On June 2, 2022, I contacted Pipe X because water was backing up into the bathroom of my second floor condo and coming out of the drain for my bathtub. After 5 days of work that involved, at various points, 2 plumbers and 2 supervisors, Pipe X finally located the clog and was able to repair it on June 7. The piece of equipment that allowed them to locate the clog so that they could repair it was a beacon that they could insert into the clogged pipe and a handheld sensor that allowed them to locate the beacon in the walls. Sometime on the first or second day of work, the first plumber Pipe X sent mentioned that Pipe X had the beacon/sensor. However, Pipe X did not use the beacon/sensor until the fifth day of work. The first day of work mainly involved trying to use a pipe snake to clear the clog by going into the clogged pipe from my bathroom and realizing that was not going to work. The second through fourth days mostly involved searching through my building to try to find the clogged section of pipe so that it could be replaced, although Pipe X also sent a different plumber to try snaking the drain a second time. In the process of searching for the clog, Pipe X opened the walls of 2 units in my building. On the 5th day they were about to open the wall of a 3rd unit before using the beacon/sensor and realizing they were wrong about where the clog was located. I do not understand why they did not use the beacon/sensor sooner, and I do not think I should have to pay for all of the searching that they did, which could have been avoided if they used the beacon/sensor earlier. Pipe X sent me an un-itemized **** for $5,400. They have not responded to my request for an itemized ****. When I tried to speak with a supervisor about potentially reducing my ****, the supervisor yelled and swore at me and hung up on me.
