Deceptive business practice. Subscription was cancelled, but card was charged the day after cancellation. Subscription was re-started again without approval, and they insist on not giving any refunds. Have a filed a dispute with the Bank for charges. If you have a subscription with Boulder Daily Camera, please check on your bank charges from them and cancel your subscription.

The Daily Camera engages in deceptive practices. If you subscribe to the paper edition, you are required to OPT OUT of receiving "Special Editions" of the paper. If you do not opt out, then a charge of $8.25 is deducted from your subscription nine times a year. This can reduce your subscription by 47% resulting in a half year subscription instead of a full year subscription. As of 2023, the Daily Camera was advertising a $158 full year 7 day a week subscription when in actuality it turns into a 28 week subscription. To receive a full year at this rate, you would have to pay $293. This is in fact what the Daily Camera hopes will happen when your subscription is suddenly terminated and you are asked to renew. Opt out clauses are insidious and are under attack in ********** and ******** regarding data privacy. Furthermore, the *** has stated that negative option sellers (of which the opt out clause is one form) seeking anything other than explicit consent is unlawful (*****************************************************).

Did a digital trial which transferred automatically to a full price subscription. I do not use the service so when I saw the charge I called and asked to cancel and be refunded since I do not use the service and I was told by the representative he was not authorized to issue a refund. I asked to speak to someone else and his response was who do I want to speak to and why. He then told me he was the supervisor and refunds are not allowed per policy. Poor customer service and clearly just wanting to get as much money as possible from customers. 10/10 don't recommend.
