On 7/21/23 I brought my vehicle into Big O Tires in ******* to have an oil changed done. I was recommended at the time to have a coolant flush done as well. I told them to do it, thinking that they knew how to properly do it. Shortly, after having the coolant flush done, my car overheated. I brought my car back in on 8/1, and they said that there was air bubbles in the system, and that they would redo the coolant flush and it should be good. It overheated again badly on a hot day just after they did the work. I had it towed to the shop, and they just told me that it looks like something electrical and not like an overheating issue. I then took it to ******* Hybrid to have them look at it since they know hybrid motors. Boulder hybrid told me that it looked like it still had air bubbles in the system. They did another coolant flush, and replace the water pump at the same time since the car had overheated. They said to come back in if I was losing coolant and they would do a compression test to check the head gasket. I did lose coolant, which wasn't an issue before my coolant flush at Big O tires. So I had them run the compression test. When they ran the compression test they found the head gasket had been blown. They recommended that I had Big O tires resolve it through their insurance. I have been trying for almost a year now and keep getting brushed off. For the first three or four months, ******, the manager was telling me that they would resolve it internally through Big O tires. He said they would likely fix it in the local shop. Then as time went on, he said that he sent it over to corporate. He said I should hear that shortly. Never did. I continued to follow up every few weeks now for about six months, and still haven't heard anything from corporate or the Store. I seem to be brushed off. I'm still making payments on a car that I can't drive because I have a blown head gasket. This is gone unresolved for almost a year now, which is why I am seeking help.

At this time we are referring this case over to our insurance company to determine liability. We performed a coolant flush and the customer did have to return due to an overheat condition caused by an air pocket. We corrected the issue. The vehicle went approximately ***** miles before visiting the repair shop that replaced the water pump and serviced the cooling system. ***** miles later the vehicle returned to the same repair shop with a coolant leak issue. At tht time they determined the head gasket had failed. Since we can't clearly accept liability, we are asking our insurance company to step in and decide for us.

Over the past 1-2 years I have been having issues with the suspension in my vehicle. I initially had the shocks replaced on their recommendation. Since then I have had the shocks replaced 3 times because the ones they used continued to fail. Today, 3/13, I went in again to have the issue addressed. Again they notified me that the shocks were leaking. The said that they could acquire the replacements at no cost to me but that I would be responsible for the labor costs. They informed me the shocks had a lifetime warranty but still they are going to charge me for labor. If the parts have a warranty I should not be responsible for replacing them.

We have arranged to order the dealer parts and get them in the building (Which we did in advanced yesterday) the parts are at least 48 hours out. I informed him that we would notify him when the parts are delivered, so he can plan a convenient appointment. I have worked with our vendor to cover the warranty on the parts previously installed on the customer's vehicle. They have also agreed to cover labor on behalf of the customer. We'll be able to take care of the issue with the customer having no out of pocket expense.

The customer is highly satisfied with the resolution and has let me know he intends to make an appointment with the store to complete the repairs next week.

On 8/24/2023 I took my ****** Crosstrek in to get my brakes and rotors replaced. The total for the job was $1,279.13. A month later I came back and got both my front and rear control arms replaced. The total for this job as $1,283.53. A week later my brakes started grinding specifically as they heated up during use. I took my car back and Big O said that they couldn't find the problem. Two weeks later I took my car back and because my brakes were grinding I insisted that a employee ride in my car with me. After he heard the noise he said that I should leave the car with them again. Later that day I got a call from Big O claiming that my calipers needed to be replaced and that they were the problem. They quoted me another $1,200 for the job. I declined the job because it didn't sound right to me and asked why my calipers were not checked during the brake and rotor work. They couldn't give me a straight answer but said they could replace the brakes free of charge. I asked if that would fix the problem and they said no so I declined the brake replacement. On 11/27/2023 I took my car into a ****** dealership to get the brake system checked out. They said that everything was fine but that the reason my brakes were grinding was because Big O uses cheap parts. The ****** mechanic informed me that he gets a lot of business from Big O specifically for brakes because they use cheap parts that have a high fail rate. The cost to switch out my brakes was $650 at ******. I had them switch them out. Since the replacement my brakes do not grind and work perfectly. The ****** mechanic also informed me that my calipers were fine and they won't need replacing for quiet some time.

Big O tires Store ******, ************************************************************ On June 8, 2023 at approximately 8:00AM I entered the store to report a tire that had a soft bulge in the sidewall. Both a technician and the store manager inspected the tire and agreed that it was covered under the Tire Protection Plan purchased with these tires on 10/14/2022. The tread on the other three tires was measured to be 7/32 on the outside and 6/32 in the center of the tread. The Manager chastised me for having the vehicle tires overinflated. I showed him the **** app on my phone that showed the tires were properly inflated. A subsequent tread measurement that I performed showed that all four tires had 7/32 tread in the outside and center. The manager offered to replace the tire with the bulge under warranty but since this is an all-wheel drive vehicle I would need to but the other three tires for $592.00, or take a chance on damaging the drive train according to the vehicle manufacturer. $592.00 for 3 tires calculates to $197.33 per tire, on 10/14/2022 these 4 tires were purchased for $707.04, which calculates to $176.06 per tire. Thats $20.57 more per tire that the original purchase price. I declined and called the Big O complaint department *************, talked to ***** and started claim #******, at 8:58 AM. After a little more discussion with the manager I called again talked to ****** and at 10:42 AM finished filing the claim. I was assured that a representative of Big O would contact me within a couple of days. This was written the afternoon of the sixth day after the complaint was filed.Store management had no qualms about me driving away with a right front tire that had a soft bubble on the sidewall. The original invoice # ******-*****, order #*****, dated 10/14/2022, Mileage ****** Mileage when tire damage reported ******. So tires had traveled ****** miles.

We offered to warranty all 4 tires out and take care of the cost via customer satisfaction. The customer had went to a few other competitors and identified that this policy is the same a crossed all tire retailers. The customer has opted to not get the 4 ********************** and instead purchased one from a tire retailer that would install a single tire on a AWD vehicle.

May 4, 2022, I took my car to Big O Tires. I noticed a high pitched squealing noise and metal grinding noise that had only been getting worse. They told me that I needed to completely re do my rear brakes and calipers. I just had my rear brakes replaced by them in September of 2021 with just about ***** miles on them. August 2021 They recommend that I get my rear brakes changed. They say that they are at 3-4 mm. September 2021 One month and 200 miles later, I take my car in and have my rear brakes changed. I mention a high pitch squealing noise when I accelerate that they assume is my belt. I told them that I recently had my belt changed. Over the next few months, my car battery keeps dying and I take it in to Big ** They say that the battery is good and if it happens again to bring it in. It happens again. They replace my battery. It dies again. I take my car to a different mechanic and they diagnose a parasitic drain that was killing my battery. Every time that I took my car in for the battery, I mentioned the squealing noise and my front and rear brakes were new. They say brakes don't do that when accelerating. They do nothing. Flash forward to now and they will not warranty my rear brakes that have only **** miles on them. They told me to pay the $500 again to replace them. The mechanic says we could have caught the caliper problem when the brake pads were at a 3-4 mm. I called the manager and he was clear that they could not warranty the brakes, but he would cover the $90 for the brake pads, and he made it clear that that was him doing a favor. He also apologized for anything that his mechanics previously missed. He then told me the squealing I was hearing was because of my failing engine mount. That did not make sense. The squealing sounded like brakes and I told them every time that I just had them done. I feel like they could have caught the caliper problem and saved me from having to get new brakes again. Especially with how ***** they say the caliper is.
