Cowboy Fencing and installed box wiring and privacy fences January 17, ************************************************ Solstice, *********. In addition, the company replaced a damaged post from the initial new build, for which an extra payment was given. This new replacement post was also a damaged post; it was split the length of the post. The company also stained the fence in ****** excluding the damaged post and rails. Six months later, we are still waiting for this unstained split post to be replaced or repaired, for it and the associated railing to be stained AND for the wiring on the opposite end of the fence to be tacked down. After multiple complaints to the owner by text, email, and phone, a worker came out the last week of May and promised to do the necessary repairs to the post (filling the defect, staining the post and its associated rail and securing the box wiring) on Memorial Day but failed to return. I have called, texted, and emailed the owner on multiple occasions without response. My son called from a different phone and was the only reason the worker came out in May to evaluate. My last attempt was again by text and email on July 11th and ******************** replied that he would come over that day and would put putty in the split post and fix the wire, but would not stain or replace the post or rails. Again he failed to come to complete the work. My payments to Cowboy Fencing have totaled $7574.00: $6774.00 for the 2 privacy fences, the wire installation on the split rail, and to replace a defective post that had been placed by the builder; there was an additional $800.00 to stain.Business Response

******* asked me to replace a post in her back fence that I did not build the builder built it. It was split. I replace the post at a price I told her for just the post I did not charge her to stain the post. All the 6 x 6 post in the area she lives in our split out of the 10 posts on her back fence. Eight of them are split. It does not mess with the integrity of the fence because of a split post that post is fine and strong and does not need to be replaced. The builder will stain that back fence its there fence. . the wire was taken off by her landscaper and not put up correctly, and of course blamed on Cowboy Fencing LLC.. Cowboy Fencing has done 120 of 135 homes in her neighborhood with 119 satisfied customers. At this time I would be more than happy to tack up the wire but I am not staining or replacing any more posts for her.Customer Answer

The response does not reflect my back fence. As you can see from the first 3 attached photos, I do not have *********** even 8 posts in my back property; I have 7. I have also attached the photo of the original post that was replaced, which was gouged by equipment prior to my move into my home; it was not split. My builder's warranty specialist agreed to have Cowboy Fencing replace the post in order to expedite the use of my back yard for my pet. I discussed my complaint to the BBB with the warranty specialist again this afternoon, who stated that the post should have been stained by Cowboy Fencing, and that **** would not be staining it. In fact, his worker, *******, on Memorial Day weekend, came by my property to evaluate the fence. He agreed to return 2 days later to fill in the crack in the post, to stain *****************, and to tack down the box wiring. He never returned. The backyard Landscaper did not remove the box wiring; It was not secured properly initially by Cowboy Fencing.
Lastly, I am including my last communication with *************************** about this issue on July 11th by text messaging:

We are still waiting for this unstained split post and its railing to be replaced and stained AND for the wiring on the opposite end of the fence to be tacked down. ******* promised to do the necessary repairs on Memorial Day but failed to return.

I had my handyman paint and fill the post and staple the fence back in place on Tuesday August 22, 2023.
Then on August 29th, ******* from Cowboy Fencing came by unannounced and refilled and re-stained the post and tacked down remaining areas of the fence wiring.
The work is completed and the matter resolved.
Thank you for your help in this matter.
