bought a truck in Denver sight un seen that was due to run and drive after paying for the truck and driving up to get it found out it did NOT run and drive contacted this shop explained the situation to them and had my truck towed there for inspection and a repair estimate was given a price for the repairs around $1,000.00 after repairs where made was then informed there would be more repairs needed in excessive of 5k to get the truck to run and drive at that point they where informed i would be seeking legal recourse with the dealership that sold the truck as a run and drive. the shop informed me that the dealership is know for this kind of thing in the area and not to worry about it and let him know what the out come is with court. we are still in a legal battle with the said dealership so it was decided to have the truck hauled back home to ******* now all of a sudden the bill has jumped from 1000 to almost 6K with no mention of the increase nor any communication from the shop until the day the transport company showed up to pick up the truck.

    Business Response

    Hello,

Here is the response to the case filed by ***** *****.

The truck was dropped off over night due to the fact that it did not run. The customer had stated that the truck quit running shortly after picking it up from the purchased company. Customer tried to solve issue with no luck, therefore dropping it in our yard for work. When we were able to get ahold of the customer he explained what had happened along with the situation with the business where he purchased said truck. Customer wanted us to run a diagnostic to figure out why the truck would not start and run. After diagnosing it we reached out to inform the customer, we discussed the whole situation and offered to help as much as we can to get the truck running and back in his possession to get back home. We got the truck running but was very sluggish and had a major loss of power which we relayed to the customer. The customer stated to stop working on the truck because he was in a legal battle with the business he purchased the truck from. After months of not hearing back Adrenaline Diesel Performance reached out numerous times via phone call due to not having any other contact information. We had left numerous voicemails asking to return calls so that we could get things figured out. 5 months went by with no response. Finally we were able to get ahold of the customer where he stated he was going to decide if he wanted to go through with finishing what we started and to get the truck running properly and that was it. The customer sent a message to our ******** page on August 02, 2022 where he states he tried calling back numerous times. We checked our phone records where calls are held for 3 months with no record of said number in system. We have an automatic message that ask customers to please call as we are short handed and there’s only the two of us. We reached out right away via phone call on August 02,2022 with no answer. I informed the customer what our business hours are and asked to please call within them to get it figured out. The customer continued to try messaging us on Messenger with no attempt of calling the shop. The customer stated he tried calling but once again no response, he also stated that he had a transport scheduled to pick the truck up. Customer Stated he tried “Texting” the shop phone but due to it being a business landline they were not received on our end. Again we called with no response, from there I messaged the customer on ******** telling him we don’t have the time to sit and message him over a social media app and to please call the shop. Customer called hours after we closed and left a voicemail to which I called back the following day where we discussed the rules of storage.  Customer asked for the invoice and gave an email address where we emailed the invoice. Customer was not happy to see the invoice had a storage fee attached to it therefore finally calling to complain about the storage fee. I explained that when he gave us the permission to work on the vehicle and had an open invoice that our rules apply. We have a sign that clearly states that vehicles left past 5 days begin obtaining a storage fee. We tried numerous times to contact the customer with no response other than him messaging on ******** where he was asked to contact the shop to discuss the matter. Customer didn’t care to respect our rules as a business and tried to have someone just pick up the truck without paying the storage fee. We informed them that the customer is refusing to communicate with us and refuses to pay the invoice so the truck will not be released until the invoice is paid. We have emailed and tried calling multiple times but the customer refuses to contact us back and in turn went to the BBB. We are all about taking care of our customers any way we can but we also have rules that protect us from being taken advantage of.

    Sincerely,
    Austin M*******
