    I wanted to compliment Evan and his team. They not only came in with a very competitive bid, but finished in a timely fashion. I guess what really stood out to me was the attention to detail. We have a relatively old house (60's), I have batten board siding that had deteriorated on the south side and the west side and was weighing weather to stucco, reside or just paint. Evan thought it was salvageable and he was right. His team did a lot of preparation beyond spraying down, scraping, i.e. caulking, bondo, back rolling and it turned out great. They were especially attentive to knots on the fascia. Realistically, these guys are pros and two or three times they set me straight on a few things. I thought at first that it would be nice to trim out the mid band of our batten board walls and they talked me out of it (thank goodness) since I had double windows. Anyways, it sounds like reading the reviews that Kim M had a bad experience last year, but I had the opposite experience with a responsive, hard working crew who was exceptionally customer service oriented, finished up quickly and saved me thousands by focusing on the underlying prep that goes into a painting job. We have an active HOA with high work standards so I was really grateful for their work and attention to detail (i.e. roof elements, replacing screen doors, keeping deck pristine, etc. Anyway, just wanted to provide this more recent perspective.

    We received a bid from Evan V****, with Applied Coatings Painting, in the spring of 2021 to paint the trim of our house, he delayed starting and THEN cancelled on us saying he couldn't get to job that summer because of various reasons, not enough painters, etc... Evan said he would give us a discount if we still would use him for the following spring. We decided to give Evan another chance and agreed to wait another year. Spring came and when we contacted Evan, he would NOT honor the discount he promised and since it was too late for use to hire another painter (they were all booked) we again said ok to original quote, shame on us! He started at the end of May 2022 on our house and after a day working he sent us an email, he was PULLING OFF the job! He said there was "some non paintable silicone caulking" that was applied where our exterior walls met the soffits (he was suppose to paint the soffits) and his tape would not stick to it. We called our general contractor on our home to enquire about this, our contractor said that was the lamest excuse he's ever heard from a painter, he said it's such a minor issue, i.e. clean off silicone caulking with a rag so tape will stick and don't paint the caulking! 2nd year our home was delayed because of this lame company and because every other painter was booked for the season, we ended up having our 20 yr old daughter paint the house and she had NO issues, taping or painting it! We would love to give him "0" stars, but we're willing to leave the 1 star because he didn't charge us for spraying down our house! We have no idea if he's even a good painter but to leave a client high and dry for 2 years is extremely unprofessional & unreliable. All-in-all the worst contractor we dealt with on our custom built home.
