December 24, 2024 my husband and I were parked in a Supercenter parking lot that had no signs posted. All of a sudden someone started banging violently on our door and windows. We asked them to identify themselves and they never responded. Not once did this person speak to us or identify themselves. They placed Bugs Towing stickers over our security cameras, and then circled us multiple times while laying on the horn.Initial Complaint

My car was illegally towed. I was parked in the parking lot of my friends apartment complex. There wasnt any visitor parking so I parked in the next available open parking, which I thought would be fine considering I was only inside for no more than ten minutes to use the restroom. I come out and my car is completely gone. The only thing that was left in the parking space was a part of my car. I go to the towing company and explain to them that there wasnt any visitor parking open and I explained to them they towed me even though I was only there for 10 minutes and they said there nothing they can do and I need to pay the towing fine, which is over $381. I paid the fine and they take me back to my car. And I see that there is more damage to my car. The bottom part of my car on the driver side, just below the little foot step, was detached and I told them they had removed the bottom protection piece of my car. They told me I couldnt prove that it was or was not them that damaged the car. They said that they did take before picture but said I wasnt able to see them at the time but that I could call or email them for the pictures. I have called and emailed multiple times, weeks have gone by and they have stopped responding to me. And I just want reimbursement for the ticket and the damages to my car. Or at least the ticket.Initial Complaint

On March 28th, an incident occurred involving the attempted towing of my vehicle from VASA Fitness on ***************************. As the tow truck driver initiated the process of booting my car, I promptly intervened and requested that they cease and desist. I then engaged in a dialogue with the tow truck operator, who subsequently contacted their dispatch department. However, the dispatch operator adamantly refused to authorize the release of my vehicle. My understanding is that tow companies are legally obligated to offer a drop fee in such situations. I am aware that the customary drop fee in the area is approximately $90, a fee that I would have been willing to pay to avoid any further inconvenience. Despite my repeated requests the owner refused to offer a drop. While engaged in this conversation, I had my speakerphone on, enabling my friend to overhear the entirety of the transaction. At this point, I had no way to get to Bugs, towing, LLC so I rode in the cab of the tow truck with the driver while they towed my vehicle behind me.Once arriving at the establishment's location at 9 pm, **** demanded $475 charge to release my vehicle. The establishment justified this inflated price by claiming it was an 'after-hours' charge. Being that I was unable to afford the exorbitant cost, was then instructed to return in the morning. This created additional financial burden and inconvenience, forcing me to incur additional expenses for transportation home and back to the establishment the following day. I am requesting a refund of the difference between $322.77 and the legal drop fee of $92, which amounts to $230.77. I understand that I am liable for the drop fee, however, I believe that the remaining balance should be refunded to me. I have enclosed a copy of my receipt for your review. Any assistance or direction is much appreciated. Thank you for your time.Initial Complaint

On 5/27 my car was towed from my apartment complex. The tow company, Bug's Towing, damaged my vehicle. The extent of the damage is not fully known, but at the very least the Drive Shaft and Carrier Bearing were damaged enough I could not drive the vehicle from the impound lot. I have tried contacting them to file an insurance claim and they have delayed in accepting responsibility. The facts:- The vehicles rear bumper was dislodged. I have pictures, they have pictures of before too. Their pictures show the bumper intact prior to them towing it.- The car had to be towed from the impound lot, it was drivable prior to their towing of it.- They did not use the proper towing technique for a ****** Outback and stated they "strictly grab on from the wheels and nothing else". ****** states in their owners manual, "Never tow AWD vehicles with the front wheels off the ground while the rear wheels are on the ground, or with the rear wheels raised off the ground while the front wheels are on the ground". Their response was dismissive stating, "Weve been towing for years we know how to do our job "Initial Complaint

This is a predatory towing company. I was towed from a parking lot that I had parked in for years after leaving my car there for 20 minutes. The lot was not clearly marked. The tow trucks were sitting and waiting. When I went to pick up my car they said they would only take cash. $400 even though my car was only in their possession for 45 minutes. There are many other things they did wrong which I can explain if necessary. There are many complaints against this company for extremely unfair business practices.Initial Complaint

While on Peak Auto auction I had bid on a car. I was top bidder and won the car. The car was being auctioned by Bugs Towing and that's the company I had to pay and pick the vehicle up from. I did so and received all necessary paper work to get the car registered in my name. Before I could do so I miss placed the paperwork. I reached back out to Bugs Towing and was told i could get new copies for $100. In the past with Peak its been $30 but I agreed and we set up a time for me to come pick up the new documents. When I got there he wasn't at location and I had to wait an hour. Once he arrived the documents wasn't ready and he didn't have all the packet. His statement was he miss understood me thought i just needed new Bill of Sale not the entire packet. He then said that would be $200 and he needs a day. So we agreed he would mail them since I was coming from ******. It's been almost a month since this agreement and he hasn't sent anything and stop responding to my text and emails. I've sold the truck and waiting on the documents so the new owner can get tags. I've sent him $150 of the $200 waiting for the confirmation that it was mailed. I've reached out to Peak since it was their platform we used to intervene and they wasn't much help. When I lost documents in the past it was only $30 for a replacement package and i asked who set the prices and Peak said it no regulation set the *********** can charge what they want. I'm not sure if that's true. I would either like all the documents needed to register (Bill of Sale , VIN verification, Article that was in Gazette..) or a full refund of the vehicle plus the money i put into it in order to flip it. I have all my receipts. I can forward the email thread and text tread once its assigned to a BBB rep. for it shows the contact history with the company. and proof of payment.Initial Complaint

I have a police complaint filed because I was in emergency surgery and my vehicle was stolen and parked at a 711 where it was taken by Bugs Towing and they kept me admitted into the hospital for over a week. I have tried reaching out to the explaining the situation and to no avail. I have been hung up on and disrespected miserably. They tried to bribe me about getting my vehicle and belongings out of the it. Saying that if I give them my keys and title they will release my belongings out of my vehicle. I was sent home on a wound vacuum where I am home bound. I can not keep going up to the place dealing with their attitudes when the owner threatened that he was going to be even rude than he was being already. I have a police case number stating my b I had been stolen and they refuse to still release my vehicle. Stating that if the police wont call them personally they wont release my vehicle even though it states that it was stolen. The police said that Bugs towing knows thats what they give them the case number for is for them to look it up and then they will see it was reported and they should release it at that point and time. But Im having no help or luck. The woman threatened to take my vehicle after 30 days which she claims will be TOMORROW so please hurry and respond as soon as possible! Thank you!!! Call me Im a single mother and has a registered nurse come to my house to help me every other day and cant do this alone. No family it friends to do it for me I need help thats all I have for my transportation!Initial Complaint
