Hackbarth Roofing was paid to replace roof, gutters, and awnings at the business located at ***********************************************. We have reached out multiple times during the past three years. Hackbarth promises to resolve the issues, sets dates, and never shows up. 1. Replacement gutters never installed. Insurance claim ******** paid 11/25/2021. It "rains" in the kitchen through the ceililng and light fixtures during thunder and hail storms. Recent inspectors state that the gutter at the back of building is completely full of black soil and backing up into the kitchen. They also state the gutter should not have filled up that quickly (in less than 2 years) and the existing gutter is more than 2 years old. The gutter on the northwest side of the building backs up and overflows into the office outside the restrooms when it rains. Your proposal #**** dated 09/1/2021 stated gutters would be replaced. Your proposal included a "5-year workmanship warranty" on all work.2. Replacement awnings never installed. Insurance claim ******** We have yet to receive the replacement awnings which were part of the insurance settlement. Your proposal #**** dated 9/1/2021 stated the awning would be replaced. There are two: one at the front entrance of the building and one at the northwest entrance of the building. Your proposal included a "5-year workmanship warranty" on all work.3. Mitigate the water leaking into the frame of the new kitchen windows and reseal to prevent mold and algae growth. Recent inspection indicates there is algae in the lower corner of the northwest most window. There has been a recurrence of moisture between the window and the frame. You gave us a 3-year warranty on the windows that were installed 1/18/2022 with a "3-year Workmanship warranty". This was not part of the insurance claim.

I hired **** to get me new windows in November of 2023 and everything was going fine until he went to jail for a few months for a domestic violence charge. Then I didnt hear anything from him for months. Finally he got back to me and promsised he would bring the windows over the next day. This went on for weeks. Always coming up with some excuse as to why he couldnt bring them over. Then giving me new hope he was gonna come and then never showing up again. I used to work for ************* hes a friend and this continued no show is now gone on for too long. For the last month Ive been contacting him with no response. I still dont have any windows and nothing to show for the $7500 I paid. On top of that he was supposed to redo my porch and be partially finished that job that I paid $700 for and then the whole thing failed and now Ive had to hire another company to redo the porch job. He has done this same thing to many other people in the past. Collecting money and never completing or doing the job.

Bankrupt, morally and financially. **** and his staff make promises left and right before the sale, but then fail on these promises repeatedly. My contract was executed in June, and after countless, and I mean countless, promises to show up and finish the job, I get repeated no shows and excuses. To this day, **** was paid to replace a roof and skylight, and given a $740 deposit for another section on the contract. After I finally asked for money back, its been over a month of repeated promises to repay the deposit, a bounced check, and more missed appoints to repay than I can count. Its now late December and I have a stream of written commitments, broken, which Ill now have to show in court to get resolution. Terrible company who will never keeps its word, and Ill be forced to *** for the refund, not to mention warranty enforcement. I will be seeking no less than $3500 in damages and court fees to enforce the contract and warranty. Id be happy to share the contract and endless text messages and voice messages, but the owner is certainly well aware.
