During the summer we hired ** ****** to clear the location of a rental building we were going to do on our property and pour the concrete foundation. After he cleared the area we decided to build our house there instead and not do the rental. He had already dug a small area for the original foundation work. He never showed back up for 3 months. We called and left voice mails and he never responded. Finally last summer he came and spoke with us and admitted that he owes us about $15,000 and would work it off ( I do have this on a voice recording) The reason I did not file earlier is I tried to work it out with him and took him at his word. i just want anyone else to get ripped of by himBusiness response

This project was multiple years ago, We built a whole rv park 16ft wide roads cut out roads brought in structural fill graded roads cleared a few acres of land of trees and brush, we also built multiple rv pads dug hundreds of feet of utility lines, backfilled lines. For the foundation we did site preperattion raised about a 150' by 150' area compacted a couple of feet, removed trees and brushes from area as well, we dug the foundation to the plans hiedi and john gave of from the building department, We had left the job site for a couple weeks while the finalized their permits and funding, The day my crew should up again with forms and equipment to prep for pouring the concrete foundations , john and heidi had cancelled the job and said they were going to go another direction, So yes there deposit money they had paid had been used to do all the site prep and pay for machines employees and diesel to get to the point we where, After the decided to go another way they wanted a full refund for all the work that had been done. This was their decision to go another route the day we were getting ready to form to pour concrete, I am sorry things did not work out between us again this job was multiple years ago as wellCustomer response

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because: I was really hoping the he would be truthful and remorseful that he took advantage of friends. However, that it is not the case and his entire response if filled full of lies and half truthsNo, ** did not build a "RV Park” as he stated, he actually created a couple of RV spots for the RV's that we own. He did remove trees and shrubs from these areas; however, he took the good trees for his personal use before he asked if he could take them. We also hired him to excavate the area for the driveway, lay road base, secure the bond and driveway permit that the county requires. ** excavated the driveway and continued other excavation as previously paid to do. I received an email from **** with the coun** stating that Ty had never secured he bond that he was to have done before work was started. We were not aware that he did not secure the bond with the coun** but we were very aware that he did not complete the culvert that we had already paid him to do. This was first requested in April of 2022 via email from **** to ** and she sent the final request in July 2022 and finally figured out months after he started and already had the driveway finished for several months. He never did do the culvert he was also supposed to do.
The next project we paid ** to do was to dig a hole for our 2500-gallon cistern, level this area, place and compact sand and some electrical trench’s and finally back fill over the cistern and electric trench's. Just as the other projects that we paid him to do, this one was not completed as well. He set the cistern on July 12th (see attached pictures) and we while we were waiting on the well guys to do their work before he could back fill it.
He then started on the foundation trench work. On August 22nd, my husband John, withdrew $34,000 in the form of a cashier’s check for 50% down on the contract that he had signed and gave to ** (I am waiting to get the copy of the cashier’s check from the bank).During the time he was waiting the the water guys he did the excavation, trenching for the foundation. Another project he did not complete. He left this trench open and without tape warning people of the open hole.
Around Nov 4-5th, while back filling the dirt he punctured the side and top of the cistern with the excavator. We met with Ty on Nov 7th and told him that we need to turn it into his insurance company and he said that the process would talk several months. ** said (I have this conversation recorded) he would cover the warran** if something would happen because once he repaired it, that would void the lifetime warran** we had. (I now believe he didn't have insurance at the time) and we all agreed (see attached pictures of damage) We also learned later that he never compacted the sand underneath or leveled it out completely before he back filled the cistern. After it filled with water it had shifted and is now unlevel.
We had made several attempts to meet with ** regarding the foundation but no call or text were returned until December. I have a voice recording of our entire hour and a half meeting where is states that he does owe us money, we were asking for $25,000 he would state only $15,000 but would need to make payments in the Spring when business picked up. My husband and I spoke about it after the meeting and we figured the $15,000 would be better then nothing. From the day we agreed to the $15,000 he will no longer return calls, texts or emails or the many Facebook post that I have asked for a response. I have even gone to the job site down the road and will try and contact the GC there to see if we can get any further assistance.
Finally, I am only able to upload 5 items and the proof I have is much greater. I also have all of the voice and video recordings, pictures, text and emails during all of our meetings and they are too large for this but if he responds to this I will attach more at that point.
Thank you

We contracted with Ty L*****/Concrete Craft in June this year (2023). His team was supposed to remove carpet from the basement level in our Telluride home, grind the concrete floor, then seal it. When they removed the carpet they found moisture, so Ty came out, supposedly to assess the situation. Without any facts about the way the home was constructed or what the actual conditions are, he told us the builder must have skipped necessary water mitigation steps, that fixing it would be a massive excavation and construction project, and that we might want to just sell the house and buy one of the homes he was building. He also tried to sell us on his property management services. We opted to gather information and alter the basement plan to grind, apply moisture barrier, and apply sealant. Ty and his team made empty promises about when they’d show up and they failed to communicate timing changes. The team that did the work had never used the moisture barrier before. Ty did not suggest a test patch. He did not supervise. He did not check their work. The team did a very sloppy job: - carpet tacks sealed in - concrete chips sealed in - hair sealed in - grinding grit sealed in - globs of overly thick sealant - sealant slopped onto the wood stairs - dirty handprints all over the walls Subsequent concrete experts have assessed the result and believe that the texture - beyond the hair and tacks and grit and concrete chips - is not from off-gassing bubbling, as Ty insists, but from grit and poor application. We don’t yet know how much it will cost to have Ty’s poor work corrected. Ty offered to send out the same team that did the poor work to fix “problem spots”, and offered to send that same team to do a full re-do for an additional $10k on top of the original $26k. A week ago we spoke with him and declined having those people back in our home. We asked Ty for a 50% refund of the $26k job. He has not responded.Business response

Yes after my team pulled up the carpet there was water coming up through the concrete floor. So we put a moisture primer down. To try and stop the water coming through the floor. The tiny bubble in the picture when I sent to the manufacturer of the product said it was a result of gasing moisture vapor trying to escape. I told them I would send my team to fix and remove the tax strips the left in the floor. When we proceed to do the floor we had told the home keener if we continued forward with the amount of moisture coming through the floor to proceed the would be zero warranty following the work because it was not guaranteed to fix the issue they do not want my team to fix the tax strips but i will not give a refund because we had verbal conversation multiple times this would be our best attempt to fix the problem but there would be not warranty to cover if it did not work because there home was built below the water table and the moisture primer is not a 100% garauntee off of recommendations of the manufacturerCustomer response

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because:
The behavior of the moisture barrier product with the sealant is not as conclusive as Ty suggests. The sloppy application of sealant that sealed in hair, concrete chips, carpet tacks, and grit is obviously the result of his team's work, as are the sealant smear on the wood stairs and the dirty handprints on the walls.Again, if Ty had ever come to see his team's poor result, he would know this, as Ty's employee admitted when he came back to review it himself.
Regards,

Concrete Craft poured a stamped concrete patio. It was supposed to be integral stain and ** told me he couldn’t get the color when the concrete truck showed up. He said spray on color was just as good. Concrete poured 9/21 and began flaking up 3/22. I called him and he said he would fix it. Wouldn’t return phone calls for 6 months, then said he would give me a quote to fix. Problem has gotten much worse and may need to replace patio. ** ****** does not stand behind his work!Business response

Hey ******* if you look at the complaint dates. This was a couple years ago. We did a new pour stamped concrete. I do not offer any warranty on new pours because I order my concrete from a local concrete redo mix supplier I do not make the mix designs. With this being said I can control the exact quality of mudd we use because another company makes it. Also the area they have complained about started to chip very small after winter. And it started to chip in a area the water constantly drips on wich will cause concrete to deteriorate if not mitigated it. I do show back up to the clients house and in my contracts in the terms and conditions it states if I have to come back for repair work. For factors outside of my control it will cost extra money. After examining the area I supplied them with an invoice for the new work and they were upset I wouldn't do it for free. There concrete also needs a new coat of sealer wich is an annual maintenance that homeowners are responsible for and wanted me to do and pay for outta pocket wich is obsurd. I have tried working with the ***** but I will not do work for free for them.Initial Complaint

On 2/14/2023 I entered into a contract with Ty Lovato and his company Concrete Craft of Durango to repair my concrete. I sent him a check for 1/2 the amount upfront for $2715 on 2/14/2023 and it was endorsed by Ty and cleared my bank on 2/21/2023. He ensured me the work would be completed asap when the snow cleared and within 90 days at the latest, see attached email from him. His worker finally came out May 18th and after power washing my sidewalk and patio and seeing the condition of the concrete it was determined it could not be repaired. Ty said he would come out and take a look himself and I thought we could look at other options such as replacing it entirely. Of course he never came back out and has not returned any of my phone calls, texts or emails. I finally sent him an email which I have attached dated May 30 demanding refund of my deposit within 7 days. Today is June 9 and I have not received a response or my refund. Since he will not respond to me I hope he responds to the BBB and you can help get a refund for me please.Customer response

Thank you for the follow up. He did not want to pay me any money. After months of trying, many calls, texts and emails, I finally got him to refund my money after trying for months of calling the business, the parent company, complaints on ******** and of course with the BBB. I do not believe the service this business provides should warrant an A Rating with BBB.
