Dollar bill auto sales located at **********************************, financed me and my a vehicle. We have not went past warranty or no rules that are on paper from them. The dealer who sold us the vehicle promised there was nothing wrong with the vehicle, and we dont have to do nothing to it. No oil change no inspection so me and my wife thought everything was okay with the car then 2 months later of having the vehicle it starting overheating on us. So they did not keep there word and provided proof of an full inspection to potentially see that the thermostat would soon to cause the vehicle to over heat. When we called dollar bill auto sales they were rude making it seem as if they cant help us and it was our fault. When the warranty says they will help with the vehicle repairs if driven no more than ***** miles with in the first 90 days. So again failed to keep there word on the contract they did help tow the car to there service center location ******************************. So me and my wife paid $160 out pocket to tow it. It was towed Wednesday May,15 2024. There repair man inspected the vehicle and gave us a fee to fix the vehicle at $175.20 cents so with all this it is very disappointing to have to be promised help if needed but not only promised to help us we have not broke the contract and when we called to see what we can do the guy i spoke with just told us it is not there problem anymore so they cant help us or even take the vehicle back. Please help us this is very wrong. Image below is from Sunday May 12th.Business response

I apologize for the issues you are having. We do give a 90 power train warranty in writing. It is a 3rd party warranty, not our warranty. With vehicles in general, they do require repairs. I'm sure the repair your car needs was called into the warranty company and the $175 if for items not covered by your warranty. Used cars never are covered bumper to bumper like a new car. As far as a tow bill, you should contact your car insurance company because most people have tow insurance and if you do, they will cover that cost for you.Initial Complaint

The preowned vehicle that was purchased 10 months ago and driven ***** miles has far exceeded the 90 day 3000 miles warranty we give you for free. There are warranty company that cover issues like this that could be purchased for unseen repairs. The only thing I can help you with is finding you a shop that will give you our rate to repair it. It's unfortunate, but vehicles break. Let me know if you would like to use one of our vendors to save some money on the repair of your transmission.Initial Complaint

I purchased a vehicle from Dollar Bill **** Sale while test driving the vehicle it had an extreme and unsafe wobble when driving at freeway speeds. I was told by salesmen (****) that the tires needed to be balanced due to sitting so long, some months later I took the vehicle to a local tire shop where Id purchased 4 brand new tires had them mounted and balanced which was no fix to the truck. I leave my house a few days later to pick up my children from school and start proceeding up my driveway at a slow speed and my rear end, drive line, upper and lower control arms all failed simultaneously. I immediately contacted the dealership and told them my wobble was never fixed with the tires being balanced and was basically told there wasnt a thing they could do to help even when I was sold a broken truck. Ive paid out of pocket to have my trucks rear end and everything else listed to be fixed which was ***** $. My suspicion of the truck being broken prior to me buying the truck was confirmed when I took my truck to a shop to get fixed and the mechanic noted everything broken accept the driveline had rust where the breaking points were indicating that theyve been broken for enough time to develop rust on metal. My driveline failed due to the lack of support from the broken rear end getting sold to me. Please help.Business response

I'm not exactly sure why ************* would spend so much money out of his pocket when he has a warranty that is accepted nationwide. I feel these claims are inaccurate. In my career spanning decades, I've never heard of such a thing as he claims. Also sometime mechanics shops will tell you things not true in order to sell you parts not needed, only suggested. Maybe he should be dealing with the place that took his money and not his warranty.Initial Complaint

I purchased a 2015 Kia Rio on July 3, 2022. On July 10, 2022 the check engine light came on in the Car, called the company and took the car into their Dollar Bill Auto Repair Shop, they replaced the Knock sensor. We experienced the key getting stuck in the car door lock and ignition and took the car back in and the key lock was changed along with a new key that only unlocked the drivers side. We discovered that the car had no **** and was missing a tool to take off the hubcaps. There was trouble shipping those things in and waited for Dollar Bill Repair to call us. I called them and an appointment was made for the 2nd week of Nov.. My husband became ill and we could not keep our appointment and were to reshedule. On Nov. 29, the car engine failed and we were towed. My husband called to ask what could be done and spoke to Eric who said since we didn't buy the extended warranty that they could not help us. We spent $8,256 and cannot afford to have a new engine put in the car.Business response

Sorry to hear of the misfortunate situation. We do warranty cars for 90 days or 3000 miles as a good faith. Most used cars sold else where are sold as is. We recommend all our customers to purchase an extended warranty to prevent costly repairs. At this point the vehicle has no warranty and without a warranty, repair cost are up to the owner of the vehicle. We can get you an estimate to replace the engine with a used motor if you like but all repairs would be the cost of the owner of the vehicle.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: I purchased this car for $9500 cash. It was purchased in good faith that Dollar Bill Auto Sales Inc. would not sell a car that the engine was ready to fail. I purchased the car on 7/3/2022, and about 4 days after the "check engine" light came on. I called Dollar Bill Service Center and an appointment was made on 12/12/2022. Tech scanned vehicle and found DTC P0326 Knock Sensor and replaced and retest. See Attached Invoice #27269. A knock Sensor detects noises which happen in the engine? ( So only 4 days after I drive it) the engine is making knock noises?I didn't know what a knock Sensor was then, and trusted Dollar Bill Auto Sales Inc to be an above board company and believed that they would take care of their customers with integrity and fairness.I took the car back to Dollar Bill Service Center because the key got stuck in the starter and the door, I also informed them that the car had no **** or special tool to remove the hubcaps. See attached Invoice #27355. The ignition and door cylinders were changed, and 2 new keys were issued. I didn't find out till 2 weeks later, only the driver's side could be opened with the key. The other 3 doors locks were left unchanged and I could not open the door for passengers unless I got inside the car and reached for all the manual locks. I was told that I would be called back when the special parts arrived. (the **** and tools to change the tires). The first of November I called the company to ask why I hadn't heard from them about the **** and special tools, and they explained that the employee that worked in the office had quit and there was a new employee taking her place. I set up an appointment for around the 15th of Nov. and had to cancel it because my husband came down with Covid and needed to stay home, as this car was our only mode of transportation, I told them I would reschedule when my husband got well.On Nov 29, the engine failed and the car was towed. We are out $9500 cash and we are both retired senior citizens with no way to make extra income to buy another car or replace a car engine. Dollar Bill Auto Sales Inc. should repair our engine on their DOLLAR. Just wondering how many others have been cheated out of their dollars?Business response

The **** and The key have nothing to do with engine failure. As far as knock sensor, they do go bad. If it was an Engine knock, the light would stay on because the new sensor would sense it. You would also be able to hear it and shouldn't keep driving it until complete failure. The only guarantee you can have when buying a car, new or used, is they will break down. This is why we recommend an extended warranty. If cars didn't break, nobody would need one. As you probably see, we have an A+ rating with the BBB. You act like we sell cars with the intention they will break, WE DO NOT. We have a great reputation over the 15+ years in business. We sell inexpensive cars. Unfortunately like I said before, cars break sometimes.Initial Complaint

Purchased a car with an extended warranty from Dollar Auto. Dollar bill auto service center is supposed to fix any repairs with the warranty I purchased. My transmission went out 5 miles from home. Dollar Bill Auto sent my car somewhere else for repair and I am now stuck with a $600 I have to pay out of pocket. I purchased the warranty to cover these things.Business response

We do sell warranties from 3rd party companies. Warranties do not cover 100% of everything. As far as to sending your car elsewhere, we just couldn't accommodate you and recommended other places to take it. Where you went has no bearing on how much it would cost out of pocket. Warranty company tells the shop what they will and won't cover
