The dealer misrepresented a vehicle's condition leading me to spend money on additional diagnostics that weren't performed properly as well as travel from ********* to ********.

    Business Response

    Date: 07/23/2024

The customer was interested in buying a Porsche from my company.  We are in ********, he is in Ca.  He was provided pictures and videos of the vehicle, as well as in depth phone conversations about the cars condition.  He was made aware that the vehicle was not a front line ready car, and therefore was $20,000 priced below the market.  He was told the vehicle needed a new top and some hardware for the top.  He requested that we send a video of the top unlatching successfully, and we did.  He was told the vehicle had an oil leak.  He requested that we perform a leakdown and compression test, at his expense.  He was provided an estimate, which he agreed to, and directed us to proceed with the work.  He also provided us with his credit card information for payment.  When the Porsche was on the lift, we also provided additional photos and videos of the underside of the car, the top condition and a cold start.  The vehicle was only washed, not detailed, as explained to the customer.  The Porsche body and interior are in very good condition.

He came and saw the car, drove the vehicle and inspected the car.  He decided the car was not for him.  I also have another similar vehicle that he asked about on site, which is $30,000 more, but apparently was out of his price range.

The work we performed was at his request, he was provided an estimate for the work, approved the work and paid for it.  He was provided a copy of the work by email before his arrival.

    Thank you,
