I am rejecting this response because:The idea is to sell what the customer need not what convenient for you . I do not need two plugs for the toilets, I need the old plugs to to be changed to gfci, which happened to be two. The prices over 20 times the actual price. Dual gfci sells at ********** for $20.

I called because my circuit breaker and electrical fixtures went out. I was told that I need a new circuit board and the estimate was $4,135.00 and that was with a discount. I said that I needed to get a second opinion and was still charged $128.00. I called 03/07/2025 and I was told that I would not get my $128.00 back even though there ad says, "free estimates".Business Response

I had an electrician from Aleco, Al, come to take a look at a power issue. He spent five minutes inspecting a single device and then told me I needed to replace every outlet and the breaker box in my home, which would cost $9K. Despite being 37, he gave me a senior discount to lower the cost closer to $8K. He said if they had to rewire the house it could be close to $65K. Though I was always planning on getting a second opinion, I immediately burst into tears (I was NOT expecting that sort of bill). He tried to pressure me to immediately put a $1K deposit down so they could start work later that week.I have since had two other electricians troubleshoot the issue and tell me Al was scamming me. The device on the patio had incurred water damage and caused a short; replacing every outlet and the breaker was completely uneccessary and would not have resolved the actual issue. An electrician with integrity was able to solve the problem for $600. I think Al saw a single woman unfamiliar with electrical work and figured he could take me for a ride. Absolutely predatory behavior.Business Response

Aleco Electric sent technicians out replace service panel, They determined the house needed to be rewired. Charged $ ***** work started Day they said they needed $4,000 more to upstairs. All outlets worked before they started. When they said they were finished outlets all over house didnt work. I called Aleco they sen 8 different men. Entire upstairs has no electricity washer: dryer no electricity, same with refrigerator. The manager told me I had critters eating cords. Had exterminator come he found no evidence of critters.Had another company come out they said house had not been rewired and nothing grounded. I am rejecting this response because:
I have not been contacted by the business. They have sent over 8 technicians to my home and I am still without electricity. My situation has only been made worse by men coming out. The manager told me it was a critter problem which the exterminator from Peace of Mind said was nonexistent. How can I trust company that fail to get required permission from county to do work.
Sincerely,

Complaint against Aleco Electric, license# ********************, my elderly mother-in-law called Aleco to repair her existing electric strike door release. The technician did not repair that device and told her that her entire house needed to be rewired. He then **** up a contract on his ipad totaling over $****** and asked her for a $1,000 dollar deposit. He had her sign the contract on his iPad and told her he would email her a copy, she stated she does not have a computer so he did not give her a copy of the contract. In the 50 years they have been in the house they never had any electrical issues. On the morning of 11/18 the technicians arrived, my father-in-law sent them away because he didn't want to pay ****** Aleco technician told them they would lose $500 deposit because of not calling the day before. The technicians did not offer to fix her door release even though they were keeping her deposit. Following week my mother-in-law told me about experience. I called Aleco Electric, an employee **** said by policy they will not return the $500. I asked **** to email me the copy of the contract. I sent certified letter to Aleco Electric in ********* on 11/21/2022 giving the name and address of where the job was done and a brief explanation of what transpired and that I would be reporting Aleco to the ********** statelicensing board if they did not return her $500 in a 7 day period. The letter was received by Aleco on 11/23/22 no action was taken. I called Aleco and spoke to ****, I explained the job and asked to speak to a manager, I told him the story, and my previous contacts with the company about attempting to get her full deposit returned to her. He told me he would personally contact me about the matter. I have never recieved a response. When I received a copy of the contract it listed the work done to rewire the house but nothing about repairing her door strike release. ************ Home solicitation sales act protects consumers.Business Response

After I rejected Alecos response to my BBB complaint my mother-in-law informed me that she received her entire deposit in the mail. I am happy for that, but I am not happy that Aleco Electric lied to her and talked her into spending ****** dollars rewiring her home when it was not needed. Is this their normal business practice, to send out technicians that prey on elderly customers who put their trust in Aleco Electric?
