On March 15th, 2024 I went to Northglenn Smiles Dentistry for a routine teeth cleaning. From the very start the business was upselling me, and used an invasive and unneccessary procedure to poke my gums until they **** (not done by any other dentist office i've seen). They then told me i needed to pay them 1000 dollars no matter what, even if i declined the service. I finally managed to leave with only paying for a 120 dollar "smile club service" and no teeth cleaning. They basically extorted me out of this money and provided no service to me.This chain of dentists is actively scamming patients with aggressive upselling and extortion techniques that are unethical and probably illegal with the new surprise billing act.

I had dental work done at Northglenn Smiles on November 28, 2023. I had caps put on my upper and lower teeth. On February 28, 2024, I had pain in the right side of my mouth. I made an appointment to see my physician. It was his opinion that I had a neurological issue that would cause me chronic pain for the rest of my life. I did mention dental work but he dismissed it.On the evening of Friday, March 1, 2024, I was in excruciating pain on the left side of my mouth and I went to see an emergency dentist near my home since Northglenn Smiles was not open. They gave me a shot of novocaine so that they could take x-rays (did not show an infection) and told me that since they did not do the dental work they could only provide MethylPREDNISolone 21 Tablets. I had an appointment for cleaning scheduled for Monday, March 1 at noon with Northglenn Smiles and I would see them on Monday. On Saturday, I started the tablets. On Sunday my entire left side of my face was swollen as well as my tongue. The pain was beyond anything that I have ever experienced and I just sat and cried for three days.Monday morning I called Northglenn Smiles at 7:50 am to schedule a dental emergency to see a dentist. The scheduler was rude and told me I had an appointment with a hygienist. She said that there was not a dentist available to see me. I was in so much pain and she just kept saying over and over again that a dentist was not available. I was going to have to live with this pain and they would do x-rays with the hygienist but nothing more. I called the Emergency Dentist and they saw me at 8:30 am. Due to all the swelling, they were not able to do x-rays and they gave me a prescription for AMOXI-CLAV (7 days). Based on the x-rays from Friday, the dentist said that I would probably need a Root Canal. It is Saturday, March 9, 2024, and I am still in immense pain, unable to open my mouth completely, and swelling. I have an appointment with emergency dentist on March 15, 2024.

The dentist I saw today at Affordable Dental in Brighton said that I would need another week of antibotics (severe inflamation) and flexeril (jaw pain and movement). They have referred me to a root canal specialist. Still not able to open mouth for x-rays, etc.

Dental clinics like Northglenn Smiles should have a dentist available for serious emergencies for their patients. Staff should not be rude but rather be kind and considerate of patients in emense pain. The details of what happened to me show how serious this emergency was.
