My partner and I lived in one of Air Communities apartments called *********** for 3.5 years. The property manager, Page ********, charged us a pet deposit for our dog, $400, and pet rent of $75 a month. When we moved to a bigger apartment, we had to pay another pet deposit of $400. When we received our move-out statement, it stated we owed over $200 and didn't include our refundable pet deposits. The Fremont website states, "There is a refundable, one-time pet deposit of $300 per pet and a monthly pet rent of $35 per pet". Remember, we were charged $400 deposit times two and $75 monthly for our dog. When we confronted Page about this, she said that we paid administration fees, not deposits, and that our $800 is non-refundable. When asked about what it states on the website, she says that Colorado law changed on January 1st, 2024, and doesn't backdate for previous tenants. Utterly ridiculous. When I asked a friend in the building who had a dog if they paid a fee or deposit, they were charged the deposit. Mind you, they moved to the building in 2022. **** picks and chooses what she wants to charge each tenant for. There is no rhyme or reason to the madness. When I contacted the ******************* for clarification, I spoke to *******************************, who promised to look into this and reach out. She never did. Avoid Air Communities properties if you want to save your money and sanity.
