I entered into contract with GWB on 11/11/2020. Paid a deposit of $3,000.00 at that point and then another ********* on November 11 2020 to this date I have nothing but broken promises and excuse after excuse. At this point I have over 60K invested from tree removal to plumbing and electrical work not to mention the foundation and floor concrete work all ready by the time I was promised the building would be complete - the second promised date. I was told June/July 2021 then that was moved to Oct/Nov 2021 then it moved to Feb/March and now I am being told maybe it could possibly, potentially be done by June/July 2022. My building permit was requested approved and paid for on Feb 23,2021. I also have 16K in garage doors ordered in May ***************************************************************************************** I need to start paying rent for storage.I was required to redo the foundation engineering (another ****) as this was a "monolithic" pour and that this was not advised for this area and the building. In December ************************************************************************ March via email. When I emailed called and texted I again received an email from the project manager stating: "I do not show anything definitive for the shipping date yet but we are getting closer. Based on your place in the queue I'd say that sometime in March is still a possibility. We are still in the process of getting the shop geared up to run at capacity at which point we expect things to move fast."My contract says average of 12 weeks which was the expectation set by them - not me. Clearly this is a misleading and fraudulent statement they have told both myself and others. (looking at the other reviews). I am also in contact with an attorney to review my contract rights (there is only a termination by GWB) I need a refund or a delivery of the building as promised MULTIPLE times.I understand manufacturing delays but this is unacceptable and ridiculous.Business response

I purchased a building last year , that was delivered September of 2021. Not all the parts were delivered at that time. Company contacted, parts were ordered to finish my building. The parts arrived 10/21/21 by Fed Ex. I was billed for the delivered parts , the amount of $154.00. Since I was billed and not the company . The company was contacted at least 4 times , to resolve this matter. Every time I am assured that it will be paid by Great Western Building. FOUR months later I am still receiving a ****. I will pay the **** to avoid collections as stated in my last ****. I expect to be reimbursed for the shipping cost, that was not due to my negligence. All shipping costs were paid prior to delivery of my shop .Business response

I entered into a contract with Great Western for a steel building in early March 2021. I was verbally told that the building might take as long as 5 months to fabricate and deliver. When that delivery window drew near I was told that my delivery had been delayed until November 15. I called GWB on October 15 to verify my delivery was on track only to be told I won't be seeing my building until sometime next year. They apparently did not feel it was important to let me know about the further delay and, had I not called them, I suspect my building erector and I would have been standing clueless on an empty building site on November 15. If things go as GWB now says they will (all I have been told is sometime next year), I will most likely have waited over year for a simple 24x36 building with a dirt floor. Meanwhile, GWB is busy making interest on my deposit money and not fabricating my building. I am losing business income every month this project is delayed. I need this building.Business response

Mr. ********,
We can certainly appreciate your frustration with the industry wide delays in steel supply and production. Unfortunately, the lead times extended considerably after you placed your order, and we are doing everything in our power to get you and all our customers their buildings as quickly as we can. We agree you should have been notified immediately when your delivery date changed. Our project managers are expected to check in with you once per week, and our delivery coordinator is expected to communicate updates as soon as they occur. That means two staff members were assigned to contact you before you reached out to them for further information. We do believe it's extremely important to update you as soon as we have more information, and I’m sorry that they did not contact you. I believe they did not reach out because they were afraid to give you the bad news, but regardless you deserve to have the information in hand as soon as it is available so that you can adjust your plans accordingly.
Please know that we are doing everything we can to get you your building as soon as we can, and we understand that you need it as soon as possible. Your project manager will contact you weekly, and will provide you with a confirmed delivery date as soon as we have it.Customer response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this response is satisfactory in the short term but does no constitute a resolution. That can only be achieved with the delivery of the building they are contractually obligated to provide.

In April, 2021 I put a down payment of approximately $20,000 on a building for my property. I was told that there was a 6 month lead time on delivery of my building and this was a concern for me, due to timing of other work on my property but I was assured that GWB would be able to meet that date or close to it. Within 2 weeks I made a slight modification to raise my ***** deposit another +- $2,000 for the change. As of today, no one can tell me when my building will even start manufacturing. I was told it would be in the Spring back in August and this was unacceptable by my project manager who only responds to my requests but has yet to proactively reach out to me other than the first communication and to see if I wanted any modifications. I am now being told that it will be more likely the summer before it will be delivered. At this point I just want to get my money back from this company and go another route. I fear they will want more $ for higher steel prices before this done.Business response

On 2/11/21 I sent an $11,000 engineering deposit to GWB, after going through accessories and extras, I sent another deposit of $2634.75. After that I waited 3 weeks on them to get me sheets and signed the fab release on 4/7/21. Throughout this whole process I was told that 6 months was the lead time; by the sales rep, then by the PM. After a presumptive late August date was pushed to November with no communication, I recently found out that now they don’t know when my building will show up. I have had very poor communication from GWB and everything I found out I had to pry for information out of them. I want to know when my building will be here, as 6 months is ample time to be able to tell me at least that. Very poor communication and a spring 2022 delivery is unacceptable. I feel like I’ve been kept in the dark and I’m in the process of trying to speak with Eric Beavers to get a resolution and information after my PM said I would have answers yesterday, then said I won’t until Nov.Business response

Mr ****,
Thank-you for reaching out. We have implemented a new communication process; it will ensure your project manager provides you with regular updates and information. Our old process did not account for the industry delays we have been experiencing, and we apologize for the shortcoming. We believe you will be satisfied with this new level of communication, and we will work with you and your specific delivery needs to the best of our ability.
Sincerely,

My wife and I ordered a building Jan. 2021. Through the process we have not been told the truth and have been consistently lied to. After becoming upset the company assured me that I would at the very least receive a shipping date for the building in August. I never received a date. I called again in September and still no date just one excuse after another as to why they cannot get me a date. Josh a manager at GWB told me that they do not actually fabricate their own building and that they are fabricated by another company. He informed me that GWB building have been "pushed" back behind this other company’s customers. He has told me numerous times that I am in line. Once he even said there are about thirty people ahead of my wife and I's building. The next time he said he was sorry and that we are now in line at number 260. I requested my nearly 8k that I had put down back. Josh said no because that was for engineering which is not true. I have retained legal representation for this.Business response

Mr. ********,
Thank-you for reaching out. Unfortunately the supply chain issues continue to cause unanticipated delivery delays. We have provided you with a dedicated project manager, engineered stamped drawings, and have completely detailed your finalized building design. Our intention is to deliver it to you - your building has been consolidated and is anticipated to deliver this year. If you wish to cancel, you may do so according to the terms or our agreement which is attached.
Sincerely,

We signed a contract in March 2021 with the understanding that it would be about 6 months for delivery (August of 2021) and the final cost would include erection of the building. We asked specifically about the timeline and if building erection was included. After we signed the contract and sent the down payment, we were transferred from the sales team to a project manager. The project manager told us that no, erection was not included and it would be an additional cost. I signed the manufacturing contract in April, I didn't hear from the project manager so I had assumed everything was on track. It didn't go to the engineering department until the end of June. I asked about the timeline and didn't get a response so I had to ask again. On July 1st, I was told that they were scheduling deliveries for December 2021 now, but I shouldn't expect to have my kit delivered until Spring of 2022. No more detail than that. I received my permit plans on July 13th, still will not receive until 2022Business response

*** *******,
We are very sorry to hear that you are disappointed in the service you’ve received from Great Western Buildings. We are surprised that you thought the final cost would include erection of the building, as we do not erect buildings. How was it communicated to you that it would be included? We do not have a record indicating that you were told it was included, so if you could provide us with that information we would greatly appreciate it.
We are in the process of scheduling your delivery, and will be able to provide you with your delivery window within a few weeks

This complaint is a follow up to a previous complaint, complaint #********. Per our last complaint, the delivery of our building was estimated to be in the Spring 2022 with not specific month/date. I have periodically checked in with our project manager and I have been told it's still Spring 2022, then April, and now on April 12, 2022, he's "guessing" the delivery will be sometime in June 2022. *October 1, 2021: "We do not have a delivery date scheduled as of yet. Based on where your job is in the queue I would guess we would get it scheduled some time around April of 2022. *January 3, 2022: "I do not have anything on the schedule yet. I would say that based on the number of jobs that the estimated April time frame is likely still pretty accurate." *April 12, 2022: "I would anticipate a delivery in June sometime if I were to guess." *********** cannot tell me exactly where my project is or expected delivery. The response was, "Your job is on the schedule but it does not yet have a date finalized. They are supposed to be getting the pull through welder in the shop this week." I have been given guesstimates, supposed-to-be's, and "it's in the queue" for over a year. We signed the contract on March 30, 2021 and have yet to be given any concrete timelines or dates, in fact, the dates keep moving further out. We were told we cannot get a refund for our deposit because that was for the plans and since it has gone through that process, we would lose that money (about $10,000) if we were to stop the project.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because that date is still a guess, according to communication with the project manager, and it is unclear if Great Western has the equipment on site to begin production on the building type that I ordered. There has been no communication from Great Western throughout this process on known delays without me requesting information, challenging the continual extension of timelines, or filing a complaint. In my opinion, based on communications from my project manager and a supervisor, that there has been deception on the part of Great Western from the beginning regarding timelines, ability to fulfill my order, and reasons for delays.
Sincerely,

Initial deposit for building made in 9/18/20 for $26,729.50 Second deposit made on 10/30/20 for $11,964.40. Permission to fabricate building signed in 12/3/2020. No further communication from company regarding construction or delivery date times or delays until I made contact with them on 3/24/21. Gave an estimated delivery 7/21 only to have that changed to 9/3/21 which then changed to 10/3/21. Contract states an avg. of 12 week turn around after agreement to fabricate. Told them that date would not be acceptable due to close date of construction loan. Company admitted that they did not submit building to fabricator on the date they were supposed to. I asked for a refund and offered to pay for plans that had been drawn but company refused. We then spoke about a change of building design so we could get something for our deposit at which point they over quoted a building to me that we had to other people call in and receive lower quotes for same building. Company now is avoiding comm.Business response

********************,
Thank-you for reaching out. We looked into your building project, and your project manager notified us that you have signed off and decided to move forward with a newly modified building design, which will have a late spring delivery as we will need to re-engineer and detail the new design.
Sincerely,
