      *Worst experience I've ever had inside of any gym I've ever been too*** I recently moved to Steamboat and was excited to begin the 7 day free trial to see if this was the right gym for me. The manager went over the rules and I came back to workout the next day. While working out, the manager John explained that I am not allowed to have my gym bag near me. I explained to him that I have had my wallet stolen in the past and I would like to keep my bag as close to me as possible. He began to get very agitated and started yelling at me that he told me bags were not allowed on the gym floor. I explained that there must have been a miscommunication because the conversation we had only involved taking off dirty shoes and switching to gym shoes at the front door. While I respectfully explained that to him, he lost all of his sense of respect and began to yell at me, repeating that bags aren't allowed on the gym floor. I told him if he was unable to have a respectful conversation with me that I would want no part in joining his gym. He told me to give him the key fob and "get the heck out of here." Had John respectfully approached me with a calm and collective attitude, I'm positive we could have resolved our issues. However, his unprofessional and rude attitude makes me never want to step foot into an anytime fitness ever again. Please have respect for the people you are trying to get to join your gym. If there is a miscommunication on the rules, have the decency to approach the person with respect and understanding as opposed to telling them that Steamboat is unlike any other town and they don't have to worry about people stealing anything. This is by far the worst experience I've ever had inside of any gym, I really implore corporate to have anger management training for their managers, as John was unable to professionally and calmly explain what he would like as a manager.

      Hello, This gentleman was new to our club and was visiting on a complimentary basis. Our General Manager of 4+ years asked him to follow one of the rules we have in the facility for the safety of our members. Longtime members who saw this interaction described it as a patron who thought his preference superseded the safety precaution everybody else follows in a gym setting. He was asked politely, put his headphones and hood back on, and proceeded with his workout until he was asked to leave. He was upset and wrote multiple negative but very well written reviews about the rudeness of my General Manager. We don’t want to upset anyone and would much rather have Jose as a member of the club than a critic. I have spoken with witnesses and my 4+ years of working with John lead me to believe that there was some kind of responsibility on both sides here. I did reach out to Jose and we agreed that this incident is water under the bridge and we should just move on and let it go. I wish Jose the best and am confident that we have a very dedicated professional in charge of our gym. Sincerely, Guy C*****
