I am writing to express my frustration over not receiving the promised $1,090.00 refund after deciding against moving into The Lucas Apartments due to the unit's unacceptable condition. Despite assurances that the refund process would take 30–45 days, my numerous attempts to resolve this matter—including contacting Danyelle S. on November 15, 2024, December 26, 2024, and January 2, 2025; visiting the office on January 3, 2025; and speaking with Scott S. on January 14, 2025—have been met with delays and miscommunication. I request immediate action to issue my refund. Please ensure that I receive my refund before the end of this month.

On September 19 I found mold in my apartment and reported it to the front office. They sent maintenance to my apartment and sprayed all the mold white and it still continues to grow. They also replaced the floor boards which also had mold behind in the wall which led into my mechanic room which was not fixed. I have experienced ******************* and have been sick on and off. The front office has said they would only move me into a new apartment if I were to resign my lease which I did not plan to do & so they agreed to let me end my lease early without penalty but have continued to charge me for moving out. They have been made aware by multiple residents regarding the mold per reviews and the issue has not been fixed.

Back in 2022 I attempted to rent an apartment in Texas which is called the Morgan. I went into the leasing office and applied for a 2/2 apartment. There was a promotion that stated if the applicant comes in to apply in person for the apartment that service fees or admin fees would be waived. We were denied of the application however, my co applicants may have been denied because my credit was fine. There was $200 that was sent to collections and that I would have to pay to collections. I was not received any form of letter about the reason of the debt being reported and the fact that I do not have the lease or a denial letter based on the reasoning. Due to my knowledge I never received any letter regarding a letter of notice. I have been trying to escalate this matter of a $200 payment it has been sent to two collection agencies and it has affected my credit. The only paper work I have on hand is the letter from the collection agency and the letter to request why I was denied of the application. I am upset and disappointed my credit has went from 700 to around 680 due to this matter of a $200 payment. I have attempted to call the company of Morgan but it has been difficult because management has changed so everything has been erased.

On May 13th, I moved out of Council Crossing Apartments (a complex managed by Pauls Corp) in *******, ********. On May 29th, I received an email notice from Pauls Corp saying that my husband and I owe $865.65 from our recent move out. I called because I thought there mustve been a mistake. The representative told me that because of the extensive damage, the amount due is whats still owed after my $300 cleaning deposit was applied. After calling and emailing several times, I was finally given a final account statement (find attached). I have issues with several of the charges not matching the listed prices for damages in the lease agreement. I also have issue with the $525 charge for wall repair, the $225 charge for tub resurfacing, and the $50 charge for trash removal.I tried to resolve this matter with Pauls Corp through both email and phone to no avail (no email responses have been given, and the representatives have only tried to make me settle by taking off around $100 of the total owed). I put my disputes into writing and sent them the photos from our move out day, but I have not received any email responses at this time. When calling and asking for pictures of the supposed damage, they simply sent the photos that I had originally emailed them. Upon stating this, the representative told me that I had agreed to the apartments terms and conditions and could not do anything about it.My account number with ********************** Corp is ********. While I doubt I will be able to get out from under Pauls Corp without paying something, I believe that my amount owed should be greatly reduced. I am attaching the photos taken on my move out day and all other documents present on my Pauls Corp account. In the photos, one can see that there is no trash present (the wooden coffee table was removed after taking the photos) and that there is no major damage to the walls.

In July 2022, I moved into an apartment managed by Pauls Corp. The apartment was in **********, ** and is Ascent at ********** on ***************************************************************. This apartment unit and complex was uninhabitable and the most disgusting living space that I had ever seen. I have never seen as many cockroaches and mold growths. After a week of cold-like symptoms and skin rashes, I assumed that my unit had mold and tendered a maintenance request to address the mold that I discovered after inspecting the ventilation ducts of my unit and observing mold growth. The property manager of Ascent blatantly lied to me and told me there was no mold present in the apartment and that the apartment was habitable. This blatant disregard for the truth showed a complete disregard for my health and safety. I had requested that ****** hire a mold inspector to test my unit to confirm the fact that mold was not present in the apartment and that the apartment was safe to live in but they refused and told me it was my responsibility. I then hired a mold inspector, at my expense, to test my unit. As I was already aware, my unit was filled with toxic mold, with a Stachybotrys and Chaetomium spore count 12x higher than the ambient outside air. The mold inspector provided me with a letter confirming that this unit was uninhabitable. At this juncture, I chose to exercise my legal right to break the lease penalty free.Days later, they sent me a final bill for rent I owed them. Ascent is claiming that I owed additional rent for a unit that was not habitable, unsafe and should never have been offered for lease. They were not eligible to receive money from me if the apartment remained in an uninhabitable state. Ascent jeopardized my health and safety by not providing me with a safe place to live.I have never seen such blatant unethical behavior and utter disregard for human life from a company.
