Re. 24/7 Garage ************************************* (AKA Local Garage Doors) *************************************************** ************** ************** ************** We are seniors (80 & 75 y.o) living at **********************************************************************************************************On 1/1/24, we called for service as our garage door would only rise 3 feet before descending again. **** ******* arrived quickly. He said the spring had broken because the weight of the door needed a stronger spring costing $1246 plus $250 labor. I reluctantly agreed. After installing the spring, the door would then not rise at all -- not even the previous 3 feet. He looked and said it was because the motor had now burned out as well. (just like that?) He charged us $1699 to replace the motor and another $400 labor. He only worked for 75 minutes and charged $650 for labor?! The total was $3934. We objected, but he assured us that they had the best prices and would match any competitor. We called ***** Garage Doors and they said they would have charged half that price--$1306. When we called Amit ***** he became indignant and said that we needed to talk to the owner. We called ***** the owner and left messages, but he has not returned our call. Moreover, the garage door now has a grinding noise when it comes down. He was supposed to send us a warrany that we still have not received. We searched online and have found multiple complaints on **** by others who have been scammed by this company. We would appreciate BBB assistance with a resolution.

I am re issuing a complaint I filed yesterday. I'm changing from not trying to get some of my money back to askingfor some sortof compensation. The reason is. I had local garage doors come to my house for a problem with my garage door. They looked at my garage door opener and told me the motor was bad and had to be replaced. I payed them 1250 dollars to replace the opener. I asked him to leave my old door opener. I have since plugged the the old door opener in and started pushing some of the buttons on the back of the opener. I pushed the program button the the up and down buttons. It is now working fine it goes in both directions as it should. It appears it just needed to be reset. I'm not sure how I made it work but its clearly not a bad motor. I believe the employee of local garage doors took advantage of me and lied about the problem to make more money. I do have the original door opener in good working condition. It's in my garage on my bench.

On October 6, 2023 I found this company on Yelp, in their ad on Yelp they say that the diagnosis is free, I called them because my garage door stopped working, they came, checked the entire system and told me that the sensors needed alignment and the they aligned and charged me $******, after an hour of the technician leaving the door stopped working again, I called them and they sent the same technician again and he said that he found no more problems and that the door was working fine again, then in less than another hour it stopped working again, I called them again and they told me that they would send me a Senior Technician but the Senior technician never showed up for the appointment and at the end of the afternoon he called me and told me that he couldn't make the appointment and that I explained to him what happened with the door, I told him that the first technician came twice, he only aligned the sensors and charged me ****** but that the door stopped working in less than an hour, this Senior Technician told me that in this case the problem It must be the engine and that I had to replace the entire system for $900 and that they would give me a discount of ****** on this new system. Then I started reading about this problem on the internet and I realized that the problem was solved only by replacing the sensors with new ones and so I did, I bought the sensors on Amazon for $31.58 and the problem was solved at the same time.I ask for my money back for ****** because they never fixed the damage and also told me that I had to replace the entire system for $900 when I only had to change the sensors for less than $35.00 It's not fair to pay for a service you didn't receive.I am attaching all the emails that I had with this company Best Regards *************************

I contacted this company by phone, ***************, to schedule a technician to check my garage door opener. He arrived on time on 10-6-22. He examined my garage door opener and said I needed new springs, drums, and cables. I am not that familiar with these things because I have not had a private garage in some time. He quoted me a price of one thousand dollars for the springs and a total of 1500.00 for the work. I agreed and he completed the work. Then he started changing the price and saying it was 1k PER SPRING and 250.00 for the drums and 250.00 for the cable and 300.00 for labor and 9% tax, He then said if I paid by ***** he would eliminate the tax and charge less. He kept changing the pricing and told me the total was 3 thousand dollars. I did not feel that comfortable with this whole episode because of the price changing after the work was completed. He told me to pay by ***** and provided me with a QR code to scan. I did pay this way and he left, however, I felt very uneasy about the whole transactions. I began to research the cost of springs online and found that even the most expensive springs were about 375.00 dollars each. I began to feel that he had been grossly overcharging me. I called the company the next day and I told them I felt I was over charged and the woman I spoke to said she would look into it and someone would call me back by end of day Monday. I never received a call. I called again Wednesday and was told the same story and no one called me back. I asked my friend to call the company and ask for their business license number and they refused to provide it. I see there are other complaints of a similar nature against this company. There seems to be a problem with the address and your company says this address is incorrect. I went on the*** Secretary of State website and looked up this company name and found it registered to*********** at this address ****************************** Please assist in billing adjustment

Consumer Response /* (-5, 5, 2022/11/03) */ I had another company come out to check the garage door opener today because it was not responding to the remote clicker all the time. He made some adjustments to it. He told me the work I had done by Local Garage Doors should have cost 800 dollars TOPS. ************************************** Consumer Response /* (-5, 9, 2022/11/12) */ The company has NOT resolved this complaint with me.
