Auto Tech Plaza on Platte replaced my timing belt and water pump in Sept 2022. In Sept 2023 I took it to another mechanic who told me the timing belt cover had never been put back in place. I took it back to Auto Tech Plaza to point this out and they told me the cover was there and everything is fine. Now another mechanic said the cover is still missing which causes a coolant leak to degrade the timing belt. This gross negligence and lying is costing me $1200. Auto Tech Plaza says it's outside the warranty, but it's gross negligence. I want the price of repairs covered by them.Business Response

My car stopped working meaning it jumped out of gear into no gear. take it to Auto tech plaza on Platte in ****************. I had it towed there. I told him my problem that the car jumped out of gear into no gear I thought it was a transmission they said they would run a diagnostic, replace the air flow shutter assembly they also replaced the valve cover gasket and the valve cover cracked. They charged me $2,800. They told me they drove the car 60 miles to test drive it. I looked at the mileage I found that to be incorrect. I picked up the car they said it was fixed. I drove it to la junta Colorado to go to dialysis, my wife she told me the car started acting up again that it would not shift into gear. We called Auto tech plaza they said they had people that could come and check it in la junta and we had a guy named **** from Napa who came and looked at it and he thought it was the transmission not shifting into gear. He thought there was no way what they replaced was going to fix the problem. We called Auto tech plaza and told them they said if we towed it to them they would look at it again at our expense, if we would have to pay for another diagnostic. I'm 100% disabled veteran with now no means to go to dialysis. I spent all the ******** car has the same problem. They said they drove it 60 miles after they fixed it and after looking at the mileage which I sent to you there's no way they go with 60 miles maybe 15 if they did. I already paid for a tow to get it to Auto tech plaza the first time. They have all the money I have for this ******** wife was talking to them she told them she took pictures of the mileage they hung up on her and would not accept her phone calls. This is my lifeline, my car is my lifeline I go to dialysis twice a week now I have no means to get there. It looks like they took the easy way out and fix the simplest problem first and thought that was the fix without really testing it.Business Response

While we are terribly sorry that your vehicle is having issues down south in ********. Yet when this vehicle came to us it was not having lack of shifting issues. The issue your vehicle was having when arrived to our facility is the transmission after even just a short drive would shift differently than it would on initial start-up drives. On our diagnostic we found no issues with the transmission itself but that the Active Grill Shutter assembly was malfunctioned and not opening. Your vehicle also had NO fluid issues or transmission codes but did have a code P059-F which is "active grille air shutter 'A' control circuit/open Grill Shutter Performance" On even very short Drives the shutter would not open and allow air flow to cool the transmission fluid temperature. On remedying the grill shutter issue our facility took the vehicle on not 1, but 2 test drives and confirmed no symptoms had returned. If initial issue/complaint would had even slightly returned the vehicle would not have driven out of ****************, nor completed trips 150+ miles one way to ********* When you guys contacted us we not only(we do not have a ************** to go that far) provided 2 shops local in ******** that your warranty from us is good at. But we also provided your *********** Peace of Mind Warranty contact info as well. We had not once refused to take your guys' calls and one of our Advisors even text you directly the contact info to the shop within a few miles of where the vehicle was having issues. We are terribly sorry you guys are having a new issue but you have been provided any and all information in regards to your active warranty and assisted in finding a way to get the vehicle issue checked out. Without the vehicle at our location we are not able to perform a diagnostic or confirm what the current issue is. We once again recommend using your warranty as it is intended. I am rejecting this response because:
If you look at the paperwork the mechanic said transmission was not shifting correctly, when I took it in I told him it was shifting out of gear. While driving,it was shift like it went into neutral disengaged the transmission. I even read on ****** that the air flow shutter assembly has nothing to do with the transmission. It cools the engine down. If the air flow shutter was bad it would cause rough shifting it would not disengage the transmission.
You gave us two shops in La junta one was **** from ************************. **** said the air flow shutter would just cause hard shifting, even mark was in the car and my wife drove the car and it disengaged. He doesn't understand why they replace what they did, he said it was a transmission that was disengaging and going into like neutral. **** had to push the car into a parking space because it would not engage. According to mark and the pictures I sent you on the mileage they did not drive the car, I do not believe they drove the car if they did they drove it at the beginning for a couple of miles but I don't believe they drove it after. The transmission would not disengage because of the temperature.

Auto Tech Plaza In **************** (E Platte location) "*emove & replaced *ower Both control arm" on my ***** CX5 at the total cost of $1180.67 June 2023. I thought all was done correctly & repaired. Months later while I was in ** I went to a car repair place to have them check out a clunking noise around the * front wheel ? I informed them that i had recently had the "control arms" replaced. They took it up on the lift to inspect, To my dismay the mechanic stated that the * control arm was not the correct replacement part & the * was not new at all," appeared to be the original part". Very different than the right side ! A video was done to show this before I had any thing done. I was in shock. !! I had traveled hundreds of miles over the next few months not knowing that the repairs at ********* Plaza were not done properly & now even replaced on the *eft !! I was in another state and had a lot on my "plate" taking care of a family member I was so furious about the issue I could not even call Auto Tech plaza (***** to discuss this terrible issue) > I had ******* MotorWorks repair this issue CO**ECT*Y at the cost of $774.86 (discounted thank goodness). I had to remain in ** till May. *eturning to CO I emailed & called the CO shop . i was SO anxious & fretful to even talk to them. I did not want to talk to the service advisor BUT THE OWNE*> NO email from the owner BUT ***** the advisor. Went to the shop a week later, again nothin but statement that the parts have a warranty ! ? THE *eft WAS NOT EVEN *EP*ACED & THE *t was done incorrectly. I stated I HAVE a video of the entire issue & repair that had to be redone & paid for. He did not want to see. AGAIN I said I wanted to speak to the OWNE*. WEEKS later I have not rec'd a call from the owner. I emailed Auto Tech plaza that I will be contacting the BBB, ************** attorney with this fraudulent repair. They are on the *** list ! Following our repairs, an alignment check showed that your vehicle's caster, camber, and toe were within the manufacturer's specifications. Please review attached alignment report showing before and after readings. This alignment would not be possible if there were any faults with the control arms.
Additionally, we noticed that the repair was not completed under the **** Nationwide Warranty, which offers numerous locations across the country for your convenience.

I am rejecting this response because: The true issue is not being addressed. They state (AUTO TECH PLAZA) that the alignment following the ***** control arms being fixed shows that it (the control arms) were fixed..... SO why is it that when it was up on the lift at ******* MWs the * "bushing" was showing otherwise. Cracked & original part ? The Rt also was improperly repaired. THE ***** shows this BUT THE ***** IS too *ARGE for your site to ACCEPT. NOW WHAT ??? I HAVE SENT the video TO Auto Tech Plaza twice. I DO NOT KNOW IF IT IS getting there either. I AM SOOOO FRUSTRATED. ITS ON MY PHONE & MY COMPUTER>

While those 2 control arms do show a difference in bushing style they
both are in fact correct and noticeably new in that picture. So not sure
as to why they condemned them or replaced them. Those are both new
control arms and you can tell that by the bushings themselves still
being new and the sleeve in which the bolts go through being still in
like brand new condition.. So we are still not sure for the reason in
which they said these control arms were not replaced by us and needed
replaced by them. It's very much looking like they replaced control arms
that were not needing replaced. The picture you have just provided of
the control arms they took OFF is a picture of new/newer control arms.
Which confirms that our technician did in fact install/replace the
control arms you are claiming we didn't do. The integrity(while it does show 2 style of bushings, which is common among manufactures to use variance in small parts etc as long as they meet OE quality) both bushings shown is the customer provided pic of the "not new" control arms shows new bushings, new bolt sleeves, and newer control arm assemblies. The integrity of the control arms pictured is in fact new control arms which confirms that we as a shop did install the said parts we charged for installing. Unfortunately if customer believed an issue existed there were avenues to contact Auto Tech Plaza for warranty OR her NAPA SONSIO warranty program. She chose to do neither and elected to purchase a repair that was in fact not needed from a shop elsewhere. Condemning parts due to slight variances in "look" is not a suitable reason for replacement nor does it confirm the parts were incorrect or installed incorrectly. The parts were in fact replaced by our team at Auto Tech Plaza and the post-repair alignment confirms there was no suspension issues or fitment issues following this repair.Customer Answer

Auto Tech Plaza, offers customer satisfaction along with promised to fill up my car with synthetic oil, rotate my tires, top off all fluids, air in tire would be looked at.Auto Tech Plaza, failed to do all the above, upon arriving bad customer service; 10am on 03/14/2023, at Auto Tech Plaza , **** E Platte Ave, **************** **, *****, Employee ***** informed me while my appointment was changed to 3 pm, without notice although confirmed my phone number was up to date. ***** proceeded laughing scornfully, smirking apologetic as he repeated I dont want to ruin your day, as he continued sarcastically laughing, rescheduling for 3 pm, I requested special assistance with my tires due air gauge was on. Upon returning my car as completed, I started my car, the tire gauge was still on, I returned into Auto Tech Plaza informing ***** my tire gauge was still on, I was told the tire pressure would increase during driving. Which didnt happen, as I was arriving to my home in fountain, my car engine light came on, mechanic said there was no oil. Informing ***** of the troubles of my car, he replied in a demeaning tone, I cant do nothing until you have my car towed Auto Tech Plaza. I left several messages for the owner, ***** confirmed *************** had received all five messages. ***** stated why are you being so making problems for air in your tires. I reminded him no oil was in my car, he replied go away little lady and hung up.Business Response

The issue at hand concerning the tire pressure light being on, air pressures were checked to factory specification but further diagnostic to determine why the light was on whether it is a faulty tire sensor or something wrong with the tire pressure monitoring system, was declined. I, **** the store manager, am unaware of the concern with no oil in the vehicle, that would have been addressed right away. If there are any receipts with proper dates that can be provided for the purchase of oil to fill the engine up since its being stated that the vehicle had no oil in it, We will definitely reimburse as such, or any mechanic charges / receipts for the customer getting her vehicle looked at. I do apologize for the customer service experienced but I am certain the issue was not just overlooked. I had spoken with the customer and offered to her to bring her vehicle back in for ** to look at it, this being the tire light on not the no oil concern, that i was not aware of, but she did not want to.
