My brother purchased a skincare product from LAVELIER as a gift for me. However, realizing that the product was not needed, he attempted to return it within 510 minutes of purchase. The store informed him that the person responsible for refunds was unavailable, directing him instead to their customer service line.The following day, I contacted the business on his behalf, as I felt bad that he had made such a significant purchaseespecially given his financial situation as an Air Force non-commissioned officer. After waiting nearly an entire day for a response, customer service informed me that refunds were not permitted, only exchanges. However, the receipt explicitly states, "No refund exchange only within 14 days." From my perspective, the lack of a comma makes the statement unclear. Had it been written as "No refund, exchange only within 14 days," their claim would align with their policy.Despite my attempts to resolve the issue and even disputing the charge with his bank, the business refused to issue a refund. Earlier this month, my brother received a letter from his bank stating that LAVELIER declined to refund the $165.35. This product was totally misrepresented. I was told by the sales person that it would last for a year or two, it didnt even last two months. Not to mention, the effect is temporary; it lasts for five minutes, then my skin is back to the way it was before. Even having used it for 30+ days, there were still no lasting benefit. Not to mention, for the tiny amount of product that you get, it is significantly overpriced.Initial Complaint

I was shopping in the mall and a lady asked me to try an eye serum to which I did. The change was drastic so. Then I was invited to get a complimentary facial for a product evaluation after I purchased the serum. Mind you, I never knew the product wasnt returnable (if not opened)! While getting this facial, she was talking really fast and insulting me. She stated, a person can look at you and tell that skincare hasnt been your priority but its never too late to start. By this point she had me feeling like garbage to the tune of spending $5225!! Then I was made to sign a paper that the product cant be returned nor resold online but I wasnt given a copy. They also have a picture of my face to falsely advertise their product to other people, which she claimed she would do but there was no form to sign for that. I would like my pictures deleted. When I left, my face was itching and burning and gobs of cream they applied peeled off of my face. I think whatever was in their sample product was something to cause instant but temporary firming like preparation H. I have since tried to find the main corporate number for assistance, since it is a product sold in independently owned stores, however there is no contact info. Their website domain is for sale. I have been scammed and this shouldnt be allowed to happen to anyone else. And I want my money back.Initial Complaint

On Feb. 20, 2024, I purchased skincare products from Lavelier *************************************************************************************************. ************. And again on August 27 2024.The first time was with ******** **** and **** Itay and the second time with **** *****. All at the same location. The business has: Cancelled appointments Not been open when my appointment was scheduled , Doesnt answer the phone even though they indicate to call if you need immediate assistance Dont have consistent work hours The consultant is late or doesnt show up and someone else has to step in I am suppose to have monthly facial appointments which happened for the first 6 months but now are in consistent Currently I have not had an appointment since 9/23/24.The products are not working as indicated by the employees/consultants. Each time I went- they would encourage me to purchase more through pressure tactics. The facials that I was promised barely took any time which having had facials before other places should have taken longer. I have spent a lot of money and want a refund. In August they moved their store to **************, as I had my Sept appt there. The business address there is ***************************. Transaction date was May 3, 2024. I paid $400. for Lavelier Seagrass Biopumping after being being assured that this product would result in disappearance of wrinkles. The **** unsolicited, applied it to my under eyes. There seemed to be a tingling sensation and a slight very temporary improvement, so I fell for it. When I got it home, none of the above occurred and after 1 week, the elaborate packaging yielded NO MORE product! It was an empty canister. I am convinced this company applies Preparation H when chasing down prospectives as part of their extremely aggressive sales protocol. Temporary fix indeed for a few bucks.Initial Complaint

Lavelier kiosk in ***********, January 28, **** salesperson applied product under one eye and I could see the difference and felt a tingling. I bought the product for a discount at 399 and when I tried at home it did not feel the same tingling and left a chalky residue. I believe others claiming bait and switch. I did not expect a miracle cream but now I realize this is not what was used in me at the kiosk. Others were sold this for 150 so I feel it was predatory to knowingly mark this up.Business Response

As I was walking through *********************, a very pushy man approached me and took my arm and started to pull me towards a booth where there were chairs and he was stating that he wanted to show me a product that can help with wrinkles or the under eye area. He, led me to a chair and pushed me into the chair &without my permission, started to apply a product underneath my eyes. He held up a mirror to my face, and in the mirror I could see the product he had applied to under my eye was making one eye look different than the other eye where the product was applied I could see the under eye becoming smoother. I thought it looked like it was a good product that had completely taken the under eye, puffiness and took it away. Then he proceeded to tell me about it more, if I was unable to afford what he was offering me, he had a box that had slight damage and he would sell me that same product he had just put on my skin for a reduced cost, which was $150, and all the while he would ask me questions but then interrupting me, and I felt like I could not completely get more than 2-3 words of answering question then was interrupted and not able to talk. The product he sold me was definitely a different product from the product/skin cream he had initially put on my under eye area, Even though he assured it was the exact same product. The product which i still have (& the receipt) and is still almost full (and willing to take product back and receipt back for full refund but they sneek onto the receipt no refunds ALTHOUGH he said that it is refundable) the product I was sold does not feel on skin like the product he put on my skin in the mall and it makes small, tiny bumps on the skin on under eye area. Which makes someone not to keep using it, in fear that those bumps will keep appearing and get worse. Also it does not smooth out the under eye skin like the product the sales man put on my skin.Business Response

Like so many others before me, I was harassed by a sales girl while in Capri. She asked to look at my under eyes. She said she had a cream to make them look better. Just like those who have complained before me, what she put on my eye did work, then what she sold me is not the same product. This is a bait and switch scam. It doesnt do anything and cost $500. She also said I would receive VAT tax back of which I havent. I bought a fake product by a fake company. This is not legit. I was shopping at a mall in ******** ****** (*********) and was approached and pressured by a very pushy salesperson (******) at Lavelier franchise store to try their skin care product. I insisted I had no time but before I knew it he had seated me down and started to apply a product all the time telling me stories (lies) about the product. I do not believe that the product he tried on me is the same product that he eventually sold me. He told lots of stories about stores in Colorado and **********. Lots of stories about benefits and how amazing I looked. Very effective salesperson who is master at dishing out lies and exaggerations to get vulnerable people (older women) to buy their product. Im ashamed to say that I fell for his lines and false promises. I paid $500 for a product that I now see available at Amazon and other vendors for far less. The reviews of this product by credible sources does not support what I was told during the sales pitch. He tried to sell me additional products for over $6000! Luckily I didnt fall for that pitch! These stores are franchise owned and they are all about scamming the public. The parent company hides behind the fact that they dont control the local stores. This is criminal and this company should be stopped from perpetuating lies and deceitful practices. Women need to be warned about the false promises and scams run by this companys local franchise owners/managers and staff. Due to my concerns during the process I did not give him my actual name. I gave him the name of *********************** and false context information on the form he asked me to fill out. I should have trusted my instincts then and just walked away!Business Response
