On October 07, 2024, I went to this Hoblit Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealer to purchase a truck and they sold me a dead 2025 Ram1500. The salesman **** ******** told me on the phone before I pick up the truck that the truck is dead and they cannot jump start however, they said it was the battery so they will replace it with a new one. Three days after I purchased the truck, the engine goes dead again. I reached out to **** the salesman and he said that his manager *** ********* want me to take it to the nearest *** dealer to get it repair. I took it to the nearest dealer and they found out that one of the people from Hoblit blew the battery fuse so the fee is $450 and it is not under manufacture warrantee. I update this to **** and he told me to move forward with the repair and his manager will approve to reimburse me. After the truck got repaired, I sent **** the receipt with the repair report and he stated that his general manager *** refused to reimburse me. All I need is for this dealer to reimburse me the repair fees of $450 because they sold me a dead truck and refused to fix it. Thank You

I have reviewed the complaint in detail and I have reviewed the steps and process around how the initial sale was completed. There are several discrepancies in this story and timeline and some things that were omitted on the part of the client. However, in the light of all that has transpired, I think the best course of action is for each party to jump on a call and settle this.

I will reach out to the client today and hopefully put an end to all of this. I find it a poor use of everyone's time and efforts. I will do my best to make it right.

I purchased a vehicle ******* 4Runner) from Hoblit Dodge Dealer in ********, ** on July 30th, 2023. When signing the paperwork for the auto loan, I was informed that Hoblit Dodge would be submitting all paperwork including vehicle registration. That I would receive my registration paperwork, including license plates within 2 months. It is now November 27th, ********************************************************* license plates yet. I have tried calling ********************** multiple times and only get the voicemail. no one has returned my calls. My auto loan is currently through ****** ************* A representative from ****** has called me to let me know that they are waiting for the title of the vehicle because they have already paid the loan amount / money to Hoblit Dodge Dealer. Also, they have reached out to Hoblit Dodge dealer with no response and that ****** just wanted me to know the current situation. I informed ****** ************ representative that I have also called Hoblit Dodge and waiting for a call back from Hoblit Dodge. I received a letter from ********** of ***** Vehicle (DMV) stating that my vehicle registration is incomplete, and I need to complete it before registration expires. I am unable to complete this as this is part of Hoblit Dodge's responsibility (new vehicle purchase). Please help in resolving this matter. I would like to have my vehicle registered completely by Hoblit Dodge and receive all necessary paperwork so I can further register my vehicle in the future, prevent any issues with proper registration ownership. DMV did state in the letter I can get in trouble for driving without proper/complete registration. I would like to avoid this as I purchased this vehicle from Hoblit Dodge and have made a few monthly payments with ****** ************* It is a hassle calling Hoblit Dodge and speaking with someone. I only get voicemail or if someone answers, s/he tells me s/he cannot help me. just transfers me to a voicemail.

We completely understand **************** frustration with the registration process. We should this week receive the title from the out of state ************ we paid off when it was originally traded in back in June, 2023. We are being told we will have the title to the vehicle this week and we will expedite the registration process with CA DMV.

To clarify, we have attempted to call ************ back. His number does not allow for message to be left. In addition, we speak to ****** CU every week since we are one of their largest dealers. There is nothing they can do nor can we if a title is present. They are completely in the loop on this file and have been since the file was funded with them in August 2023.

So that everyone is clear, this was an out of state title, held by an out of state ************. Once traded in back in June, we paid off the original lien and requested the title for processing. (June 22, 2023) Since the lienholder and title we out of state, our store could not produce a KSR on the registration. Had we been able to, we could have seen that the title needed to have TWO signatures on it not one. This could have held up the processing on the lienholder side. This is our guess. In addition, **** was relied on to deliver us the title in a timely fashion, and we all know how well our postal service works.

In any event, we have some confirmation of a title due this week and we promise to complete the registration process promptly.  At the end of the day, there is no harm done, no fees due, no penalties due from anyone, just a waiting period that can be annoying. We are sorry that it has taken this long, but most of delay is not in our control. ***********, you can all the store anytime can speak to ***** (Ext 121 or **************** 149) ************. Neither of us have had a message from you ever about this or you would have received a call back.

Again, it should be cleared up this week.

I am rejecting this response because: I do not appreciate Hoblit stating that "neither of us have had a message from you ever about this or you would have received a call back." regarding Hoblit dealership's reply "his number does not allow for message to be left." That is false. my phone number which is a cellular phone DOES allow for voicemails to be completed by any caller. I have tested this myself.  I have called and left several voicemails with no return phone calls. If someone did call me back, and received the voicemail, s/he could have left a voicemail confirming s/he received my message. due to no response and unable to get in contact with anyone regarding this matter. The problem is not being able to contact or talk to anyone about the status. And now receiving a letter from the DMV. For that reason, I reached out to BBB to help me resolve this issue. On November 22nd, 2023, a voicemail was left for *****. I also called before that date (Tuesday, November 21st, 2023 and Monday the 20th) when I received the notice from DMV regarding the incomplete registration.  Their customer service is unprofessional and unacceptable. I have also tried reaching out to the sales representative who dealt with me on the day of the sale regarding another issue and no response from him either.

If there was a title issue prior to selling the vehicle to me, they should not have sold it. Title should have been in their hands before reselling the vehicle. However, that was not the case and now DMV is reaching out to me to complete the process which is very stressful and frustrating.

All I'm asking for is to get this resolved professionally with open communication and not go back and forth about mail delay or that a message was not received. Per Hoblit, "delay is not in our control."  The title should have been with the dealership prior to selling the vehicle to me. I would just like to have all paperwork completed and get the registration done so I know I can comfortably drive the vehicle and not get pulled over due to incomplete vehicle registration.

Per Hoblit's response, "We are being told we will have the title to the vehicle this week and we will expedite the registration process with CA DMV." I will wait to see if I receive anything in the mail. In the meantime, I would like to keep this issue open until all paperwork and registration is completed and received by all parties.

I appreciate the quick response. I hope we can resolve this as soon as possible and I won't have to call the store/dealership anymore.

We are working on finalizing the registration this week and our office manager is in contact with the client.

I am rejecting this response because:

In regards to complaint ID#: ********.

To whom it may concern, I am writing a follow up to my complaint back from November 2023.

I first wrote to you on November 27th, 2023. this was in regards to Hoblit Chrysler Jeep Dodge, Inc. not responding to my calls or voicemails that were left for a representative from their dealership to call back. The complaint included Hoblit selling me a car without having the proper documentation (car title). Therefore, they have not been able to complete the car registration with ********** of ***** Vehicle (DMV).

Since my first message and other messages from November, it is now Thursday, February 22nd,2024. I still have not received a complete registration from Hoblit.
The last time I spoke with them was end of December and I was informed they sent the registration to DMV but there was some error that had to be fixed. I was informed it would take one week. However, it is almost end of February and I still haven't received anything.

The vehicle should not have been sold without the title in the dealerships hands. It should not have taken this long (since July 2023) when I purchased the vehicle to receive the registration.
I continue to make my monthly payments to the bank (****** Credit Union).

I would like for something to be resolved due to the number of months this has taken and Hoblit team is not being responsive or showing any concerns with the current status. I feel and believe they are not doing anything to expedite this and just making excuses to not have to deal with this matter. otherwise it would not take months and still no resolution.

I would appreciate this being looked into.

    THank you,
    *******************

We completely understand **************** frustration. We share in his frustration. We have explained that we had to deal with a lien in ****** and having to wait for the Nevada DMV to clear the lien in order for us complete his registration. ***** in our office spoke to ************ and he should by now have received his registration information. I understand that this can seem unorthodox to take this long, and it somewhat is, but it is not the worst we have seen. Selling a car in CA does not require the dealership to have the title in hand. Its perfectly legal to sell a car that does not have a title when the vehicle has a lienholder. Out of state liens are sometimes difficult to clear and this one was no different. However, it has been cleared and attached is the proof of his registration completion. We now consider this matter closed and we are sorry that it took this long to complete. Most of this was out of our control as we stated several times.

Dishonest cowards. Terrible communication after-the-fact. They put on a great front prior to the purchase, but once the deal is done, you will absolutely get the run-around. Classic example of "used car salesmen." Purchased a 2022 Chrysler Pacifica via the internet last month, which was marketed with pristine photos. I inquired about what looked to be a long scratch in one area, and the salesman, *************************************, sent a phone photo stating "no scratch." That was true. What he chose to OMIT were the other dents and scratches two feet away and later said he "didn't notice those." One of which is a ********* with poor attempt at touch up paint, and another door ding only a few inches away from that one. The bumper also has serious paint wear. None of this (or any of the multiple dings) were reflected in any of the photos. I was told to get an estimate for the repairs, then told the cost was too high and the Sales Manager "refuses to make a used car new again." GM ************************* offered to "send touch up paint" and that was the best he could do. Once these issues came up, all phone communication stopped, despite leaving messages and asking for a call back. Only got a few replies via email, but again, classic BS answers. My father spent 20 years in the auto sales industry and did his utmost to treat customers with integrity and truly give them superior customer service. The sales team and General Manager at Hoblit represent the worst in the industry.

Client purchased on March 19,2023, a Pre-Owned Certified 2022 Chrysler Pacifica with ****** on the odometer. This was mostly an online purchase, at least a lot of the communication was handled online through email and text with our sales associate. The client was most fixated on price and when we could not accommodate his offer, he signed off and went dark. (03.04.2023) It was not until several weeks later that he saw a reduction in price and inquired again about the van, however, he was still not satisfied with our online price and wanted to negotiate it down even more. A few days of back and forth and another price concession and we make a deal. Mind you, he says he has vast knowledge of the car business due to his father having 20yrs in the industry. He makes sure we know this upfront, yet he never asks for any details, pics or anything about the van and its condition. (by the pics below, I can see why. It was in very good condition) Just at one point he sees what a scratch in a picture and questions could be it, yet it's not a scratch. The process to finalize the deal was for us to drive the vehicle to OR from CA to deliver the van. We did deliver it to his home where he could have easily looked over the van and turned it away and if it has such extensive issues to cause a body shop to estimate repairs at $2891.00; but he did not, he accepted it. Then, 4.8.2023, he sends correspondence that he finally had time to wash the van and guess what, he finds scratches and dings and a rear bumper that needs repair. So two weeks after delivery he expects us to spend close to $3000.00 at a body shop. The most glaring is the rear bumper that shows wear and scratches. What he failed to mention is the move he made from LA to OR with the van to move his family. So, we are to believe that there was nothing damaged in the time he had the van, no dings were made and no one scratched the rear bumper during the move? We have the photos of the van used in our online 360' system. We have the exact carousel of pics that were posted online and the available FULL MOTION 360 photos he had access to. You folks be the judge. Look over the photos and tell us that you see $3000.00 in damage and then maybe we have a conversation about repairs.
Our company has been in business for a very long time. We do not get very many people taking to social media and posting like this or reporting us to you, BBB. When they do we address it and try to find a middle ground. In this circumstance, there is no middle ground. Name calling, tantrum throwing antics and smearing our name on social sites gets you nowhere with us. Thinking you are entitled to us fixing a vehicle weeks after you have had it, used it for a move and use the "I just now had time to wash it" does not sit well with us. Its a pre-owned vehicle, with normal preowned wear and tear for ****** miles. ******** above that, you were responsible for, not us.
See the link here of the vehicle and how the vehicle was represented:
    ******************************************************************************************************************
Attached are the pics the client sent us. PDR- (paintless dent repair issues, if they were even there) The estimate of the repairs, $2891.00-exorbitant to say the least.
Our resolution- enjoy the van. You got a fantastic deal that was delivered to your home and move on. We are not paying for the repairs. Also, don't call people liars, cowards, and other foul names on public forums just to try and intimidate a company to pay for things that are unjustified.
