Amazing Moves service generally is atrocious. They are literally incompetent. However, Amazing Moves broke/destroyed a number of our items while they were in storage with them. They fixed some of the items, but did a poor job. We were also to receive two checks for our claims. The first check was for approximately $1400. The second check was for approximatively $400 more. The claim was made more than 3 months ago and we have not received the check. *****, Amazing's Moves claims person claimed she mailed the check 3 weeks ago, but we have not received the check and I am convinced that she is not telling the truth and the check has not been mailed..Business Response

Amazing Moves moved us from ********* to a townhouse in ******. I paid over $200 for "full value protection" of my furniture. Immediately upon arrival to my townhouse, I found my round coffee table, purchased less than 3 years ago from ******* Designs newly cracked in 2 places. The coffee table was not cracked the morning before the move but was cracked after being in Amazing Moves care. I filed a claim with Amazing Moves on June 29 complete with pictures and a copy of the invoice for the original purchase of the table. I followed up with *************************** on July 17 with an email, inquiring about the status of my claim. She never got back to me. I called Amazing Moves 4 times between July 17 and August 21 to follow-up on my claim and they never got back to me. I finally called for a 5th time on Wednesday, August 21 and to my shock *************************** answered the phone. She said that she would email me by close of business. On the evening of Wednesday, August 21, I received an email that the "Amazing Moves' vendors had determined that "advised that the damage to the piece is dry cracking due to the age of the piece and environmental conditions here in ** and that Amazing Moves could not have prevented nor caused the dry cracking to occur. We must respectfully deny this claim at this time based on our vendors assessment." No one ever came to look at the table to see if it could be repaired. This table is 3 years old and purchased from a high quality vendor. When I replied to Ms. **** that I had paid for full value coverage and would be seeking restitution through litigation, she replied that "we did not cause nor contribute to the damage we can offer $200 as a customer service gesture for your table". $200 is less than what I paid for "full value coverage" and less than half of what I paid for the table 3 years earlier. I am seeking what I paid for - the "full value" of my cracked coffee table - either to be repaired or replaced at the $524.78 I paid for the table.Business Response

The moving date of items from Amazing Moves (AM) Denver storage after 21 months to a new mountain home was November, 2023. Multiple issues with AM - they changed the moving day the day before to a day later while days off work were arranged for the agreed upon date a month earlier; charged for extra storage days; additional billing issue and rug moths brought into the home via rugs that were in their climate-controlled, safe storage which I paid $1,200 a month for around $25,000. The moths appeared the night we moved in. My family moved rugs to an outdoor covered patio, unwrapped, vacuumed, wrapped in tarps as we googled what to do and freezing/high temperatures should kill the moths/larvae. One rug had moths streaming out of it; took pictures of rug and disposed of it. The move was in multiple trucks so called AM immediately to not bring the loaded trucks to the house Monday in case there were moths. I got different outdoor storage units to kill any moths. Another charge for moving from AM. In January 2024 we moved the new storage items to the mountain home. I contacted the claim representative on Monday, November 20th sharing the difficulty in finding a company that could deal with rug moths, it was a holiday month, and location in the mountains until the end of December so the 30 day claim wouldnt work. I was told no problem as the claim was initiated within the 30 days. **** transported back to ****** and after 2 months of numerous call backs to AM and cleaner for service, I requested my own cleaner. AM said yes and have them **** AM. I did and they didnt pay the bill. Numerous calls from the cleaner and myself they paid the $2,700 bill in July. My claim for the damaged rug of $1260 they have yet to pay. I didnt ask for reimbursement for Orkin fee or additional move costs to an outdoor unit due to rug moths; or the storage charges for 2 months of additional storage. I just want reimbursed for my damaged rug of $1,260 - which they say is coming. Not a A+Customer Answer

I am not sure how to respond. Padraic is a new name to me - I have talked/emailed with a Dawn, *******, *********************** (I attached her email from 6-4-24 stating we have zero record of anyone contacting us before today which is correct, *************************, and left a voice mail with the owner.
The option Accept Business Response would close the case. Reject Business Response is not appropriate either as Padraic could be the missing link that could get the refund for the damaged rug and I appreciate that he is checking into it - although this is what I have been told since the beginning.

We hired Amazing Moves to handle our move in October of 2023. Several items were damaged during our move and after several months the items that could be repaired, were repaired. In April 2024, the agreed upon claim for items that were beyond repair of $737 was promised to be paid by check in under 8 weeks. I've followed up several times by both email and voice mail. The last note I received three weeks ago indicated that I was still on the "check request log" but no promise was made for when payment would be sent, and nothing has been received. We are now out 12 weeks and my further follow-up email and voice mail have not received a response. Requests for escalation paths have been disregarded. We used Amazing Moves in November 2023 for our move. There was damage to our property and personal property, resulting in them owing us $605.76. After a lot of poor instructions/communication, I finally received confirmation that theyd pay that amount on 12/18/23. I was told it would be paid in 6-8 weeks. I have followed up 12 times over email and phone since the 8 week window and received 3 responses, typically just saying theyre looking into it. On December 6, 2023, a representative of the company (*************************) came to our home to provide an estimate for packing moving trucks that my family planned to rent. **************** stated that we would only need a 26-foot truck and a 16-foot truck. She later confirmed that in emails. In reliance on her statements, we reserved two trucks for January 2, 2023 (my wife and I picked them up that morning), and we also booked the company for that day. That day, their moving crew moved some of our belongings into the two trucks. The crew finished their work at approximately 5:30pm on January 2, after nightfall, and they told us at that time that they were unable to fit all our belongings into the two trucks and that we would need to rent a third truck (a 10-foot truck). The next morning, we rented a third truck and, because we had to leave ASAP that day in order to meet our movers in ************** (whom we hired to unload the trucks on January 6), we packed that third truck ourselves on 1/3. While doing so, we opened the other two trucks and discovered that the moving crew had done a terrible job of loading the two trucks on January 2. Specifically, as our photos show, there were significant empty spaces in both trucks. After reviewing our photos, *********************** (Sales Supervisor) noted in an email that "I share your frustration...and I want to offer my sincere apologies as what they did was completely unacceptable. We will work through this with you as quickly as possible with the hopes that your faith in us can be restored." However, after **************** learned that we had moved to the **********, she quickly changed her tune and only offered to settle this matter for $1,250 even though I had explained via email that our damages exceeded $3,000 and even though I offered to settle this matter for $2,500. She later rebuked a letter from my attorney and apparently ignored his request to forward the letter to their attorney (we have not heard from their attorney).Business Response

10/3/2023 Movers from Amazing Moves broke the button mechanism on our reclining chair . Specialist team came out to repair, but could not and said someone would be in touch to handle . I have been trying to get some response or resolution to this problem since October 5. No one from the moving company will respond to my emails or calls . I was advised to just get the basic liability as the move was less than one mile away which I signed off on in attached contract. Was also advised as per attached letter , that my **************** card would cover any extra insurance I would need for damages as is not the case . To update you, I have never received a phone call from Amazing Moves, but did receive an email stating that they would pay me $100 for my broken electric recliner. The "Arhaus" chair retails for $3299 and now on sale for $1699. Needless to say the $100 won't go very far toward the purchase of another one. It is part of a pair of chairs I bought in September of 2022.
My issue with this company is that it was suggested to me that I shouldn't bother using their insurance for moving, instead charge on my **************** Platinum card which would cover me for any damages. Well, come to find out, that is only if I had purchased the chair in the last 90 days, and used my amex card for its purchase . So, when I chose the basic liability from the company and knowing I would only be moving a mile away, I felt confident in coverage based on my letter from the salesperson upon signing my contract. I did forward you that letter but am happy to do so again.
I feel like I was intentionally encouraged to not used their insurance, misled on the benefit of using my credit card. If I paid for their insurance they would have had to pay out for any damages. This company needs to stand by their "white glove" special moving service , which in every sense of the word, did not occur.
I am asking for full payment for another chair or to at least be compensated for the move . ** care was taken with these fine leather chairs....lucky the other one was not damaged also. Thanks for your assistance.

As has been typical regarding Amazing Moves communications, this does not represent an accurate characterization of the situation.
After Amazing Moves initial visit to see if they could fix the damaged chair, they determined it could not be fixed. At this point, the company went would not respond to repeated calls or emails for almost 2 months .
It was because of their refusal to even respond with any information, we reached out to American Express. We filed a complaint that the company fraudulently misrepresented their service claims and asked that AX investigate based upon our complaint. In particular, representations made by Amazing Moves that American Express would cover moving insurance if the card was used needed to be clarified.
We did not charge back the full cost of the move as well as the deposit. Standard procedures of AX card services is to remove charges while an investigation is in process.
I did in fact ask the company to reimburse for the move for the following reasons;
1. Fraudulent misrepresentation of insurance coverage.
2. Damage to a chair whose value far exceed the cost of the move.
3. The promise to have in house professionals handling the move, ie tier 1 and
white glove service Please see contract and email below from the company.
This representation that the movers were professionals was not the case The people that they had working were day workers not professionals. They, by in large seemed to have little experience in moving. My husband had to instruct them on how to take certain pieces apart for access through doors.
Further, we were appalled at how the load was packed and transported, most likely the reason behind the damaged chair. The move itself was fraught with chaos with the first driver arriving 1 1/2 late, a second mover (apparently the boss) needing to arrive with a second truck and two ************ to assist the original crew who was having difficulty completing the move. It was then that we were informed that this group was contracted by Amazing Moves.
It should be noted, also that this was a local move within a mile from one house to another in the same zip code of *****, *********, **
Our primary motivation here is that regardless of monetary compensation, consumers need to be aware of fraudulent misrepresentations of unethical companies like Amazing Moves.
That is why we contacted BBB.
We are also reaching out to the State ************************ of ******** Fraud.

At the end of the move, we will put back together anything we took apart, set up beds etc. We will also do a walk through at this time to ensure everything is in its proper room and make sure beds and dressers are on the correct walls etc.
Optional Insurance Based on the Weight of your Shipment
You get white glove moving service with us, take extra time and care with your furniture . We have a standard of excellence that many moving companies do not have.
I do try to add some buffer time in case of unforeseen circumstances such as pieces not fitting properly into the new home and doors having to come off, traffic etc. If everything is smooth you should be pleasantly surprised when you receive your final bill. I like to under promise and over deliver, if that makes sense.
Please read the following on how we charge:
TIME: We have a two hour minimum and after that we charge accordingly to the nearest of the hour. (Ex: If I quoted a 6 hour day but we finish early at 5.5 hours, then we charge accordingly for the 5.5 hours used.)
MATERIALS: Materials are used to prep and protect your belongings while in transit. We charge for actual materials used. (Ex: If I estimate that we need 10 stretch wrap for wrapping furniture but we end up using only 7, then we charge accordingly for the 7.)
FUEL: We charge $1.15 per mile, per truck

. Deposit: Call **********;************ and place your deposit w/ Credit Card (4% Fee) Or we can do an ACH Bank Transfer w/ no fee. Please call ***** again to set that up. I am having trouble meeting the deadlines when I receive letters from the BBB regarding this claim, just do to travel and missing the mail. It appears that **************** credited our account for the move, which I had requested in a dispute. So far, the company, Amazing Moves, apparently has not contacted AMX to the contrary .
