Just had LawnDoctor show up at my house yesterday, do a treatment, and then bill me 80 bucks for it- all with no contract and no request by me to have it done. Their statement is that the services are continual, and you have to call to stop it . . . which I never agreed to beforehand. I have already contracted with ******* (1/2 the price), and I asked LawnDoctor to take it off my bill- but no, they still are charging me half. What crooks!!! Stay away from these thieves- use another company!!!Business Response

Hi ****,
Sorry for the misunderstanding. It's definitely not our intention to service your lawn if we're not expected. I will write off the other half of the bill. Please review the invoice you attached. it does state in 2 different spots that services are continual from season to season. This is how all lawn care companies operate in the state of ********.
On top of this we reach out with serveral calls and and several letters during the off season showing what services are scheduled for during the 2025 season. We also we sent a text message the day before the service was scheduled. We do our best to give you multiple notices through multiple forms of contact to notify you that you're scheduled for service. At any time you can opt out of these services, but we do expect to hear from you if you plan on using another company.
Please disregard the invoice & feel free to call us if ******* lets you down.

I previously used this company in 2023 for lawn care. In 2024 I cancelled my account with them, and informed them I did not want them to contact me anymore. For the last several months, they have been harassing me and calling me multiple times every week and won't stop. They call from multiple numbers, and repeatedly try to get around my having blocked their business number.Business Response

Hi Eamonn,
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I will be sure to pull you off of our cancelled call list. It will take 24 hours but I will be sure you stop receiving calls.
Thanks for your patience,

I hired this company to complete services and were out of the five services. They never even showed up to my house. Once a driver pulled up and just got out and hung papers on my door and never actually did anything. Another time. They did my neighbors yard instead of mine. Two times they just havent even shown up at all. Im glad that I have cameras around my house otherwise I wouldve paid hundreds of dollars and never even received services and wouldve been ripped off. I cant imagine how many people out there and they are actually ripping off. Every time Ive had to call and get someone out to actually do the job. I dont feel like I shouldve had to micromanage their business to this extent to get services that I paid for. Nothing has been done to make this right. Still missing services and should be refunded.Business Response

Hi *******, Thanks again for taking the time to talk today. I sent a proposal to hopefully make things right. Please take the time to review the proposal and let me know if you think this is fair. I really apologize you felt the need to micromanage your services this year and would love to show you that this is extremely abnormal for our company. Please feel free to reach out if you have any further concerns or questions.Customer Answer

Lawn Doctor partially sprayed our rocks for vegetation growth on 7/15/2024. The young man did spot spraying only, on weeds he saw I guess. After 2 weeks there are still many weeds that are growing. They billed $127 but I have not paid because the results are wholly unsatisfactory. I called them (***) on 7/30/2024 for a respray remedy. They did this same service one year ago that was very satisfactory, leaving no vegetation growth, due to the man applying the spray sprayed 100% of all of our rocks. He used a very long hose connected to a large tank on a truck. This year's man only had a backpack tank that he carried to spray select rocks. Last year's service cost $128 which was promptly paid. This year's service was expected to be just like last year's. *** would not commit to respraying unless I agreed to a commitment of 4 more periodic sprayings, to start is 1 to 2 weeks. He said this was company policy. I told him that I didn't care about that, if they wouldn't respray what the rocks they missed (most of the rocks were missed). This commitment for periodic spraying was asked of me last year, too, but they finally agreed to an initial spraying last year with no more periodic spraying. I told them I would review the results of the initial spray, and assess whether or not another one was needed (which it wasn't). This year they agreed to same thing, only an initial spraying, with my assessment of the results. My expectations were service just like last year's service, and with a similar price, which initially I approved. But I'm not paying for inadequate service, unless a 100% rock spraying is completed in reasonable time. They did not complete the service.Business Response

Hi ****, Thanks for voicing your concern. Unfortunately you requested the spray quite late in the season, mature weeds are much more difficult to control. Typically our full sprays occur with a pre-emergent in early Spring for best control. I will be sure to remove the amount due on your account. However, in order for the re-sprays and the guarantee we will require your account to be enrolled in a full 4-service program moving forward. We simply cannot guarantee one time services. Full spray pre-emergent applications typically end in March once weeds have sprouted. Thanks for your time.Customer Answer

Complaint: 22066559I am rejecting this response because:
They will not fix what was wrong. Why should I do business with a company that does not stand by it's work? Their policy should be changed, demanding multiple visits, each for more money, is not necessary for excellent customer service. Why should I have multiple sprays and multiple payments when one spray works, if done properly, which it was not in this case? They did the same service last year, one time only, and it was excellent. It was done at this same time of year, too. This year's guy only did selective spraying, presumably on vegetation growth that he saw. Last year's service was done with 100% of the rocks sprayed - and it worked great. ************ was certainly expected this year.
Sincerely,

Our policy is either we will take care of the invoice or we will re-do the service. I wrote off the amount due, you do not owe us anything for the application. If you would like a full spray I recommend signing up in the Spring next year while we are doing pre-emergents. It's simply too late in the season for a full spray.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:This was resolved on July 31st by me saying that this was unsatisfactory to me because your last offer was for a respray on condition of requiring 4 more spays. See attached email communications, last of which was via *********************.
It appears to me that this company is not customer driven. They want to drive the customer....I don't like that approach.

In order for a weed control guarantee Lawn Doctor requires that customers are on regular programs. Unfortunately one time services are not guaranteed. The amount due was written off & there is no amount due on your account. As previously stated, our policy is either we will write off the amount due or re-do the service if the customer is not satisfied. The amount due was written off.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: There is nothing new here, they've stated many times they are not charging for the limited service they did provide, because I was not satisfied that they missed much vegetation. They would only service again under their unsatisfactory policy of requiring more than one time services. That's ok with me, because I don't plan to use them ever again. We will not be doing business together because of this non-friendly policy. Please do not send more of the same gibberish as it wastes my time as well as yours.
Get this in you head: NO BUSINESS PLEASE! STOP WASTING TIME WITH THESE FOOLISH ATTEMPTS TO GET ME AS A CUSTOMER!

I am filing this Better Business Bureau complaint against a Lawn Doctor. I, today, received an adverse credit action in my Experian credit file of an outstanding debt owed in the amount of $35.00 since 2017!!?Shocked by this situation, I immediately contacted Experian credit bureau to find out more about this activity. I would learn this is the second time this same company has attempted to blemish my credit file with fraudulent and invalid reporting. The initial adverse incident against my credit would be removed years ago yet again somehow, the company would report negative information against me. The credit bureau would inform me that this is illegal and therefore the company shouldn't be reporting adverse activity again since it was removed before. Experian indicated they would reach out to Lawn Doctor and request this not happen again given it was done before in error. The account in question dated back to 2017 which is almost 7 years ago!! Again, I have never had any service provided by a Lawn Doctor. It is fraud to use my information as this company is doing twice. It is a predatory practice and outright harassment. I request a cease and desist from their fraudulent activity. I am filing this report against Lawn Doctor as a result. I no longer want to receive harassing reporting to my credit file from them ever again. I am requesting they immediately remove this adverse information from my credit report AGAIN as their reporting of my information was found in error and invalid years ago and resolved. fraudulent activity.Business Response

****************** did indeed sign up for service on 2/6/2017. The service in question was performed on 3/1/2017 at a discounted rate as we would with all new customers. Lawn Doctor would never provide service without being requested to. We have name, phone number, email and home address in our database which would only occur if the customer contacted Lawn ********************** to provide service. This is the only time we have ever invoiced ****************** and is the only time we provided service. The invoice in question is absolutely a valid bill for service provided that was not ever paid for. Lawn Doctor sent several statements and placed several calls regarding this outstanding invoice. All communications were ignored. Once the outstanding balance is long overdue it does get turned over to a 3rd party for collection. Unfortunately this invoice is so old it's no longer money owed to Lawn Doctor, it is money owed to American Profit Recovery. All records indicate Lawn Doctor was contacted for service, service was rendered as requested, service was never paid for. Unfortunately the amount due is valid.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:You obviously have the wrong person. This debt is almost 7 years old. And given it was removed once from my credit file and yet again appear just before the 7-year statute is suspect.
Can you provide any other information proving your allegation other than my address and name? Please provide a service contract where I have signed up for alleged service other than a name and address. You could have gotten this information from any public record or even the trash as far as I am concerned. Again, you actions have proven to be predatory in nature and harassment. I am once again requesting you remove this adverse information from 7 years ago or this complaint will remove permanent and I will find additional methods to force you to do so.
Sincerely,

Hi BBB,
The company has stated they did indeed provide service. I vehemently object and state I have not signed up for any service with this company. I have requested they send me a contract stating otherwise which I am assuming will have more sensitive information such as my signature, social security number, etc. I am awaiting to hear back. If they can't provide any business contract where I have signed my name and agreed to this alleged service, it is fraud and invalid. Unless, they agree to remove this invalid and fraud activity from my credit report, this post remains.
I visited the BBB website and have seen many instances about this company where this company billed individuals in error and fraudulently for "***************. It appears the company shows up at residences without the homeowners consent and perform services. Again, this is predatory! I have not used any service with this company and expect, rather demand, they immediately remove this adverse information from my credit report. This has happened before and it was removed and it is happening again.
Regards,
*****

See attached documents showing customer sign up, confirmation of services to be performed, after service emails and payment reminders. Outstanding balance remains valid.
Customer Answer

I see the company provided various statements with my name and address on them. Still yet, I would like to see something more valid, i.e. a SIGNED service agreement. What you have provided means absolutely nothing in regards to providing proof of service. Again, I have never signed up for any service with this company and I request they immediately remove the adverse information which has appeared on my credit file a second time. It's obvious the adverse/ negative information was removed when it was reported previously because of error and if that wasn't enough, the disgruntled company is attempting to do so again.
I request the company remove the adverse information or this complaint will remain on the BBB website for fraud. In addition, I will have the negative information removed with the ****************** Their choice.
Regards

The customer is demanding a resolution that is simply out of our power. Lawn Doctor has no way of repairing credit scores effected by non-payment of invoices. We do not require signed contracts for program services, so this is something we cannot provide. At this point the debt is 7 years old. The only way we would ever have this customers e-mail, name, address, phone number in our database is if he contacted Lawn Doctor to render services. Customer is claiming he never asked for service...this is clearly untrue.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: they have fraudulently reported adverse information to my credit report. The previous instance I dealt with this years ago, the adverse information was removed for obvious reasons. Here again, this company has again reported adverse information against me. There is no excuses for this fraudulent and harassing behavior. Based on their response and their inability to do anything about it, I request my formal complaint against this company with the Better Business Bureau remains on file/ website. There is nothing additional to discuss.

On May 15, 2023 a company truck showed up un-announced and unexpected did not notify me they were here, claimed to do an aeration because we were on an "annual plan" that we knew nothing about. There is NO contract with this company by ** to perform service on our yard. They claimed to have mailed ** notification 7 times and texted. We never received notification by mail nor text, although we did get new phone numbers. But we did not get mailed notifications. The company then EMAILED me the day after service with an invoice for $88.50. I find it MORE than suspect that they emailed the invoice to our email address but NEVER thought to notify ** of an upcoming service via email. Worst yet, we had aeration done 5 days before the tech got here which I imagine the tech noticed because I watched him leaf blow my driveway, start and then stop aeration without finishing and the tech left without even went into our backyard the service I was billed for includes FRONT and BACKYARD.The company refused to admit their fraud when we called and only offered to SPLIT the cost of the service with **. A service NOT completed.Business Response

Hi **********,
Sorry I couldn't get ahold of you, I left a voicemail. I'm sorry about the confusion. This was certainly unintentional, we were under the impression that you wanted to continue your annual aeration plan. Although I do show several renewal emails and letters went out, since you have no recollection of receiving them I will be happy to resolve the outstanding balance. Especially if our ********* completed half of the lawn. There is $0.00 due on your account and it has been cancelled. So sorry for the mix-up & feel free to call me if you have any further questions or concerns.

We purchased and pre-paid for annual lawn service. This is our third year with lawn doctor. Our backyard was green and healthy in June but after the June lawn service several sections of grass were dead within a few days. We called to complain and they sent a lead technician out who claimed we had winter mites and fungus. He treated the lawn at no charge. The result was more of our lawn dying. Nearly half of our backyard was dead at this point. We called to complain again and a supervisor came out and treated it again. More lawn died and no improvement was noted. We cancelled the remaining three services we pre-paid and asked for a refund. They said they would refund our money but never did. They are now not responding to this and trying to get us to pre-pay $493 for next years service. This is questionable business practices at best and is theft of services. We no longer want to be customers of this business.Business Response

Hi ******,
I show the account was cancelled after the data for the pre-ay letter was sent. I do show a refund was just issued on 10/10 back to the **** you initially paid with. I show there is significant mite activity and fungus in your back yard. I recommend winter watering, sharpening the mower blades and raising your mower height to prevent this issue from worsening.
I do show the account as cancelled and the refund has been issued. Please let me know if I can do anything else for you.
