    I contacted this company after the death of my mother. I am mentally ill and I ask these people for help when I got the death certificate I gave it to them when I got the Affidavit of airship I gave it to them however they continue to delay in helping me I am not able to cash any of their checks because they will not transfer it over to my name Take these people for help they contact me in late December and tell me they're going to help me and then 2 weeks into January want me to send them the same c*** that I've already sent them They are delaying delaying and delaying thus making interest off of the money that they're holding they are criminal mentally ill man beg these people for help multiple times and got the real real round IMMEDIATELY CANCEL ALL MINERAL RIGHTS WITH THIS CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION Attached is my mother's death certificate and the Affidavit of airship with the star beside my name because my brother abandoned me here in ***** mentally ill man you have to learn but nobody wants to f****** help

    RE: Complaint ******** To Whom It May *********************** contacted SM Energy Company (SM Energy) on 11/28/22 to notify SM Energy that his 
    mother had died, and he was one of the heirs to her estate. SM Energy, in line with its standard 
    procedures to transfer mineral ownership, informed complainant that, in order to transfer his
    mothers estate to himself, SM Energy requires a recorded Affidavit of Heirship. On 12/27/2022 the 
    complainant provided a recorded Affidavit of Heirship via email. On 1/13/23, SM Energy contacted 
    the complainant because we were not able to open the Affidavit of Heirship in the format in which 
    it was sent. SM Energy requested that the owner provide it in a different file format. When this 
    request was made the complainant became angry and verbally abusive to multiple SM Energy employees 
    via several phone calls, voicemails and emails that included profanity.

    In an effort to deescalate the situation, SM Energy prioritized processing the request and 
    completed the transfer of interest in 12 business days. Requests of this nature are typically 
    processed within ***** days under normal business processes. Complainant was paid via check dated 
    1/24/23 which was the next occurring monthly revenue cycle.

    SM Energy acted in good faith and did everything that it could have to expeditiously resolve this 
    issue. SM Energy respectfully requests that you dismiss this complaint and take no action against 
    SM Energys BBB rating.
