      We presented a refund agreement to consumer. Consumer signed the refund agreement and a refund date was set. Consumer than made a complaint.  This issue was settled before the complaint was made.

      I engaged ATS in 2019 to negotiate a payment plan on my behalf. They also told me they would file my 2020, 2021 and 2022 tax returns for me. After four years and $5,000 and multiple requests to see any sort of verifiable evidence that they've done something, anything on my behalf, I not only find out my returns have not been filed -- although I was ensured many times that they have -- but the IRS has flagged my 2021 return for identity fraud. ATS tells me that now I have to call the IRS and sort it out myself. They also told me that the reason those returns haven't been filed -- although I was told many times that they have -- was my fault. They've spent four years stringing me along, bouncing me from one person to the next, avoiding my attempts to communicate with them, trying to convince me they were working diligently on my behalf when I have no reason to believe they've done anything at all. So I fired them this month which immediately triggered an email from someone named Craig who said that he was requesting a currently not collectable (CNC) status for me and so for all intents and purposes my case had been resolved! It's so absurd it's comical. A CNC status means the IRS considers you still owe them money but they won't engage in collection efforts but the interest, fees, fines etc. continue to accumulate which IS NOT what I hired them for. I see from the other reviews here that they have done that many times for customers which requires nothing more than a request and a tax form be sent to the IRS. Something anyone could do themselves for the cost of a postage stamp. ATS is either incompetent or an outright fraud. I too will report them to all the appropriate agencies. Any reply they provide to my review will just be a continuation of their unethical business practices. Don't fall for it.

      We here at Anthem Tax take consumer concerns very seriously.  So much so,  we have a neutral third party mediator that we sometimes ask to get involved to give us a true evaluation of the particular concern and what we can do to not only satisfy the consumer, but to advise us to help us avoid any concerns in the future like the one consumer has.  We asked the mediator to reach out to the consumer.  The issue is the consumer lives internationally and is not available by phone.  When our mediator reached out to consumer via email,  he was met with a aggressive reply that he refused to speak to the mediator.  This was done knowing that the mediator was there to help consumer and made this clear to consumer.  However, consumer refused.  Considering this,  we invite the consumer to call us here directly so we can try to solve this issue.  We also invite consumer to call back the mediator as this will definitely speed of the process.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      It's their stock reply, it's meaningless. I have found other reviews about their 'mediator' and I read his website. It's a guy named Todd Lewis, who is a hired gun to get bad reviews buried and try and spin clients in a negative light to make their reviews seem unfair. I told him there was nothing unfair about my review and I didn't want my review buried so I refused to engage him.

      In my opinion this company is either grossly incompetent or they are a scam, either way I afforded them four years of patience and trust, $5,000 I'll never get back and I hope others read more complaints about them so they don't get scammed as well.

      We have called and emailed consumer numerous times.  he requested that our third party complaint mediator not reach out to him.  We agreed and had our in house representative reach out.  Her attempts were also unsuccessful  Consumer has not responded.  Additionally,  consumer has made reviews on three other review sites.  At this point, we are starting to believe that consumer has no desire to allow us to try to settle this issue.  It appears consumer just wants to tarnish our name eventhough we have made over a half dozen attempts to contact him.

      It's just more of the same stall tactics and bouncing clients around. I've heard horror stories about their 'third party' and his website says that he buries bad reviews for companies. I don't want my reviews buried, I want them out there for everyone to see. They had four years to do what I paid them to do, there's no reason to waste another minute with them.

      In 2019 I hired them to do a tax resolution and it was to include the 2 years before. I paid them $5000. I still don't have a resolution. The asked for a additional $1200 for them to do a resolution for 2020, 2022, 2023. It was suppose to take care of everything and I wouldn't owe any more money and I needed to file 2023 on my own. I spoke with them today and they told me I would need to pay them $2500 for the resolution. I as told that the $1200 would be it and now they are telling me Was only to file. I've paid them $7000 to resolve my taxes. Its been 4 years and they have not resolved anything. I was in debt $40- $50,000 now I'm in debt with the IRS for $100,000 I was quoted in 2019 $5000 for their service and now its more so $10,000

I requested a refund and they just want to refund $1500. I've been scammed. Anthem claims they charge $250.00 for consultation and it was suppose to be free plus padded the charges. Bbb I need resolution. I've been robbed.

      On 19 Nov I received a phone call from G*** ******' Quality Assurance Dept from Anthem Tax Consultant.  She said they are a buisness and that I need to understand. I said. No I want my money and then she said I will offer $2000.00. To retract my complaint with you.  Orig***lly the offer was $1500.  I told her it's hard to believe your company worked over $2 thousand dollars when the Rep was waiting for documents from me.  How....I notified Mr. Beau I want my refund on 14 November

        When did this work occurred surely not after i requested my refund

        I was scammed and taken advantage of.  And the fact that Miss G*** increased my refund tells me something fishy and fraudulent had occurred. I have a witness who heard the whole conversation because i had  G*** Anthem Tax consultant.  On speaker phone. I'm so upset I'm thinking of lodging a complaint with the air force agency. And contacting someone in the News.  I am alone and almost homeless and when I told  G*** she Said you got to understand we are a buisness. Yes  i said but a buisness without integrity.

      We have been working with this consumer for a good number of weeks now to try to rectify this issue.  Prior to making this complaint,  we had sent out a refund agreement numerous times to consumer.  She unfortunately did not have the technology to return our paperwork to us.  We attempted numerous different ways to accommodate her.  Out of frustration,  consumer decided to make a complaint. Shortly after making the complaint, a member of our staff was able to walk consumer through the DocuSign process. This complaint was a result of consumers ***bility to return a document due to limited accessibility, not because of Anthem's lack of action and desire to resolve the issue.

      I decided around covid that I was going to see about settling taxes because I was not working really or making much money and had to figure a way to pay and consolidate bills and debts. I decided to sign up for anthem tax to rid some irs back tax. I then was promoted higher at work and ended up making enough money to take care of things worry free. I had a pay plan set up with united consumer Finance which I paid around 100$ a month to pay anthem. This was just paid in full april of 2023. I tried to cancel to stop making payments but they stated that they already paid anthem and I had to pay them the funds. I wanted this to be cancelled I never submitted documents or anything to the case manager it's been over a year or more. Now they are stating my case closed and I have to pay a reinstatement fee for services I never used or recieved. They are refusing to refund me back the money I paid and now are requesting more money for reinstatement of the case. This is absolutely insane that I paid in full for service that I never used and now they are requesting more money from me. I want refunded for services that I never received and I refuse to pay them anything further. They claim I can't recieve a refund because I was past a 30 day response from them and breached contract. This is ridiculous and also I received emails from 2 different case managers which I responded to one and never got a response due to a role change. This is a bogus company looking for money and I just want reimbursed back for services I never went through with yet paid them in full. Pretty much right now they took my money and now want more from me. I attached the emails I recieved from them and the payments I made showing paid in full for 36 months. I want a refund back for these services I paid for and never recieved because I never went through with the program but paid for it in full. I never even received an email from the new case manager designated to me so how do you do anything or respond

      Entered into contract 12/15/21 to negotiate with IRS to reduce fees and set up payment plan. Anthem was paid $3,950 for this specific service. By 3/15/22, I heard nothing back from them on anything. Then all the sudden they requested info from me which I provided. I sent email back to Lambert (mgr) how dissatisfied I was on the process. Not until October 11, 2022, do I get email my case is now moved to another case Mgr. Yet still nothing had been done in 7 months. 3/22/23, get email from Anthem asking for same info I previously sent A YEAR AGO.. 4/3/23, Anthem sent a 433-A financial statement. 7/6/23 Anthem emailed they were still negotiating with IRS. 9/22/23, spoke with case Mgr about me case. I asked what fees were negotiated down. They never said. Once I got what they claimed was a resolution showed no fees were negotiated, in fact were higher. The fees are almost 50% of what I originally owed IRS. So what did Anthem actually do? NOTHING. They stalled most of the time with no progress. Never provided updates till I asked. My intention is to sue them for breach of contract for the full amount I paid them. I could have slapped numbers on a spreadsheet for free. The service they claim to provide is bogus and wasted 2 years of my time getting this resolved. I am so outraged. I got no where.

      I contacted Anthem to help with my tax issue, They immediately requested a large amount to handle a resolution. $ 15,000.00. I paid them in full up front. They contacted the IRS and got me in a non collection status. I was not advised this was only temporary and really not RESOLVING my issue. I still have the debt and getting demands from the IRS for monies. They left me with this horrible tax problem still with no resolution at all. Now I'm out 15,000 and getting demand now for my past taxes I paid them to help with..

      Paid $2700 upfront And was pressured to pay the same amount again I argued that they needed to show me something for my money and was pressured into paying it anyway to just over $5000. Every time my wife or myself contact them, they say they will get back to us and never do we’ve had three different names with three different phone numbers who supposedly was working on our taxes. Three different occasions we had to send the same tax records paperwork to them because the person before supposedly lost them…?? I called two days ago asking for some answers. It’s been well over 10 months and was told that somebody would get back to me and less than 48 hours here. We are two days later and I can’t even get anybody to answer the phone at this point we are going to consult with an attorney. We have been ripped off for $5000 for all the reviews that say they are such a great company they have done absolutely nothing for us but take our money and keep us guessing as to whether our taxes will ever be straightened out. When I do get a live person, they act like they’re very understanding and want to help and tell me that somebody will get back to me again months later no one has ever returned our call. I would not recommend this company to anyone they are total frauds are. We now have to try and recover our money for which we got no services. I don’t even know if my taxes got filed last year they were supposed to of done that there is no communication at all. At the very least, you would think they could send me some kind of record as to what they have done or what they’re working on but no, we get absolutely nothing. Very upset and not sure what we can do to try and get our money back. Do not trust this company!!

      We here at Anthem Tax take client concerns very seriously, and we all try to work out disagreements.  However, we are having difficulty working with this consumer.  Our complaint handler reached out to the consumer, and after many back and forth conversations, worked out a refund agreement that the consumer signed.  Just after signing the agreement, the consumer then went on and made another complaint on line.  Consumer made this complaint, after he signed.  Puzzled by this, our complaint handler asked consumer why he would do this.  Extremely offended  by this consumers lashes out by calling and yelling at our complaint handler and writing aggressive emails stating we are harassing him and he is going to call his lawyer. We offered to talk to the consumer's attorney but he refused.  We were happy to put this behind both of us but it  seems like consumer may be emotionally charged and a bit unreasonable.  We are happy to offer the signed refund agreement, but consumer stated they signed under duress which was not the case.

      I am rejecting this response because: we have never been contacted by Athem tax services by phone or email. To date we have not gotten a refund nor any type of communication no documentation of any kind. A third-party reached out to us and I told him I wasn’t interested in any type of arbitration services. We had a long lengthy conversations about that we wanted something that shows that if we were going to have to give them $1200 what they did for that money we never got anything but this guy calling and send an email after email harassing us. I finally sent him an email and told him that I no longer want him to be involved. This is between us and anthem tax we did not ask for arbitration, nor do we want arbitration. He insisted that he was going to get paid one way or another. We intern told him fine. We are going to follow up with an attorney and the IRS because this is fraud on the worst level anthem tax services, never talk to me, nor my significant other about anything other than wanting more money, and wanting more documents from us, but they never in a 10 month period showed us anything that they have done any type of service for us I spoke to a person from anthem tax who informed me that they put us on the back burner her words because they didn’t like my attitude. This is not professional, but after 10 months and almost $5000, we wanted answers, and all we’ve gotten is harassed by a third-party and nothing from anthem, and we have never received a refund . I received an email thinking it was from anthem tax signing that they would give us a full refund at the time I signed email back. I got a return email from again the third party, whom I didn’t want involved stating that we had filed a complaint, and that until we remove that complaint, they would not refund her money the whole reason for him getting involved in communicating with us is because we filed a complaint after 10 months of nothing. If you can’t see, or determine that these people have done nothing but take money from us I don’t know what to say. I do know, however did our taxes are worse than I’ve ever been, and farmers were say after involving this company that supposed to be A+ better rated who did absolutely nothing for us, but causes more problems, and everybody seems to want to side with them at what point does somebody recognize that almost $5000 later we got nothing out of them and we’re coming up on a year that has to say something to somebody. Anthem tax is the worst in the business. The fact that they won’t even return a phone call should say something the fact that we repetitively called him, asking for some kind of documentation and getting nothing should say something anthem tax is a liar, a thief, and they should not be in business.

      Unfortunately the events never transpired the way consumer is suggesting that they did.  at no time did the consumer ever say they were not interested in mediation services.  In fact our mediator (Not arbitrator) received a copy of the signed refund agreement.  The consumer was in agreement, then did a complete 180 and now started making complaints everywhere/  Perhaps consumer had a bad day and wanted to take it out on us.  Bottom line is we made a refund proposal which the consumer agreed with, then rejected.  we continue to offer the consumer a refund for the sake of compromise.  However, it seems like consumer will never be happy no matter any of our efforts.

      I paid for the services of Anthem Tax Services to help with my tax problems. I paid all the required fee upfront. There was issues with their service upfront as they claimed they provided the service of issuing a document I needed for my citizenship requirement. This was a request I asked and was assured that they can assist. They assured me that I would make a payment plan with the Collection agency connected with the IRS and they would later contact the IRS and work on my case to lessen what I owe. I received a letter from the IRS letting me know that Anthem Tax Services is terminating their Power of Attorney as they no longer represent me. I was shocked and the people I was initially dealing with was very rude and unprofessional. It was through their customer service who reviewed the tapes and that was then that they processed paperwork and mailed it to the IRS. I received denial letter back from the IRS and forwarded it to the Anthem and their response is , "I am sorry the IRS has denied your Reasonable Cause Penalty Abatement. Unfortunately, I am not sure what you are requesting from Anthem at this time. Anthem can not supersede the decision of the IRS." I came to them in the hope of them helping me. All they did so far was get me into a payment plan to pay the whole amount with interest. They do not want to help further. I really feel that I was scammed by this company. They were nice until they got my payment and they did not deliver or even tried to call to advice what to expect if the claim gets denied by the IRS.

      It was communicated to me that a representative from Anthem will contact me regarding the resolution of this matter.  I spoke to the company representing Anthem on 8/28 stating that they will respond to my complaint with the BBB.  As if 2:43pm 8/31, I have not received any call or email from Anthem Tax Services.  I have 7 days to respond to BBB if I am satisfied with the result of my discussion with the company representing Anthem.  No one has reached out to discuss resolution.  I only spoken to the PR firm.
