      I reached out to have turf installed and a rep ****** "ZO" ******** came out took some measurements stating they are from ** and run the business there and FL I got a quote and asked to make a few changes and was called by *************************** who claimed to own both business we talked about the work needing to be done and we worked out a price and he asked if I could pay in cash because of the discount he gave me which I said I would. He asked me to send my deposit to his wife's Venmo (************************* *********************** @*************************-20) and pay the balance in cash.4/4/24 I sent a $4,000 deposit to her Venmo. I told him we would have to wait until I had a repair done on a gas line scheduled on 4/19/24. I text ***** to let him know the repair was complete and would like to schedule the turf and he said he was finishing a job and it would be a few weeks. I was going out of town on vacation and let him know we would have to do it before or after and he said he have to do it after I got back. I got back from vacation I reached out to schedule the work to be done I called and text a few times with no response. I finally got a text a few days later that he was still on his big job I asked for a start date he responded saying he hasn't forgotten about me hes trying to figure out when he would be done with his big job. About 10 days went by and a few text with no response trying to figure out what was going on and he responded "I'm sending your deposit back" the next day he blocked my number and stopped texting me. I reached out to his wife a few times since I sent the deposit to her Venmo and haven't heard anything from her. I called from a different number since he has my number blocked and he answered and said he is not going to steal my money but had some life events happen and will send me a check refund. I have reached out through different sources Call, ****************** (personal and a few companies he owns) and haven't been able to get my refund

      Brian Richmond, (303-349-2368) ([email protected]) is the owner of COLORADO TURFIN COMPANY. I had the company replace my sod in the back yard with turf. After the new turf was put in my back yard I discovered that I had a big hole under the turf, so I pulled the turf back and found that one of my sprinkler line end cap that they covered up had blown off. The end piece was not put on tight enough to handle the pressure of the water. I put a cap back on tightly and call Brian to see if he would put the turf back in place. He did it, but it was NOT easy to get him to do it. He likes to think that every one is threating him so he can get out of the repair. Recently, I had another cap pop off under the turf. I call Brian to see if he would repair it. He said sense I pulled the turf back that I voided the warranty.

      Turf was installed 8/2022. Immediately noticed one section had matted down / flattened spots like it was stored wrong or crushed. It was across the entire width, every 2'-0". Brian told me to give it time, the sun would heat it up and the turf would stand up. I gave it until 6/2023, it didn't change. Brian agreed it was a warranty issue. They sent guys in 8/2023 to brush in more sand, it did nothing. Between 8/2023 and 11/2023 text messages were exchanged, where Brian had me get in touch with the turf manufacturer as he claimed it was a turf defect, not an installation defect. I spoke with one company for 2 months to find out it wasn't their product. Then around thanksgiving i was put in touch with a different manufacturer. Around the same time, Brian said they were getting out of the turf business. The turf manufacturer came to our house and verified the turf role must have been stored incorrectly, but they would help me out and provide the turf for the repair, even though the warranty clearly states that the purchaser (Coloardo Turfin') should notify the manufacturer immediately with any defects. They didn't, they just installed a defective product. The manufacturer also shared some interesting stories about doing business with this company and had ceased doing business with them around the time my turf was installed. Where Brian lied, repeatedly, was the manufacturer DOES NOT cover the cost for the labor of the repair. He also lied that the turf would be fixed by the sun. He also didn't follow the warranty of the manufacturer as they should have notified the manufacturer as soon as they saw the issue and not installed it. I now see they started a new grifting company called Timeless Grass and Greens. BUYER BEWARE!!! I'm going to be out thousands of dollars to make this repair and they are back to their scam which includes horrible customer service. If you decide to do business, get a bulletproof contract to protect yourself.

      A lot of incorrect details in the complaint. But the turf was stored in the wrapping provided by the manufacturer. Know see how we could’ve stored it wrong as we picked it up from the warehouse that the manufacturer stores it. Not sure how that would ever fall on the installer. We were instructed by a rep named Nick with EZ Turf and he instructed us to add infill to help with the issues with the fibers. It’s standard practice in the industry. As far as us fixing damaged turf for free by ripping the defective turf and and re-installing the new turf, that can’t possibly fall on the installer as we have no say in how the turf is stored, shipped, or manufactured. It’s unfortunate this has happened, but if the manufacturer provided damaged goods, it’s on them to replace and repair. Not to mention, when using that supplier, we have 6 different warranty claims that they denied them all. So of course they would say it’s us, they never warrantied 1 roll of turf we purchased from them. THATS the real reason the business partnership didn’t continue. They can say whatever they want about us, but that’s the truth.

      Hello,

      Nick confirmed that Colorado Turfin' utilized their own facility to store product as they ordered in bulk.  Also, the section with issues was rolled opposite of how the other rolls were delivered.  My assumption is the last 2 pieces, which should have been one long piece, were scraps from storage that were rolled in on themselves.  Brian never shared lot info or details of the turf being installed.  Additionally, as shown in the attached warranty from the manufacturer, see attached Purchaser's Obligation to Inspect Upon Delivery, it is the responsibility of the purchaser, Colorado Turfin', to notify them about manufacturer defect AND not install it.  Brian chose to install it.  If he has communication from Nick to proceed with installation and try infill, he should share that, but he hasn't and he won't, because it didn't happen.  Nick was not aware of this situation, insomuch that Nick traveled to my house from California to see it in person in February 2024.  Nick also stated he hadn't talked to Brian even prior to my install as Brian was not paying his bills and was becoming hostile, to the point that Nick had asked his boss to take the account over.  
      Additionally, not even 2 years after installation, the seams are failing, and as you'll see in the attached, they used ProtectoWrap, a product used on buildings, not for turf.  Yet another failure on installation.
      Furthermore, the turf manufacturer, despite Colorado Turfin' failing to follow warranty protocol have generously offered to provide free material for that entire section, approxx 10'x55' and I will be forced to pay the labor to replace that section and fix the seam, both items Colorado Turfin' should be responsible for.  I'm requesting $7,500 to pay for the labor to replace the turf and fix the seam was not done correctly, which is more than fair based on the evidence provided.

      Again, a lot of non-truths. And it appears that all Nick is trying to do is make false accusations and slander me. As unfortunate as that is, the truth is their protocol was for me to place an order and pick up at XPRESS Global in Aurora. Passing the blame is what my experience was with that particular manufacturer and did all they could to avoid warranty claims. 

      it’s clear that Nick and Tony are attempting to get money out of me for something that I can’t do anything to prevent and take personal, inaccurate shots at me. Regardless of the he said, he said, The turf is a warranty claim, as EZ Turf has agreed with because they are providing new materials (according to Tony) Again, I’m not sure how I would be expected to pay anything for their turf failing. It’s standard with other manufacturers that if there’s a warranty/manufacturer defect, the manufacturer pays for the turf to be torn out and re-installed. Again, it’s clearly an EZ Turf problem and as far as me AND MOST other manufacturers are concerned, they pay for the turf to be installed again. Maybe Mr. Tony should be filing a complaint with the manufacturer instead of attempting to put this on an installer.

      Please provide proof Nick directed you to install a defective product.  He has not spoken with you since or before my turf install as you failed to pay your bills.  If you did pay your bills, prove it.  Prove the lot #’s of the turf that was installed.  You can’t and you won’t.  
      EZ Turf has been upfront and honest during this entire situation.  Colorado Turfin’ has pushed blame to others for clear failure to not install a defective product, then lied to their customer,me, that “the sun will fix it”.  Without proof, you are lying.  It should not have been installed, and when it was, it became an installation issue, just like the turf seam that’s already failing.  
      Why no response on using a building product for turf?  I submitted pictures and a link to the product to prove that was done incorrectly as well.  Again, an installation issue.  
      Lastly, in November of 2023, you sent me a text that you were “getting out of the turf business”.  Another lie. 
      If you’re unwilling to cover the expenses to fix your mistakes we will have no choice but to publish public reviews, including pictures, text messages and emails to validate our claims and protect others from being scammed and lied to.

      Again, more unwarranted and more FALSE claims about me and the interactions I had with EZ Turf, Nick Jensen. I have attached screen shots as to the approximate date of your installation and the last communication I had with Nick (Roughly 9 months after your installation.) But you can continue to make false allegations and claims, threaten me with posts and reviews. You seem to have the picture in your head that EZ Turf is not at fault and I’m a liar and scumbag. I will not continue this back and forth and allow you to continue to slander me as a person. Mr Jensen is being very untruthful. And yes, the screen shots are date stamped. You can proceed as you please. But this is a turf manufacturer issue. I wish you the best, and as you text me, I will answer to the lord above and will no longer allow this slander to continue. I think it’s best that the BBB supports me in my concerns and frustrations with your awful attacks on me as a person. This stops now.

      I received artificial turf installation in my backyard on 7/18/23 from Colorado Turfin' with it being a practice/ putting golf green. After a couple of weeks went by, I realized some of the holes were left in an undesirable status. I called "Jon" initially to ask for help and see if a technician can come out to adjust the golf holes. Jon was my original sales rep and final phase installer. He claimed he no longer worked with the company and to contact the secretary, Ashley Richmond. I text messaged her. In the beginning, she was very helpful and said Colorado Turfin' will get a technician out later that week to fix my issue. Nobody showed up nor contacted me about the date I was promised. I text Ashley again numerous times and called and left voice messages with no reply to either. I then decided to email the company which I believe goes to the owner Brian Richmond. My emails were not replied to. I was able to uncover Brian's mobile number and got ahold of him via text message and voicemail. It took numerous attempts for him to reply to my messages/ calls. He said he will have a technician come out to address the issue and nobody showed nor contacted me again regarding the promised date. We went back and forth for about six to eight weeks with no resolution. Brian said they were very busy and will get back to me. I told him I realize the company might be busy, but he didn't even give me the chance to get on the schedule in the future or offer me dates even if they were further out. I was completely fine with getting on the schedule toward the end of the season. I finally text Brian and told him he has left me no choice other than to go through the BBB. He replied "okay". I still have the email of the warranty on the work and product of services rendered to me. The installation/ labor is warrantied for 1 year and the material is warrantied for 2 years.

      Date of transaction: August 31st 2021 Amount paid to Co turfin: $19,499.25 Co Turfin Order #634 Per Co Turfin’s. Warranty: If the product proves to be defective in materials or workmanship resulting in premature wear, during normal use of the product within 8 years of manufacturing, or suffers significant breakdown, Co turfin will, as its sole option is to repair or replace the affected area without charge to the purchaser. Co Turfin also provides a 2 year warranty on its workmanship. The turf that was installed by Co Turfin has become “wavy” in areas, the seams between the panels of turf have split and pulled apart, and numerous clumps of turf blades have torn away from the base. I have tired since Dec of 2022 to schedule a repair with them, however I was only able to leave a voicemail at the time an never received a response. I tried to contact them through their social media but was also unsuccessful. I was finally able to contact them in January of this year and finally got a response stating that it would be an easy fix. Since they I have attempted multiple times to contact them, though the phone number that returned my texts, and have been told they will get it on the schedule. The only time it actually got scheduled was for 04/28 and they did not show up. I have continued my attempts but have either gotten the usual “We’ll make it happen” or no response at all.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      I spoke with representative from the company on 07/26 who said it would taken care of and that they would contact me the week of 07/31 to schedule the work. I was then asked for pictures of the damage as well as being asked if they left spare turf here after the initial install.  This had all been covered in previous communications with the company. After not hearing back from anyone, I contacted the representative again on 08/03 and was told he would “get back with me later in the day” as he was currently in Florida working. I still haven’t heard from him or anyone else and this seems to be the same pattern that led us to where we are now.

      We contacted Colorado Turfin to install turf and rock in our backyard for our house back in April 2022 with a estimate of $13,069.40 given on April 4th 2022 which we agreed on. This service was completed on the 26th of April 2022 with a warranty signed attached as (Contract.pdf). For a few weeks we had no issues until long seams start developing in the turf (see Starting_turf.png). Once this happened we contacted Brian who left us his number in an email see attachment(see Brian_email.png). On May 9th we first contacted Brian with the problem sending him images of the seams and stating the issues, with him saying “Give it a couple months. If it doesn't improve. Call me and I'll send a crew”. See attachment for screenshot (Brian_Text1.png). Trusting him we wait a few months with no improvement. On August 16th we text him again with a new set of images and the conversation lead nowhere (Brian_Text2.png). This happens again where I am just ignored for months or to contact him in a few weeks until April 7th 2023 where he gives us a new number Ashley (Brian_Text7.png). After contacting Ashley initially it looks like everything is going in the right direction and we get a date of April 28th set for a crew to come and fix our turf. However, when the day came no one arrived, and we were not notified, we had to reach out to Ashley and was told we will reschedule ASAP but a date never came. (Ashley_text6.png). On May 8th 2023 we asked for any updates and was told she ordered the turf needed and will provided updates soon. However we were not provided any updates for over 1.5 months and only replied after asking for an update multiple times (Ashley_text11). Her last text on June 26th says she would have a date that afternoon for a crew to come out, however, after responding asking for a confirmation and a 48 hour notice I have not yet received a date on when they will come fix my turf. It has been over a year since we reported the issue and we just want to get this done.

      I recently spoke to Clay Anderson regarding this complaint. I resolved the business message thinking it was an acknowledgment of their message of getting it done and not that they fixed the issue. 

      They had me scheduled in for the 8th of August and after receiving an email about the case being closed I received this text attached from the owner Brian. This job was not done and he acknowledges he will not come on the 8th to fix it. I would like this case reopened. I apologize for any issues I caused as I thought the acknowledgment by me was just the business message and not job.

      We hired the company to place artificial turf in our backyard. The work was completed Thursday, March 9th 2023. The owner, Brian, did not accompany the subcontracted employees at the time of service. They showed up without announcing themselves and started working in our backyard. Our backyard was still full of ice/snow that was covering brand new mulch we wanted to salvage. The owner, Brian, assured us that they would melt the ice with a torch and I could save the mulch- he even stayed the would assist me. This did not occur- they instead used a rotary chopper on a skid steer to prep the area. I was not able to recover any mulch. We were quoted to do both sections of yard- a few hours into the project I noticed that they had not started digging up the second section. When I messaged the owner- he responded very condescendingly and asked why I wasn’t out there telling the workers what to do. He reported he was busy with court stuff and didn’t have time to deal with my requests. When the work was completed- then team simply left without notice. They left behind poor margins, unsecured landscape edging with bent over pins and tons of mud/debri on our sidewalks and driveway. The owner did not verify that the job was to satisfaction- he just sent the bill for the remaining balance. When I questioned that and sent photos of what needed to be repaired. He proceeded to call me and be very belligerent on the phone- telling me I was being unreasonable. He said he would send someone to fix it, but we better have the “check in hand”. I passed this issue onto my husband who called Brian. Brian then proceeded to threaten us if we didn’t pay and said he would “make our life hell” We made the decision to pay all funds to diffuse the situation and avoid the possible repercussions of a very unstable and unprofessional individual. I would like a partial refund for having to repair the issues ourself. I do not want the owner back on my property after he threatened my family

      There’s a lot of pieces to this story untold. Like the fact that when I called her the following morning to help resolve her concerns, she proceeded to scream at me, call me a “******* snowflake” and that I was not allowed on her property to fix her concerns. Also as you can see, or cannot find on the estimate is anything about the edging. The home owner said she would provide the edging and install it prior to us arriving. The fact that she’s trying to get reimbursed or money back for something that we attempted to fix, and didn’t charge her for in the first place is absurd! Screaming at me and name calling is completely uncalled for and unacceptable. The fact she’s attempting to play the victim, is a complete joke and flat out lie. She didn’t pay for those materials or installed as she promised and then didn’t allow us to fix them. This post should be removed and disposed of

      I am rejecting this response because: Please read all prior BBB reports- the owner seems to respond to all conflict in the same manner, hence his “F” rating on the site. I just hopes this helps others steer clear and find a more reputable turf installation company. I would not let him step foot on the property because he threatened my husband over the phone- stating “I will fuck you up” and I’ll “get money from your hide, if you don’t pay me”. We have this all recorded and will start our police report since he is obviously not going to be resolved in an appropriate manner

      We had artificial turn installed on 7/27/21. We were very pleased at the time. We had been working with a great sales rep, Heather who always went out of her way to help us. A couple days after our install we noticed a spot that did not look the same. Almost like it was not "fluffy". Heather told us to give it a few days to see if it came up and it did not. She came out and said they forgot to put sand down on that part. She had said she would send people over and we did see some people with our cameras that were there but did not catch anything past them walking by our door. Problem did not change. We have been trying to contact the owner, Brian for a long time now to come out and take a look at it. We are still well in our two year warranty for workmanship and it seems he is trying to wait out the time until that is no longer available. He told me at one point he "has a lot going on" and couldn't make it by our house. Turns out his " a lot going on" is him cracking a beer on his brand new boat he bought last year. He apparently "drove by" and said he didn't see anything wrong and was proud of the work. When questioned more on it he said he doesn't know what else we want him to do. We said tear it up and fix it in which he said he doesn't carry that turf anymore. All we wanted was him to come to our house, see the issue and talk to us face-to-face so we can get this fixed. We ask him to come by on a certain day, he straight up says, "no" and will let us know when he does. We have been waiting months. Still nothing. We spent $14,000. We work very hard for our money and it is like getting spit in the face by this company. I wish we would have looked here and all the terrible reviews on Facebook before this. So disappointed and the fact I tried being very kind and understanding that it was summer and he has a family but it is just clearly how he runs business.

      On June 13, 2022, I entered into a contract with Brian R******* and Colorado Turfin' to put in turf in my front and back yard and a French drain under the turf. The total cost of the project was $15,918.62. I paid half up front and then the other half on June 30, 2022 when the project was complete. My irrigation company noticed that one of the sprinkler heads had been covered by the turf. On July 13, 2022, I attempted to contact Brian to get someone out to cut the turf around the sprinkler head. I attempted to contact him again on July 15, 2022 when I did not hear back from him. I tried again on July 25, 2022 and then again on July 26, 2022. He sent me a text that he couldn't talk and was out of town on July 26, 2022. After not hearing from him, I contacted him on August 8, 2022. He said he was out of town and would be back on around August 17, 2022. I reached out again on August 19, 2022 about the sprinkler head and a trench that seemed to be forming under the turf which may have been caused by the French drain they put in. He refused to communicate with the irrigation company to schedule a time to cut around the sprinkler and the text messages from him are increasingly aggressive. I let him know that I would be filing a complaint with BBB and a possible civil suit if he would not fix the issues. When the irrigation company could not make the time, Brian refused to provide another opportunity to make this right.

      Read the Text messages from me, Owner Brian and Sales Person Heather! I have never been treated like this before when I want to spend 30k with a company. So I had this company come out to my house 4 years ago for an estimate from the Garden and Home show. We decided to wait at this point to pull the trigger. 3 Years later (2021) we were looking to sell our house and buy a smaller house for Parker while we moved fully to Mexico. Heather came out and gave us the quote on the new home. Well the lender messed up the loan big time so we had to cancel buying the new home. We decided to wait till we sell our home we are in before buying another first now. Fast forward 9 months. Market shifted and we took our home off the market. So now we wanted Turf in our front yard in old home instead. I tried texting them and calling them before finally getting a response. Now read the photos uploaded here. As the Text says to Heather that we should apply $1,000.00 Dollars to another job. I was ready to have Turf on my house and this is how the owner talks to his clients. Also he called me and was wanting to go fight somewhere since I told him I would be putting up reviews. Grow up Brian learn how to treat clients. They lost an easy sale because of Owner Brian having a big head. Shocked he has any clients at all. PS: Heather was great Company not so much.
