I began renting a 10ft x 10ft locker (#G22) at Rifle Airport Storage on Sept 15, 2020. (Previously ******* ********** ***** * ******** ***). On Jan 5, 2023, I went there and the overhead rolling door had been damaged. Something struck the door with such force that it was moved inward off it's tracks on the left side. It's relatively high on the door; maybe four feet or so. My best guess is that 1) a camper or some other larger vehicle hit it and 2) occurred around the first of the year. Regarding my camper theory, there is another business located in front of this storage facility (to the south) which has approximately five tenants (?). While all parties that rent a space at Rifle Airport Storage (RAS) need a key code to enter, the tenants at the other building do have access to storage area via the back of their building. There is a driveway behind this other building that is directly across from my unit. I suspect that someone was moving something big, lost control on the ice, and hit my storage door that dislodged an area roughly three feet long and a foot into my unit. I'm afraid to open it because I might not be able to close. I took photos but RAS might need take pictures for their insurance. In fact, I refuse to open it until I know they have resolved this damage since it's their property. I've tried calling, texting, left messages, and emailed RAS but it's been over month without any response. I simply want them to fix the door so I can put Xmas stuff, etc. It's frustrating to paying for a rental space I essentially can't use. RAS promised 24/7 access only to be thwarted by this unsolved issue. Since it is their building, I thought it'd be appropriate to meet them at my unit at an agreed time so I can unlock the door when they fix it. I've been concerned about the weather and animals (esp. birds) ability to enter my unit through that gap. Rent is due (March 2023) and intend to pay, but would like credit for each day this continues, if allowable. Thank you.

    Dear Clay ********,
I wish to thank you for looking onto this matter, even if you were not able to contact Rifle Airport Storage.
The BBB isn’t the only method I used to get this resolved and am glad to report that the issue has been fixed. I was able to track down the owner, repairs made, and three-months of storage fees waived for the inconvenience. Sounds pretty “win-win” to me.
If you have any further questions, please contact me.
    Regards,
    Jim C*****
