    In Aug 2020 DrSpa installed a Balboa brand motherboard and control panel on my spa for $820.11. In Feb 2021 the jet pumps started 'surging,' turning on and off rapidly which is bad. DrSpa came out and told me that a part in the control panel was out and that it would be an inexpensive fix but warned me that parts availability was a problem and there might be a wait. He turned the jet pump and control board off but made it so the tub would stay hot and have a circulating pump work. This gave me a soaker tub that wouldn't freeze but was very difficult to keep clean. Between then and the end of July I texted four times. Each time DrSpa responded immediately but never followed up after that. His texts (enclosed) grew less and less believable and I finally gave up thinking that I would have someone else do this 'inexpensive' fix when I could more easily afford it. January of this year we decided to contract with Vacasa to manage our place as a vacation rental, and needed a fully functional spa.MasterSpa came out and was able to make the spa function properly for a short period, but it would start surging within a day or two. Further diagnostics convinced both of us that both the motherboard and control panel were shot, and I paid $778.95 to have it replaced with another Balboa unit. I was able to talk to DrSpa about this issue. While admitting that he was wrong to let this matter lapse, he maintains that there was nothing wrong in his installation and he won't consider a refund unless he can take the old unit back and test it. I don't trust him to do this as I feel that he has already been dishonest as well as the fact that he created this situation himself. My belief is that DrSpa realized that he had installed this thing wrong and tried to put me off until it was too late. This situation is exacerbated by the fact that my wife and I are elderly +-70 and were forced to close our business because of the pandemic. Dr. Spa was aware of both of these facts.
