    Ive been trying to contact modernize remodeling company regarding important documents I need to file my taxes with the **** I had solar panels, new windows, attic insulation and a roof put in my home by modernize remodeling. I also was guaranteed I would receive a $5.000 rebate. The project manager named Zay gave me his word I would receive the $5.000 rebate on a text message and was told on numerous other occasions I would be receiving the rebate. The *** needs a total breakdown of labor and cost for each project I had done to my home. I been trying numerous times to contact modernize remodeling with what I need for tax purposes and they been giving me nothing but the run around, no call backs or simply just getting cut off when they try and transfer my call over to a manager. I have requested to speak with there public relations department and been unsuccessful getting a phone number or transferred over to the department. Modernize remodeling has been ignoring my request or not responding to my messages at all in a 4 to 5 week period. The total cost of all the work that was financed was $113,920 and all I have to show for the project is a finance bill that I been paying monthly.

    I was 68 at the time and my husband 73, blind, handicapped with illness IGG4. My husband wanted the house painted, the roof done. I wanted the garage door repaired too. This company used a call using words of the government rebates and discounts and came to my house under that intention, I stated what I wanted and they insisted for me to get more. They installed solar in my house when I was in ****** for my Brother in laws funeral. They tried to install a fence over my wall, but my son was aware, called me and I said no. I called them through WhatApp and said not to do it. When making recorded loans calls he would hang up 3x if I didn't say things a certain way in 3 different occasions. He would ask to see my phone to check my email. I did not know he was signing my loan documents. He lied about giving recess lights as a gift and then charged the electrical. I never got an Itemized list for cost of materials and work here. Priced at $420,000. I told them the payments were to high, so he sent me a check for $81,883. I returned $20,000 they had sent me to not say anything bad about them + $500 cash. $102,400. This paid 3 of 9 loans they made. Have paid to loans $57,414.17 since March 2023 He made me believe the work done was that total. I got the information for each loan and what it was for since he never gave the information to me. Finding out the outrageous prices I confronted him. He said he wanted to see me in person to work it out that he wanted to help me. I was to upset and didn't want to see him that way. He said he would send the Itemized list and never sent it. He stopped communicating to me. I left message at his office. He called me yesterday. He said the settlement was already made, Today he sent me a written settlement supposedly sign by me. I did not sign any papers for the settlement it was all verbal. I have paper he wrote the amounts of checks and money to send to the loans. I don't deny to pay the just amount for the work done at my home.

    In the original contract I signed the stucco was to be repaired by the company as well as lifetime warranty on paint, paint the hole house and trim. They sent a paint crew out to paint the house 2 weeks later. After the completion I realized that the stucco had not been repaired properly there where and still are extremely noticeable large lines along the out side of my home where the stucco was to be repaired. I then reached out to them for assistance. After about three weeks later they sent a new crew out to try to repair the stucco once again. While attempting to repair the stucco the paint crew over sprayed my walls, trim and windows. The over spray is still on the trim windows and walls. The stucco still looks as it was never repaired correctly. I had to make my first payment to their loan company and I feel as if the job is still incomplete this is unfair. From start to finish it took their company 3 and a half months to paint my home, that time frame seems a little excessive. In the contract it clearly states a lifetime warranty and the life of the paint job is still new so I do not know why they would not honor there contract. I have reached out to the company 2 times and they have yet to give me a response I think they are ignoring me. I have numerous photos that I have sent them and could submit to the BBB

    Hello,

    We had not heard from the customer as a company regarding his claims until we recieved this BBB complaint. We have been in contact with this customer to resolve his claims. We asked him to list his issues he has has as well as pictures for supporting evidence. He claimed to have sent pictures, however, we never got them at that time.

    He eventually sent me the photos and we scheduled someone to go on Monday 8/21 to address the issues he is speaking about as well as wrote down in writing what was needed. 

    We have another appointment to go back on Monday 8/28 to make sure the issues the client has are addressed. 

    Everything should be resolved this Monday. Once complete and customer is 100% satisfied, we will let you know.

    I am rejecting this response because: They have indeed proposed a solution but have yet to complete the job my window still have plastic and tape on them. Paper that was taped to the floor throw about my yard. White stucco that has yet to be painted. Multiple spots that have yet to be touched up due to over spray. The exterior paint job has gone on now for 4 months now!

    Me and modernized remolding have come to an agreement to resolve the issue. They wrote out a new adaptation to the contract stating the payment of 3 months worth of payments to my account to GoodLeap and 300$ for the correction of the rear door.

    Signed **ntract for HVAC, solar, windows July. I asked about permits and was told they would handle all. Solar and HVAC installed in July. Windows installed August. Then trying to get things right and **mpleted became exceedingly difficult.1. No PTO til October for solar (on my initiation with LADWP and prompting). Electric bill Oct/Nov low. Then Dec/Jan bill very high. I told job mgr **** something wrong w/ the solar system. Sometime in winter someone showed w/ no appointment to set up app to run the solar but unable to set it up. Rep of the ** said having difficulty learning how to manage new app; would have to set up when figure it out. ***** later came, unable to set up. Several times I let **** know that someone needed to **me set up the app. I told them **me 2/22 bc they never set a time. The person set the app up & said the reason solar stopped working was bc no app installed. Solar working 2/24. (during this I got texts from **** telling me the job was done, when no one had even shown up to install the app yet). I expect to get credit on the **st of the job for the excess electricity charge from LADWP bc Modernize did not install the necessary app to make the solar panels work. 2. I asked about windows, told they didn't need permits. Last week to close job was presented with amendment stating I had to get the permits. Modernize has to get the permits.3. HVAC not working (not pushing air to heat or **ol 2/3 of house. 62 vs 74 diff rooms). Complained for several months. **** sent *** 10/28 said it was fine. 11/23 **** said HVAC was fine. I demanded it be fixed. Not fixed until 2/3. The fan wasnt on all the way4. I asked for final paperwork to **mplete job; await info on windows for rebate, windows permit, agree to credit for electric bill when solar not working. Awaiting appt 3/20 or 22 w/***** to resolve and pay. 3/15 **** threatened **llections, 3/17 came to my house threatening me to lien my home, remove solar panels. Im afraid of him.
