02/02/24: Engine light came on, went to AutoZone for diagnosis. Got P0A93 code. 02/03/24: Took car to Meineke, spent $807.68 on repairs. High voltage inverter coolant pump was replaced. 02/06/24: Returned to Meineke due to persistent issues.02/07/24: Discovered technician error at Meineke.02/12/24: Returned due to temperature issues.02/16/24: Spoke with new manager **** at Meineke.02/19/24: Car diagnosed with blown head gasket at another Meineke location, estimated cost of $13,850.09 to fix. 03/12/24: Discussed issue with the manager **** at the time. 03/28/24: Followed up with Meineke corporate office.Talked to ****, the new manager replacing ****. **** refused to discuss problem or give me the owners phone # and abruptly ended the call. 04/11/24: Towed car to Mile Hybrid Automotive for diagnosis. the only certified hybrid shop in *** 04/15/24: Received expert report confirming improper repair of replacing the high voltage inverter coolant pump caused blown head gasket and need a new engine.Initial Complaint

This mechanic shop has been a nightmare to deal with. They have given us many different answers as to what is the ongoing problem with our car. Not only that, but we have incurred several different charges pertaining to the inability to come and get our car AFTER we were told twice that it is ready to be picked up. We have driven halfway across town just to be berated at this shop when asking questions about the car and the additional work needing to be done. And when asked if we were to receive a discount for the miscommunication, all of the expenses incurred, as well as for the complete negligence resulting in the incomplete repair performed, the master technician replied "depends on how the rest of this conversation goes." And that comment was made towards my wife, who was expressing her concern to them in person. This statement made me feel incredibly uncomfortable and like there was a "bribe" trying to be asked.Now we are left on a sour note with this establishment and they STILL have our car. I'm extremely concerned they are going to do something to it. When they diagnosed the problem they had only brought up a few problems, now it seems like they have no idea what is going on with it and are giving us the runaround as to what the issue is.Update to today almost a week later, a day short (3/8/24) and our car had been back to this shop 6 or 7 times, and each time they illegally clear the codes and send us on our way. Which does nothing. I finally got sick of taking my car in to this "repair shop" and decided to do a little self troubleshooting. Turns out, not only did they neglect to tell us(until we brought it up) about a casting that had been destroyed in the process of replacing the air filter, but the technician didn't even connect the hose back to the alternator. To say this is beyond negligent is an understatement. We paid over 1k total between the week of not having a reliable car and actually fixing it ourselves (plus the repair itself cost $900)Initial Complaint

I took my truck in for work since it was having issues on 12/23 they told me they would call me with a diagnosis but they did not call they contacted me through text to ask about my warranty i replied and thought everything was being fixed. They kept my truck for a month they charged me an extra $1000 dollars and about $3000 to my warranty on 1/18 they called saying it was ready yesterday while driving it right after picking it up i noticed it was having really bad issues to the point of not being able to drive it, i called the manager to talk to him about it and he said he was not able to fix it and did not have the man power to fix it at this point but not only did they charge me and my warranty they made the truck worse. Now they manager is saying that they just could not fix it or know what was wrong but they kept it for a month and worsen the issue. They are really scamming people and not fixing issues. They dont want to return my money or the warrantys tbe commuted fraud by changing money to the warranty and not fixing anything.Customer response

Confirmed appointment for 3:00PM on Friday 12/15/2023 for an Interlock device installation.Upon arrival the Store Manager state nobody called them to confirm the appointment. And he didn't see before. However he would take the job, and mentioned that if they start the process and couldn't finish, the car would need to stay there until completed. I said go ahead. Within a few minutes the store manager said: "They are asking for 30 minutes so your car wont be ready today, tomorrow around 11:00M". I contacted Interlock and they took financial accountability for the ride Uber home.Saturday 12/16/2023 waited until 10:30AM, called the shop and was told they are working on it and having issues with the remote start. It should be done closer to 1PM. Wasn't ready at 1, 3 nor at 5. And was told close to 6 PM that the car wouldn't be ready and they were half way though and I couldn't get my car because the remote start situation they were having, however one of the technicians was going on his day off Sunday to try wrapping the job and contact me. Nothing happened Sunday and I left 3 voicemails.This morning 12/18/2023 when contacted the shop for an update at 7:30 AM, the Store Manager had just walked in and said that would call me back with an update. At 9:00 I called again, and he still had no updates, I asked for the General Manager contact number and he said that he was going to rewire my car back together, and he wasn't allowed to give any numbers.I picked up my car at 11:00AM this morning, nothing completed and under my lower panel and side panel were off placed and such. All recorded. And they put back in place.I had 3 Uber trips over the weekend and believe the Shop should be accountable and pay for it.The general manager said NO and the only thing she could do is bring to Corporate but I lost my faith and do not believe she will, based on how I was treated by her on the calls I can provide each individual charge or attached pics and spreadsheet for your reviewCustomer response

Supplemental information of the business malpractice.
Today I had my car taken to another shop for the installation.
My appointment at Car Toys was at 1:00 PM today and I was out of their shop by 2:12 PM with everything installed.
I also had the Technician at Car Toys verify what was done previously and he confirmed that nothing was even done beside take the panel out.
I just wanted to add this information to the case as I was told by the shop that my car specifically would take longer because of the remote start, which is not true. Car Toys ensured that this is one of the easiest car to work with. GMC and bone stock.
And considering that they did finish the job in 1 hour I believe on them.
Meineke kept my car for over 72 hours and wasnt able to do the job.
Car Toys had my car for a little over 1 hour and had the job completely done.
Thank you and more evidence of malpractices coming your way.

Critical Supplemental Information!
After further review on my vehicle location over the weekend, I'm very concerned on how to proceed here.
Attached screenshots of my Apple AirTag location on Friday and on Sunday early morning. My car was not inside their garage as I was told.
At this point this is beyond malpractice.
The AirTag uses UWB to determine if the tag is within its range of 30 to 40 ft which ********** of a mile.
Looks like my car was at the Kings Soopers Parking lot? Across the street. Walking 0.4 mile, or driving 0.5 mile.
Screenshots attached for further review. I have also requested the OnStar Location History, and am waiting on their response.
Can the shop provide prove that the job was that difficult and the truck was inside their shop?Initial Complaint

Meineke April 3, 23 Took 01 Cherokee jeep the engine light was on bought it to location on *********** ****** ** ***** received engine light test was fee received driver system testing. $84.67 I feel *********************** did not perform on my jeep because he didn't have the yellow keys tag on that says 01 Cherokee I had asked if he can fix the panel on the driver side yes he replied asking about the antifreeze can he check ?? it for me that I already bought . Nothing got fix why ?? because I didn't get an appointment I took it up there and I have been a loyal customer 1yr. I never saw the car garage full plus on the the car lot.. my father jeep was parked outside by the curb going n. When I went in the front door store the left side side window was busted when in I said your window ?? is broken out he said yes of course there was a customer there so he said that my engine is cracked I asked him how much ***** so I goggled 01 Cherokee ***** he stated he didn't no what that was since I was a Good citizen. He belittle me in others customer service. When I got the jeep the hood of the truck was opened when time to check ?? out in the back of garage not in the garage? I thought the store #*** Location ************************************************* #************ Store manager *********************** and also the first time I went there I did try to get a meineke credit ?? card and I had put my social security number on file it was blocked it just wouldn't go through.Customer response

On 08/11/2021 with ***** miles on my 2011 Jeep grand cherokee I had brought my vehicle into Meineke to have the brakes services because they felt on 24/7 when crawling below 5mph or coming to a stop. Also the squeaking and squealing from the brakes was unbearable. The service manager ***** said I needed new rotors, pads, shoes and the break fluids installed for all four tires. ll four new tires breakpads, rotors, calipers and struts replaced. This made no sense after only putting less than 9k miules on it. ***** also said that my front axle and the CV joints needed to all be replaced due to leakage from normal wear and that I had a leak in my power stearing. Two days later I brought the jeep into the certified jeep deaaler for a saafety recall fix and the Jeep dealership confi9rmed the power stearring fluid isnt kaeaking and it is in fact a striupped bolt in the oil/transmissuion pan. Very small leak but something that I needed to pay attention too. Its now early July and my jeep makes terrible grinding and metal on metal noises when turning, seemingly from the front left wheel. My breaks squeaak like h*** again and the frozen brake that cost thousands to fix last week was once again back... Since there was no leak in the transmission fluid (miss on them there), they also claimed to have completed a safety inspoection but I also was not informed about my trires being in critical extremely low condition.Customer response

In May 2022 I had new Front and Rear Brakes replaced with Meineke, at the tune of $1250. The service included new rotors and brake pads. This company never replaced the back rotors, only the pad, resulting in brake issues less than 6 months down the road. When I brought it to their attention, they claimed I was "overbearing" and the result was my driving. I'm a 40 year old woman that travels with my child in the car. I know the rotors were not replaced because I had another mechanic do a free brake check for me. They did not offer to fix the issue or refund what I paid. They offered me to pay for more services, which I declined. this company is operating on the grounds of lying to customers. I would like others to beware of their practices.Initial Complaint

The incident happened on 12-7-2022. I had an appointment for a Lyft inspection for my car. I made the appointment through the Lyft app and the price was listed at $19.95. I was told by an employee there that the inspection would take 1 1/2 hours. I came to the appointment at 2pm, at 2:06pm my car was driven in to a bay and put up on a lift. At 2:15pm a guy came out to the front and said I failed the inspection (within 9 minutes). I was really surprised, as it is a newer car. He said (******) that I needed all new rear brakes and calipers installed and told me it would be $657.08. He said my brakes were .2 and did not meet the Lyft requirements. I asked if they removed my tires to check the brakes and he said No, we just looked through the tires. I said I thought I would wait (to have work done) as I was in shock. He continued to pressure me to have the work done NOW.He then told me in order to release my car I had to pay $39.95 for the inspection. I said well you never did the full inspection. He said if I pay the $39.95 now and have the work done within the next week, he would not charge me for another inspection fee. Then a mechanic from the back came through the door and threw my keys on the counter at me and they almost went to the floor.I paid and left. I called another place Good ***************** Center and made an appointment for a second opinion. I took my car there on 12-12-22 at 8am. The second opinion was I DO NOT need new rear brakes or calipers. My car passed the full inspection and I was charged $19.95.Initial Complaint

I brought my vehicle in on 6/28 to be repaired. I was advised they would start on it that day and it should be a day or two. Then 6/30 I was advised they hadnt started on my vehicle and it would be done by Saturday 7/2. At approx 2:45 Saturday afternoon I called meineke and was advised they still have not started on it and it would be another 3 days before its done possibly. This is absolutely ridiculous. I dont have transportation to work, Ive spent my last trying to get to and from because meineke wont do their **** job and keeps pushing blame on everyone else and not even communicating. I want my vehicle fixed asap and compensation for the extra unnecessary travel expenses because I have to work.
