for contact info if you choose to apply for a plan because it's required for enrollment.
Again, I'm so sorry you had this frustrating experience. If there's anything else I can do to help, let me know.
Take care!

I had filled out information for California State Health Insurance just to price compare a variety of policies and this company has consistently called me repeatedly for days on end despite my informing them that I went with a different provider, no longer need assistance, and would like to not be contacted anymore. This was back in November 2023 and has continued to March 2024 and I am still receiving calls from them despite multiple requests to be removed from their call list and having blocked their number (they are rerouting the block using alternate numbers but if I answer it is the same company). Calls and dates are as such:November 21 - 15 calls starting at 12pm and ending at 5pm November 22 - 4 calls starting at 7am and ending at 12pm November 27 - 1 call at 9am November 28 - 2 calls starting at 8am and ending at 5pm (this is when I last answered and told them that if they were to contact me again I would be reporting them for excessively calling me despite multiple requests to not be contacted)Then, this past Friday March 22nd I began receiving calls from them all over again. March 22 - 1 call at 8am March 25 - 1 call at 2pm (I again explained that I had been asked to not be contacted previously, to be removed from any lists, and to again not be contacted as I have coverage at this time).I have never used their services beyond seeking health insurance quotes and been more than patient with an exorbitant amount of phone calls. I thought they had stopped since I had not heard from them for months, but as I was contacted again this last weekend I feel it is time to escalate as that is what I told this business I would do if they continued to not listen to my initially polite (as my frustration grows my politeness wears thin) request to not be contacted further.Business Response

Dear *********,
I am so sorry that you received all those annoying phone calls. I assure you that was not our company. We do not ******* people with phone calls like that. Also, we do not even have you in our system. We would have no way to contact you at all.
With that said, there are other websites that sell your information to brokers. Here's the trick! If you get to a website that asks for your phone number before telling you the price of the health plan, THEN RUN!!! Those websites will sell your info to a bunch of brokers, and then you will get lots of phone calls. I'm sure that's what happened to you. It's really frustrating! If you have already seen the prices and you choose to apply, then of course the legit websites will have to get your contact info during the enrollment process. But they do not need your contact info if you are not applying for a health plan.
Again, I assure you those calls were not from us. We would never do that to you or any of our other customers.
Take care!

Hi ********,
I got your message. And, you are totally correct. We blew it! Your application failed in processing about 8 days ago, and we never notified you. I'm so sorry!
I just called and left you a message. I want to do whatever I can to make this right. So, please give me a ring and let me know what we should do as far as next steps.
I can halt the enrollment, help you get the enrollment through, set you up with an online account, etc. Just let me know what you'd like.
