We went through ********** to order new shower doors. They had Century Shower Doors contact us. Century Shower Doors came to our house on 12/24/24 to measure and doors were ordered and paid for that day. We were told we would have doors installed in 4-8 weeks. It is March 1st and we have not received our doors. At 7 1/2 weeks I contacted the company via text and have only received automatic replies. My husband went to ********** last week to ask for help and they called the company and asked that the company call us/the customer. We only received an automatic reply text, no phone call.

This is a custom made shower enclosure. The lead time clearly states in writing that it is "approximate lead time" and we're doing everything possible to get this completed. The job has one part that is backordered. We will reach out directly to the customer to get this scheduled as soon as possible.

      Complaint: 23006716

I am rejecting this response because: The human who came to our house on 12.24.24 stated the shower door would be installed in 4-8 weeks. It is 3.14.25 and not once has the company called us to explain or discuss the delay. The only correspondence was initiated by us and we only received an automated message in return. We paid for the shower door in full on 12.24.24, and we have not received the product or proper, professional communication. This is unacceptable.

Yesterday we went to ********** to cancel the order and get a refund. We called another company on Thursday, they came out the same day to measure, we put 50% down and we will have the doors in two weeks.

Just curious, what is the "one part that is backordered?" and when was the company planning to tell us, the customer, who paid in full for the product on 12.24.24? Very poor business decorum. We are surprised such a large company, like **********, would do business with a company like this.

      Sincerely,

      **** **********

We apologize but we are really clear as everything is in writing and signed about the approximate lead time. We will be reaching out as soon as the order is ready to be installed.

      Complaint: 23006716

I am rejecting this response because: while true the paperwork states Approximate Lead Time: 4-8 weeks. The person who came to our home on 12.24.24 clearly stated that we would have our doors in 4-8 weeks. We would have never ordered and paid in full for doors that may show up whenever. That is ridiculous. Why even say 4-8 weeks? Also this past Tuesday the 18th was the first personalized text message we have received from the company. In this text they apologized stating they had been texting another phone number, and that the parts have come in and they can now schedule our doors, and gave us a $150 credit for the delay. I responded with what number have you been texting and what parts were back ordered. They did not respond about another number being used, and they said the metal frame was the part on backorder. I feel like we are not only being treated disrespectfully but dishonestly. If there is/was no delay, why are we getting credited $150 for the delay? and they clearly stated a part was on backorder. What other number have they supposedly been communicating with? All very strange business practices.

As I said before we went to ********** a week or so ago and cancelled the order and requested a refund.

      Sincerely,

      **** **********

I am rejecting this response because: I'm not sure if I should accept the response because though we are dissatisfied with the company, we did receive a full refund from **********. We live in a large retirement community and will not recommend this company to anyone. We also, as stated before, have told ********** about our dissatisfaction. I hope they stop recommending or contract with them.

      Sincerely,

On August 29, 2024 i had century shower door come do a measurement on getting a shower door installed. I decided I'd go ahead and get. I paid $1140.00 in full and the sales *** said which is also in writing on my invoice it would be 3 to 6 weeks. I reached out about 9 weeks later (after not hearing a single word from Company) i was told they were experiencing delays and to reach out in 3 more weeks, which i did and was told it would be installed week of Nov 18. Well today is Nov 18th 2024 I've reached out to the company with zero response. I sure would like to know if you even planned on contacting the customer who paid and is waiting for their door or a refund or a schedule so I could make plans to be there for install. A few years ago i bought a door from this same company and it was excellent. Other then delay on door. This time I feel like they took my money and run me around in an arena.

Date of Transaction 4/12/24 ********** hired Century Door to manufacture, deliver and install Shower door. The problem started to occur AFTER the installation, not during the installation. We, customer, brought it to the attention of ********** and Century Door. After several weeks, ********** denied our claim because of our signature at the time of installation. This is NOT about installation but product malfunction shortly after install. Century Shower Door was less than truthful with HD through the process and we are left with stains on our new shower base along with a door and hinge that are also falling apart.

I ordered a custom shower door - very basic, but needed because my shower stall is out of plumb. The installation on 6/6 was unsatisfactory:- Shower stall parts are scratched / blemished - not new condition - Salesman specifically promised my installer would remove old silicone residue - this was not done satisfactorily - Installer made guide marks on fiberglass tub wall and didn't remove them before sealing with clear silicone - Installer left work area dirty and scratched and damaged by toilet seat lid somehow I've called customer service multiple times and received no response. I followed up directly with salesman who said he passed issues and photos along. No follow up from business.

Once we were notified about the service request we reached out to schedule the sales rep to go back to go over any service concern in person. The appointment was set for 6/23. Service call has now been processed and we will follow up with the customer when the parts are ready as they need to be ordered.

I have a defective shower door seal that was installed in August 2023. I have tried to contact customer service by Chat, email and phone on two occasions. I have even tried calling the salesperson who came out to provide the quote and no response at all. The only time I have spoken to them I was told they would call me to arrange a service date and replace the seal but again they did not call. All I'm asking for is to have Century come out and replace the seal, and maybe a slight door adjustment, I would do it myself if I had the seal and thought I would not invalidate the warranty, its and easy job.

The shower doors were purchased on October 4th, 2021. We paid ****** for the shower doors and installation. I am submitting this complaint on behalf of my mother **** ********* Our issues with this company is they assured us the shower doors will close properly and no leaking. Just a couple of weeks later the shower doors were leaking and we noticed the doors were not closing properly. The installer did try to fix the leaking but soon after the doors started to leak again in the same place. I uploaded a video showing the leaking. One of the shower doors have an obvious curve which makes it impossible for the doors to close properly. The difference from one door to the other is almost the thickness of the glass. The installer did try to adjust the panels but there's no fixing a curved glass panel. I uploaded a video showing the curve the glass. In a few months ago the plastic leak guard on the glass is now falling off. I uploaded a picture. All of the issues above are still present. It is almost a year after the installation. We have tried contacting them more than five times via phone and email. The sales representative again came to look at the problem with the doors the leaking, curved panels and the plastic leak guard falling off the door. He kept telling us they will make a note of the issues at least two different times. We were thinking the issues with the shower doors were going to fixed but they were just blowing us off. We checked on their website and it clearly states that they will assure the shower doors will close properly and they would not leak but they fail to do that. I asked them about it and was ignored. They tried to give me Band-Aid fixes that would not fix the issues, I declined. I uploaded a screenshot of their website stating this. Since then they have removed that page from their site. After all this, now conveniently they're telling us that they don't do refunds or exchanges. We have sent them all the pictures uploaded here.

      Business Response

      Date: 08/31/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/08/30) */ We have gone over this concern several times with the customer. We have also advised him that his SIGNED contract very clearly states that we are not able to guarantee water leakage at any openings. This is also signed and stated on his Survey Diagram sheet with the drawn diagram of his actual project. We have made several attempts to help this customer but there is nothing else we can do based on the conditions of his shower. We have followed through with our responsibilities per the terms of the contract. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/08/31) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) No, we were not advised about the terms of the contract. We were simply told to sign. Also after the doors were installed. The installer told us to sign again. He said the signature was for confirming that they installed the doors, nothing more. Again, he failed to disclose the terms for signing. On this company's website it stated they ASSURED the doors will not leak and the doors will close properly. As you can see in the screenshot uploaded. That page doesn't exist anymore on their website. Obviously this was only to get customers and had no intention of following through. One of the panels has the curve to it. Almost the thickness of the glass itself. Which makes it impossible for the doors to close properly. Just because of door swings open and close doesn't mean it closes properly. What are you talking about the "conditions" of the shower? There were only three walls before the installation. You installed the shower doors and you created this conditions. A bulged glass door, the leaking and the plastic water guard falling off. We did not do this, your company did. This response is what we are talking about this company does not want to take responsibility for their bad product and installation. They want to hide behind their nondisclosed contracts. We were simply told to sign and about the great non-existing warranty. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/08/31) */ Again, we have delivered on everything per the signed terms in the signed contract. There is nothing further for us to provide. Consumer Response /* (4200, 12, 2022/08/31) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) This is unacceptable. This company has made false promise, sells damaged products and bad service. When we ordered the shower doors. We did not specially order them with problems. Fix it. The only party responsible for this is the company.
