In 2024 AAA installed a furnace and water heater. On their Website there is a rebate offered.I had issues with the furnace and a technician came to my home. It was resolved but he broke a large tree limb when pulling in my driveway. I made my attempts to have both of these issues resolved. Texting, calling and letter writing to no avail.

I was able to speak directly with ****** shortly after he submitted this issue. We have agreed to provide the promised rebate for the recently installed furnace and to cover any expenses for the damaged tree.

ASA plumbing in *************** said there would be one technician coming and would complete service in 2 hours. Price would be quoted. When he arrived he said he cant do work on drains. Only plumbing. Another technician would need to come out for an additional price. Same company but two service charges. I was not told this at the time of booking and the service person, *****, acted like she hd no idea why the technician said this. Then she said im the next sentence that this is standard procedure. Do not use this company. They will scam you out of money. Ridiculous.

Called AAA plumbing to unclog drain on washer. They spent 2 hours with an electric snake and told me it was fixed. They charged me 342 dollars which I thought was high. After 3 loads of laundry the pipe shot water all over floor again. Called again to tell them the same problem has occured. They didn't show the first day and finally showed around 7 pm the 2nd day. I asked if they were charging me again and the workers called for me to talk to an extremely rude manager. He said he wasn't charging for the call but for the labor. I asked how can you justify that when it wasn't fixed first time. He started yelling at me over phone so I told workers to just go to the house.

I requested a breakdown of the invoice due to the excessive charge.I paid the total amount of $1147, for a faucet replacement, at the time of the service. Due to the short time to complete the repair (less than 1 hour), cost of faucet, hourly charge and trip fee, I requested an itemized invoice outlining each costs. I understand this is not a requirement, but most companies have no problems with justifying their costs.I requested the breakdown, from their technician, upon completion of the repair (on a Friday, during normal business hours) and was told to call the main office the following Monday. On 1/6 I contacted the main office and was informed the plumbing manager would call me back and it could take up to 48 hours. I called again on 1/9, 1/10 and 1/14. Each time the call center staff were very helpful but again I got no where. At each call, the staff would apologize for nobody getting back with me and they would look to see if he was in the office, apologizing again when they couldnt find anyone and said the plumbing manager *******, would get back with me. They never stated that this request could not be completed. As of today, I have never received a call back or itemized invoice.I began having concerns when the technician was trying to fix other things that I did not request. I had to let him know to please only look at the faucet. When I questioned the high amount, the technician said he wants the customer to be happy so what would I like to pay. I responded that I was not sure, as plumbing is not my field of expertise, but considering it was less than an hours work, $50 part, $49 trip fee and his hourly rate, I thought $1147 was a bit excessive for this type of repair.I am just trying to get an itemized breakdown, to justify the high cost. The repair occurred during normal business hours, so I cannot determine why the final amount was so high, or if a honest mistake was made.Thank you for your assistance.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ******** and will agree to close the compliant. The business representative stated that they are not able to provide an itemized breakdown because they pay the customer's taxes, on each job. They use this standard cost to cover all jobs, whether the job is hours or less than an hour, or if its an involved or easy job. The company wanted their customer to be happy and said he would credit $250 back to my account, which I agree with.

BBB, thank you for your assistance in this matter. Based on this companies business practice, I will no longer use or recommend this company.

      Sincerely,

      ***** **********

On January 2, 2025 the water heater in a 2nd floor condominium at *************************************************************************** leaked into the unit below. The tenant (our son) called ***. He had to turn off the water to the entire building until they arrived. ***** ****** and his assistant arrived at the property at 8am. They vacuumed up the water in the unit below and were able to get the water for the building turned on and cut off the water to the heater. After inspection they told my son that not only was the water heater in need of replacement but so was the furnace. My son informed them that he was renting the property from his parents and handed the phone to his Dad **** ********. After asking for a quote for just the heater, my husband called a vendor we were familiar with who thought this quote was way out of line. My husband asked for a quote for both the furnace and heater. Mr. ****** said it would be $16,000. This was an outrageous price. I spoke directly with Mr ****** and asked how much was owed at that moment. He told me just the service fee of $49 which he would collect from my son. I made a clear verbal statement to Mr. ****** that he was to continue work. He then collected $1000 on my son's debit card and left the property in sub freezing weather with the furnace unassembled. "Best for Less Heating and Cooling" came right over and assembled the furnace. The fee for this was $989.55". They concluded that just the motor on the furnace needed replacing. The total cost (with a new water heater) was $3,300.35 We have phoned AAA multiple times. The manager promised to refund the $1000. We reimbursed our son. We were promised that *** would send us a check. It has been three weeks of chasing them on the phone without any result.

I paid them to fix my furnace. It was sub zero weather and we were 2 senior citizens with health issues. They came out the first night and said my furnace was fixed. It was not and we froze all night and the next day until they sent someone out again. He worked on furnace and installed a new motor and said it was fixed. It was not. Again we were left freezing. They came a third time after being in dangerously cold conditions now for Three days and said I needed a new furnace. They said the would apply the $867. I had already paid them towards a new furnace and another $500 for all the pain and suffering. We had gone thru. But only if we bought their $8000-9000 furnace. I found an HVAC technician who would install a new high efficiency furnace for half that price. I called them and requested a partial refund. I thanked them for sending people out. I wished to return the brand new motor that had never been used because my furnace never worked after they worked on it, but they refused. The $500 they said they would compensate me for all the missteps they had made in diagnosing the problem now became $49 since I was not buying a furnace thru them. Those three days put both myself and my roommate in ***** way. I spent 3 days in the emergency **** of ********************* last year about the same time due to pneumonia. My roommate is a breast cancer survivor and has severe COPD. Had they diagnosed the problem correctly in the beginning we would not have had to suffer so badly for these days. A decent compensation would have ended this dispute. For 3 day I worked feverishly to keep my pipes from freezing. Moving space heaters and turning on water faucets constantly became exhausting. I felt an offer of $49. Was an insult. Especially since their offer of $500 for pain and suffering was only valid if I bought their furnace. Thank you for giving me a voice.

On Dec. 4th 2024, it was noted that our basement had flooded. On Dec 4th we contacted multiple plumbers to get quotes. AAA Plumbing seemed to be the best option and presented trustworthy so we went with them. They quoted us ****** for a new plumbing line to the city from the existing line within our house. This included a permit, inspection, passing of an inspection, and utilization of the existing route to the house. *** performed a job, but it was not the job discussed. They did not pull permits, failed the inspection once permits were pulled, called us to tell us that the inspector was fired?, and said the pipes wont freeze even though they are not buried beneath the frost line. The coating surrounding the pipes is the wrong size, is not properly sealed, and they drilled a hole into our foundation without prior discussion. They refuse to have any conversation in email form and attempt to call us though we have made it abundantly clear that we are dissatisfied and want the job done right for the money. I will only be satisfied with the following:That the time and grievance this whole ordeal has caused be removed from the charges in the value of $5000 AND The job be finished in the way that was originally discussed with the proper size fittings and seals AND That this business no longer contact my husband or myself for any reason (marketing or otherwise)

On November 21, 2024 we discovered a leak from the base of a toilet. We were scheduled to leave early the next morning so needed quick attention. I found AAA online (not knowing they were not a local ******************* company) and arranged for service. The plumber sent, before anything was done, provided an "estimate" of $855. Had we not had to leave the next day, I would have shown the plumber the door. However, I presumed the estimate would be adjusted based on the actual work performed. The plumber removed the toilet, replaced the wax ring and possibly 2 bolts and reseated the toilet. The charge was still $855. I contacted *** and requested a parts and labor invoice to justify the charge -- no *************** inquiries show average cost for this service by a plumber is $200-300 (DIY cost would be $15-20). There is no need for a licensed plumber for such a basic task, but we understand the need for a business to cover their costs and make a reasonable ********** has ignored my requests for feedback and provided no justification for their predatory charge of almost triple the high-end average cost. We feel a refund of at least $555 is justified.

AAA has offered a refund $429 (1/2 the charge), but indicated I could also forward to them bids from or reputable firms. I have asked for an email address to forward those bids to -- so far less than $200.

In addition to the initial refund of $429, we refunded $168.50 to bring the final price of the project to $260.50. The $260.50 represents the average amount from the other estimates the customer received. We hired AAA Plumbing Heating Electric to replace our furnaces and air conditioning in our home after they came out for a repair Service call when our existing A/C stopped working. We paid them a premium rate of $36,094 for the job. AAA never completed the job, they stopped communicating with us, and we ultimately had to have someone else complete the work for us. Their installation attempts were negligent as the pictures provided by AAA clearly show. We attempted to work with ************** to resolve our issues, but they stopped communicating with us after our initial conversation and did not follow up with us to complete the job, despite all our efforts. We are filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and seeking a full refund of $36,094 from AAA. AAA sold us a Service at a premium and told us it would be completed within two days. They never finished the job, and seven weeks later we ultimately had to complete the job without AAA. AAA scammed us out of our money, and their management would not communicate with us or follow through on their commitments. We gave AAA one final chance to make this right after they failed inspection by asking the install manager, ****, to come to our house to meet the inspector for a follow up inspection. After multiple attempts, we finally got a call back from him and he told us to change our inspection date to a day he could be there to speak to the inspector, as we requested. We agreed to accommodate his schedule and changed the inspection, however **** never showed up, nor did he call us. We never heard back from **** or anyone at AAA after that. We ended up having to finish the job without AAA. AAA should not be allowed to operate as a business. They are scamming their customers by selling ******************** they will not provide, they refuse to allow you as the customer to speak to their upper management team; they will take your money and not follow through on what you pay them to do. Supporting attachments included.
