The company made me pay ***** for a pool key card that a previous owner lost. I tried to resolve the issue and get my money back however there was no resolution.

This is a *********************** that has rules in place to keep costs low and be fair to the membership. As the property manager, I am bound to follow and enforce the rules for the association, and take direction form the ***** of ************************ policy that was adopted by the board, was that one pool key card is issued per unit. It then becomes the responsibility of the owner to replace it (@$25.00) if it lost, stolen, or damaged.

When she bought the condo over 2 years ago, the seller, the sellers agent, her real estate agent, herself, did not read the policies or insure that the seller transferred the pool key to the new owner.

She filed the needed paperwork (after discovering no pool key card....but probably never contacted any of the other parties involved) and paid for the key replacement at that time.

She has now called the management company unethical and has filed this complaint.

She has also been invited to attend all board meetings, and if she wishes to bring her new request (after 2 years) before the board.

Let me know if any other questions,

I am rejecting this response because:  I find it very unethical that you would hold a new owner responsible for a pool key that was lost by a previous owner. The board needs to change this rule to make things fair  across the board. You cant offer one owner a new pool key then make another owner pay. It's something that needs to be changed by the board. I have not been able to attend any of the board meetings due to work. I cant afford to take off work for this.

    Sincerely,
